MINISTRY IN CONCERT:

Legendary industrial metal outfit Ministry has been shaking fans to the core with their bone-crushing live shows for more than three decades, and their upcoming tour dates may be the final chance to see them in action. Longtime Ministry guitarist Mike Scaccia died of a heart attack in 2012, prompting frontman  Al Jourgensen to declare that the band's 2013 album From Beer to Eternity and accompanying tour would be their last. It's a bittersweet moment for fans -- they get to see the Jourgensen and company let it all hang out on their historic farewell tour dates, but it's also the end of an era. The bland plans to honor their legacy and Scaccia's life by doing what they do best -- delivering ferocious, decibel-shattering performances packed with industrial metal classics like "Stigmata" and "Jesus Built My Hotrod".

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Ministry formed in Chicago in 1981 and spent the better half of the decade turning out dark synthpop that earned them a huge underground following. By the mid-'80s the band had reached the peak of their early incarnation with albums like Twitch (1985) and The Land of Rape and Honey (1988) -- two cult classics still heard in alternative dance clubs. Towards the end of the '80s frontman Al Jourgensen was incorporating increasingly aggressive elements into the band's music including jackhammers and  heavily distorted guitar, and by the early '90s Ministry's sound had evolved into full-fledged industrial metal. The band's 1991 album Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs marked a high point, topping Billboard's Heatseekers chart and receiving heavy MTV airplay with the single "Jesus Built My Hotrod". Since then the band has remained an industrial metal powerhouse, releasing eight hard-hitting albums including 2013's From Beer to Eternity -- their final release as Ministry. On their farewell tour dates in support of the album, the band will slay ticket buyers to career-spanning sets celebrating more than three decades of genre-defining music.

Ministry is DONE!! Worst show EVER. :(

by slogg on 5/8/15The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

When your lead singer is too inebriated to even lip sync properly, you probably should not be touring anymore. He had fake dreads pinned on that required stagehand assistance to keep them attached to his head. He fell down and dropped the mic yet his vocals kept going. Fool literally sat down by himself in the middle of a song and the vocals played out. They sheepishly asked for an "encore" chant and for the first time in my hundreds-of-shows history, the crowd booed and left the club instead of enduring any more of what was the SINGLE WORST SHOW I've ever been to. BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Uncle Al is a little past his expiration date.

by DCBooks on 5/8/15The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

Love Love Love Ministry, but this tour won't add many fond memories for me. Al vaguely lip-synched his way through 90% of the show, and really only seemed to remember the old hits. The band put in a respectable effort, but realizing that the frontman was pulling an Ashley Simpson SNL appearance took most of the life out of the show.

    MInistry Awesomeness!

by padamus10 on 4/29/15Revolution Live - Ft Lauderdale

Really enjoyed the show. The only problem was the ticket showed the event starting at 7 p.m. The opening act didn't take the stage until 8:45 -- and Ministry started an hour later. I have to admit that once they got started though -- it was sheer insanity. The place was virtually sold out. It was great to connect with other fans who enjoyed Ministry through the decades and still have an appreciation for their work.

    Ah'Mazing!

by 84Marlie on 7/7/12Club Nokia - Los Angeles

First time getting to see Ministry!!!....got to score pit tickets and get up close to Al Jourgensen. Wish they played some of their older songs.."Over the Shoulder & Flash Back." Security was pretty cool and staff was great with service, so no complaints here. Can't wait to see em again!

Ministry is still the hardest band on the planet.

by LESPOT420 on 6/29/12Club Nokia - Los Angeles

When I heard that Ministry was putting out a new album in 2012. I was stoked. Al putting in the last word before the Apocalypse of 2012. It was just a coincidence that the LA show was on June 21, 2012 exactly six months before December 21, 2012. I had to go. The last time I saw Ministry was in 1999 with the Psalm 69. I have to say. AL IS A INDUSTRIAL METAL GOD!!!!!

    Ministry was horrendous!

by FrankReviewer1 on 6/26/12Best Buy Theater - New York

The music was too loud; it entirely overpowered the vocals. When I could hear the vocals, they were unintelligible. I also thought the video montages denouncing ex-President George W. Bush were hackneyed to say the least. It was the worst concert I have ever been to.

    Worth the Trip

by Mike713 on 6/25/12Best Buy Theater - New York

This was the 3rd time I had seen Ministry, with the first two being in 1999 and 2003, respectively. It was the right mix of newer songs and older songs, and they were really on top of their game. Al seemed glad to be there and even came down to the area between the barricade and the stage to thank fans before going in after the main set. I am really glad that I made the decision to travel up from Houston for this show.

    You should have been there.

by longtimemanytime on 6/24/12Club Nokia - Los Angeles

It's been about 10 years since I last saw Ministry (Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas). I am really glad I didn't miss this opportunity. The band did not disappoint and I was reminded why I have liked Ministry since the 80's. Every song was great and they could have played all night I think everyone would have stayed until they ran out of songs to play. When Al came down to the floor to shake all our hands in the front you could see the gratitude in his eyes. IF YOU GET THE OPPORTUNITY DO NOT MISS THE NEXT MINISTRY SHOW! The world could use a little more Ministry.

    Ministry Relapse

by Angel2012 on 6/24/12Club Nokia - Los Angeles

If you missed the going away tour this is the one and only chance to catch ministry again. This is really for the people that liked them for a very long time and have been influence by the music. There were some technical issues but nothing that ruins the show.

Ministry - Best show since Lolapolooza tour

by Optik on 6/23/12Club Nokia - Los Angeles

Uncle Al is back with an extremely tight and high tech sonic assault. The new LP Relapse is packed with new tracks that combine the heavyness of Filth Pig and the mathmatical guitar riffs of N.W.O. Al's stage presence is humble and gracious to the audience of life long fans. He played old was tracks and a range of hits from each album. The band is super tight and precise with an speed metal flair. Visuals and sound production is top notch. Sound quality at Club Nokia was awesome allowing the audience to hear all the layers with precision and clarity. My ears are still ringing though two days later. Optik
