American contemporary Christian musician Michael W. Smith is one of a select number of Christian artists who have managed to achieve crossover success with mainstream audiences. His brand of spiritual adult contemporary pop, along with several instrumental worship and Christmas albums, have made him a favorite among fans seeking to embrace the holiday spirit and celebrate their faith through music. On his 20th studio album, 2011’s Glory, Smith enlisted a 65-piece orchestra to produce his most soaring collection of instrumental spiritual songs yet, landing him at No. 8 on the Christian Albums chart. Smith made his solo debut in 1983 with the Grammy-nominated The Michael W. Smith Project, releasing several more successful albums in the ‘80s before achieving mainstream success with hit single “Place in This World" from 1990's Go West Young Man. He is the recipient of three Grammy awards, including two Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album awards for I’ll Lead You Home (1995) and Worship Again (2002). On tour in 2013, Smith has been wowing fans with his truly collective live concert, inviting ticket buyers to sing along to his impressive array of spiritual and holiday songs.
Michael W. Smith listed this on his tour schedule as a regular New Hallelujah concert. And his whole concert was only 45 minutes. We spent more time than that listening to KTIS radio people talk about themselves. All the music was great, but just not enough of it to justify charging for a real concert.
The concert was very exciting. The 1000 member choir was awesome. Michael W Smith proved his talent and high energy once again....thank you. Matthew West has a wonderful personality. Thank you KTIS for providing us with a great opportunity to worship!!!
I loved the show! Phil Stacey was a very nice suprise talent, Matthew West has been incredible every time I've seen him, and Michael W Smith's worship was amazing. I only wish that MWS would've played longer!
We need more Michael W. Smith concerts in the twin cities area. Is is my imagination or does he not come as much to the twin cities as he does to other areas? Otherwise, AWESOME CONCERT!
The song about the Flag was to die for! ( I teared up) All Americans needs to stand together for freedom as a Christian Nation and put values and morals first in our country and lives! West was dynamite. I heard him on the radio (KTIS) both talking to announcers and music, but he has talent! Michael W was to die for too! What a great line up of sons and energy!
From beginning to end it was an unforgettable night! Lights, sound, and action, everything was so well put together!
Would have loved to have more time for Michael W Smith, but his concerts are never long enough - even if they were 10 hours! I could listen to him for hours!
I have never been to a concert before and all I have to say is I am so glad and very blessed that I had gone to this concert.. I felt so moved and just felt the Lord's presence in that place.. Thank you for playing the wonderful, heart touching music everday.. alot of things that are said on the station or even the music touches me and really speaks to me.. I go thru things and its like a day later or even later that day its mentioned on the radio.. its weird..but so true.. God bless all of you for everything you do..
We loved Matthew West and Phil Stacey surprised us with his awesome talent! The 1,000 person choir was amazing to hear and of course we loved Michael W. Smith! Great event!
The show with MWS exceeded all of my expectations! His interaction with the audience was very moving. He certainly gives all glory to God !
thank you ktis for touching the lives of so many. in today's world it is so refreshing to find the true love and purpose of our being. at one point i leaned over and whispered to my sister how wonderful it felt as we looked around to be present with so many who were there because of their faith. the choice of musicians was phonominal. michael w smith sure knows how to touch the hearts of many. thank you.
This was such a wonderful event that my wife and I will never forget it. Phil Stacey sang like an Angel. It is so great to see a young man that is still serving his Country in the Navy yet is so dedicated to Jesus Christ. Matthew West was terrific both as the host and a performer. He acts like a real man and not some self righteous snob. His performance was top notch. Beautiful songs that show his real love and dedication to Our Lord. The Graham sisters were interesting and shocking. Ruth Graham when asked what we should pray for her father Billy stated we should pray that he leave this world to be with his wife, friends and Jesus. It stunned many people but when you think it over it makes sense. Michael W. Smith cannot be matched in his awesome and sincere worship of God. The Holy Spirit rained down on the crowd as he led us through Agnus Dei, The River is Rising and Our God is an Awesome God. He is always looking up singing his heart out to God. Tremendous event. Thanks to all who made it possible!
We were soooo thankful we attended! Inspiring. Worshipful. Uplifting. Touching... these are just a few of the words that describe this event. Jesus was present. We felt the singers were so amazing and they pointed us to Christ. There was such joy. And such entertainment and love in that place. My daughter was able to meet Matthew West following the event. Phil Stacey, MWest and MWSmith were so uplifting and we were blessed. The 1000 voice choir was inspirational. KITIS did a great job. We were touched by the Billy Graham family. We want Billy Graham to know how deeply loved he is. He should not have to experience loneliness one more day. He has given so much of himself to so many. It is our prayer that his heart is filled to full measure and that his loneliness is replaced with pure joy. We love you Billy. You must know how you have touched us all so deeply.
A fantastic evening! This was a gathering of thousands of people worshiping the Lord! Who could ask for anything better?
His guest were awesome. Did not know much about Natalie Grant before the show. Looking to buy some of her music. It was nice to see Phil Stacey after AI. I really liked the preaching (talking) that each performer shared. We know and like the music but it is nice to learn about the performer when they share there experiences.
The whole evening was excellent and very moving. Each group did a great job of being set up and also of playing meaningful worship filled songs and also sharing their testimony which was heartfelt and uplifting to hear. Very inspirational and yet also enjoyable to spend the time together with others.
He is a very authentic and grounden personality who has a message for everybody. I think the biggest testimony he made is that he's married to his wife for 28 years now! That is a rare thing to find in the show business. All Glory to the Lord, that is was he lives.
MWS hit the stage to a standing O at 9:00 pm & gave us 2 amazing, blessed hours, including a wonderful, intimate acoustic set with just MWS & the keyboard. The set list was a good mix & the concert-goers active & interactive. It was beautiful to hear the voices flow down from the lawn to the stage as we worshipped as one. His dedication of "Live Forever" to a family in attendance who had lost their wife/mother was very moving. He preached with an open heart and shared openly about his journey. It was an amazing night from beginning to end!!!!
This was my first time in a Christian Concert... and we enjoyed it..
It was a memorable evening. Michael was fabulous!!
