MINISTRY IN CONCERT:

Legendary industrial metal outfit Ministry has been shaking fans to the core with their bone-crushing live shows for more than three decades, and their upcoming tour dates may be the final chance to see them in action. Longtime Ministry guitarist Mike Scaccia died of a heart attack in 2012, prompting frontman  Al Jourgensen to declare that the band's 2013 album From Beer to Eternity and accompanying tour would be their last. It's a bittersweet moment for fans -- they get to see the Jourgensen and company let it all hang out on their historic farewell tour dates, but it's also the end of an era. The bland plans to honor their legacy and Scaccia's life by doing what they do best -- delivering ferocious, decibel-shattering performances packed with industrial metal classics like "Stigmata" and "Jesus Built My Hotrod".

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Ministry formed in Chicago in 1981 and spent the better half of the decade turning out dark synthpop that earned them a huge underground following. By the mid-'80s the band had reached the peak of their early incarnation with albums like Twitch (1985) and The Land of Rape and Honey (1988) -- two cult classics still heard in alternative dance clubs. Towards the end of the '80s frontman Al Jourgensen was incorporating increasingly aggressive elements into the band's music including jackhammers and  heavily distorted guitar, and by the early '90s Ministry's sound had evolved into full-fledged industrial metal. The band's 1991 album Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs marked a high point, topping Billboard's Heatseekers chart and receiving heavy MTV airplay with the single "Jesus Built My Hotrod". Since then the band has remained an industrial metal powerhouse, releasing eight hard-hitting albums including 2013's From Beer to Eternity -- their final release as Ministry. On their farewell tour dates in support of the album, the band will slay ticket buyers to career-spanning sets celebrating more than three decades of genre-defining music.

Death Grips will blow your mind

    by Tydog69 on 10/27/17EXPRESS LIVE! - Columbus

Death Grips put on an enthralling 20+ song set spanning their entire career. No Love changed the way I listen to hardcore music. Express Live! Is still a boring, bland, over priced venue offering very expensive drinks. Catch them further away from the spoiled OSU students who don't know how to rage.

    Ministry was Excellent!

    by Slayerxx23 on 10/27/17EXPRESS LIVE! - Columbus

The sound wasn’t right. Death Grips opened for them that night and did an excellent job as well! But, the opening bands volume level shouldn’t be higher than the headliner. There was a noticeable difference and Ministry’s volume output was turned wayyyyy back. Not sure why, but everyone around us noticed it and was talking about it too.

The show was pretty awesome. I feel they should have played a lot longer [Ministry].

    Death Grips... YUH

by Jonnyyikes on 10/17/17Electric Factory - Philadelphia

Never thought I would get to see them, so when Death Grips was coming to Philly I immediately bought tickets. There are far superior venues in the city, but you take what you can get. A little looping around and parking was free. Death Grips did not disappoint. It was everything I wanted from a show. The energy was amazing. Ministry was also very satisfying. About 30% of the crowd left after Death Grips so we had room. Great show.

electric factory redemption show falls short

by NataliaTwatski on 10/17/17Electric Factory - Philadelphia

Last year I caught Death Grips at Terminal 5 in NYC, stoked to see they were coming to the hometown this year. I've been highly disappointed in the past with the Electric Factory's sound quality, so my friends and I dubbed this the Electric Factory Redemption Show. If they could pull off a Grips show, they're worthy of our business. The sound wound up being abysmal. Both Zach and Ride sounded so small. The mix was muddy and confused. It was nothing compared to what Terminal 5 pulled off last year. Thankfully, we still had a lot of fun, but it wasn't because of the Electric Factory. It was because of the insanity of a crowd getting Gripped. Next time Grips comes around, I pray it's at the Transfer. Otherwise, back to NYC we go.

    Loudest Concert I've Ever Attended!!!

by DJ3one3 on 6/13/15House of Blues Las Vegas - Las Vegas

From the second I walked into the H.O.B. I knew it was going to be a loud one. The house music before the band's even come on was so loud I saw one of the bartenders plugging her ears. The opening band ( The SiXXe'S ) were ok. I had never heard of them until this show. I'd say they did their job as openers, but I'm not running out to buy their CD. Ministry hit the stage a bit after 10 pm and just brutally assaulted everyone from start to finish! The band sounded great. It looked like they were enjoying themselves and not just going through the motions. I was right against the rail in front of the stage and I paid for it. This was the loudest show I've ever been to, and I've seem some crazy shows. Growing up in Detroit, I've been to some extremely loud concerts and underground raves. Places where the bass was so hard it felt like a jackhammer on your chest. Ministry diminished everything I've ever witnessed. Wow, my hearing in my left ear took almost a day and a half to come back! I'm not complaining, just stating the facts. If you're on the fence about going, buy your tickets now, I promise you won't be disappointed. I'd bet not a single person there that night was.

    Ministry Rocked

by Bittersweet123 on 6/8/15Boggus Ford Events Center - Pharr

Event was a memorable one, unfortunately for the wrong reasons. Event only sold 300 tix. The event venue was so empty. Very disappointed no on came out to see "one of the founding bands of Industrial Rock. They have such a history you'd think more locals would be interested. Plus one My Life with Thrill Kill Kult did not play for whatever reason. This was another disappointment. Ministry was good and loud and raw as ever. Played a lot of new stuff which is expected for support of album. but was disappointed in the fact they did not play a good part of their old stuff.

    Ministry rocks

by KJD1035 on 5/11/15House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

They did a great show. Despite Al getting up there in years, he is a true showman. The band was tight and they played a little of everything. Best part was just one fix, new world order and so what. Loved khyber pass.

Ministry is DONE!! Worst show EVER. :(

by slogg on 5/8/15The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

When your lead singer is too inebriated to even lip sync properly, you probably should not be touring anymore. He had fake dreads pinned on that required stagehand assistance to keep them attached to his head. He fell down and dropped the mic yet his vocals kept going. Fool literally sat down by himself in the middle of a song and the vocals played out. They sheepishly asked for an "encore" chant and for the first time in my hundreds-of-shows history, the crowd booed and left the club instead of enduring any more of what was the SINGLE WORST SHOW I've ever been to. BOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
