Minnesota Wild History
The state of Minnesota was without an NHL franchise for seven years after the 1993 departure of the North Stars. That void was filled when the city of Saint Paul landed the Wild as an expansion team in 2000. Hall of Famer Jacques Lemaire took over as the franchise's first head coach.
The Wild advanced to the Western Conference Final in 2003 behind the play of right wing Marián Gáborík, and has gone on to post a winning record in almost every season since. Starting with the 2012-2013 season, Minnesota reached the postseason six consecutive times.
Center Mikko Koivu spent his entire NHL career with the Wild and is the franchise's all-time leader in games played, points and assists. In 2022, the Wild retired Koivu's jersey, the first player in franchise history to have a jersey retired.

Great game. Nice to see The Wild are as good as The Red Wings!
We had a great time at the Wild game. Every time we are in the Excel center I am reminded of how lucky we are to have such a beautiful hockey arena. compaired to other arenas around the country this is on of the gems. We sat in the upper bowl this game and even from far away the sight lines are pretty darn good and you feel like you are in the game.
The game was unbelievable! Wild won 5-1 over Anaheim Ducks!!!!!! Wild scored when Ducks had a 2 man advantage!!! The game was non-stop action packed excitement from start to finish! I would definitely recommend seeing the Wild play!
Xcel Energy Center is always a great place to watch a hockey game, at any level of competition. My family had a great experience.
The seats were great. We could see the players up close and feel like we were right in the action. The game was great and the players were really fun to watch.
My girlfriend and I got tickets to a wild game for valentines day and it was the best valentines day ever! The atmosphere is amazing, you are truly surrounded by hockey fans everywhere. Parking was easy, seats were great, and the xcel center is truly 1 in a million.
This was our first time to attend a HOCKEY GAME !!! We travelled from San Diego to check out the city and so thrilled to see the FANS support their team !!! Does San Diego have a hockey team? Who knows... The WILD FANS are exactly that, WILD !!! My son and I had a GREAT TIME !!! THANK YOU TICKETMASTER for KILLER SEATS !! We LOVED the game!! I am so a WILD'S fan now.
The game was very exciting even though they lost but, the most disappointing part of the game was how the players acted at the end. My seats were near where the players exit and as they were heading into the locker room not one of them slapped the kids dangling over the side hand. How terrible, the kids idolize the players and win or lose they should be showing these kids some acknowledge. The players are the kids heros either way and should act like that even if they lose, it would have meant the world to them.
It was amazing the fights were really good, it was my first game and i loved it hope to go again soon.
I took my neice to go see a Wild game. She usually isn't much into hockey, but she got sucked right into all the excitement of it. As the year gets closer towards the end and the standing are so close that it's still anyone's game to who is going to make the play offs, the excitement is raising. The fans are getting more excited and into the game and the players are playing the game hard, with a lot of emotion. There was definitely a lot of energy flowing, with the amount of fights that were erupting the whole night. It was great!
Had fun time with our 11 year old grandson at his first MN Wild hockey game! Taking his older brother next month...ticketmaster makes it easy to pick out great seats...Thanks
Game was a lot of fun to watch! The fights were great LOL It's not fun unless someone gets inti a fight :)
Well I bought the tickets for my sister, but she absolutely loved it since it was right behind the players bench.
Even though I don't think there is a bad seat location at the Excel, our seats were great. The atmosphere was charged and the Wild could feel it! It was an outstanding game with never a boring moment. Excellent entertainment and a definite "must see" for anyone who even has just the slightest interest in hockey.
great game! lots of exciting fights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was one of the better games I have attended. The stellar play of the MN Wild combined with Erik Johnson, hometown hero, was perhaps one of the more exciting convergences of two hockey teams.
What a game back to back wins they are looking like a play off bound team I can not wait to be back Tuesday night to see them win again.
We had the best time of our lives! It was amazing!
First time going to a live hockey game. It was frickin AWESOME!! GO WILD!!!!!!
It was a fun game. I am so glad they won. The seats where awesome. I am glad I got to go because it used to be so hard to buy tickets. GO WILD GO!!!
