The Master - Don't Miss Out!

by Jen628 on 3/12/12Stone Pony - Asbury Park

Michael Schenker is the best guitar player that I have ever seen. The show was incredible. His playing absolutely blew me away! Michael surrounded himself with a great band that complimented his incredible musical talent. This is a must-not-miss show. I wish I could have followed them straight to Allentown to see it all over again the next day! Would see them every weekend if I could. My husband and I were really glad to have been able to take his son to witness such an outstanding guitar player. Michael is the Master! Ausgezeichnet Michael!

    Wow - Awesome

by CozyDave on 3/12/12The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

Since Robin McAuley was the singer, they were able to do a few Scorpion songs - Lovedrive, Another Piece of Meat, among them. Great UFO set as well. Love to Love, Lights Out, Only you can Rock Me... Amazing to see MSG so close up. My ears are shot, but it was worth it. Lots of old farts like me with balding heads bobbing and fists pumping! Cool. Very cool!

Michael Schenker tore up the Pony

by AJErrico on 3/12/12The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

MSG with Robin McCauley were tight and kicked major a$$. Long set list included UFO, Scorpions, and MSG material. Opened with Into the Arena crowd loved it. Mike lost some weight over the last two years. Now playing an assortment of Dean V's exclusively. If you have a chance to catch MSG especially UFO fans don't miss this monster guitarist.

    Schenker is a Guitar God!

    by Schenkerfan2010 on 8/28/10Showcase Live - Foxboro

Schenker shredded on his flying V for this show! After waiting many, many years to finally get a chance to see my guitar idol in person, I was not disappointed. The venue was small and intimate, about 1,000 people, and the cost very managable. Schenker played right in front of us about 10 feet away. He played with an energy that radiated out to the crowd and every song whether an old favorite or a new one was a crowd pleaser. Had he been playing another night or show I would have been there again. An absolutely amazing night that will live on in my memory. An avid fan and guitar player I waited 25 years to finally see him play and was not disappointed! Just incredible!

    Theres Nobody Like Mike!

by Kakarikovillage on 8/20/10Coach House - Capistrano - San Juan Capistrano

Wow! What a guitar player. Unbelievable. I first saw MSG in Reseda, Ca 30 years ago. They were awesome. Fast forward thirty later and Michael is still one of the best guitar players to ever grace this planet. The band was tight and sounded great minus Gary Barden. He just couldn't hit the high notes. Even with Barden struggling the show was still a 5 star kick in the ass!

May be better than ever !!!

by Baub on 8/4/10House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

Michael was absolutely amazing !! An hour and a half of some of the hardest, raunchiest, and downright meanest guitar chords ever belted out in one place. The band was tight and the sound was great. if there coming to your neck of the woods then make sure you do not miss this show. Lynch Mob was also downright kick ass. George played fast and heavy as always, and the entire band did a "meet and greet" after there set. This concert could have went on for 4 hrs. and I would have been standing and screaming for the whole thing !!

    guitar extraordinaire

by ronnio on 8/4/10House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

If you enjoy hard rock guitar virtuosity, this is the show to see. Sister Sin came out rocking with a hard sound not unlike early Crue. This band made some new friends to be sure. The steamy Siren at the helm steered us into a night of hard rockin' i myself was long overdue for. Lynch Mob took it a step further with some seriously scorching riffs. This band was tight, and George got some sounds out of that axe that had to be heard to be believed. I thought "How do you follow George Lynch?", thinking it couldn't be done. He's a tough act to follow, but Schenker came out and proceeded to show us how it's done. Slicing into "Armed and Ready" our hero took us back 30 years through MSG history, eventually flying his V over London for Lights Out. Mike topped off the show with more Classic UFO like Rock Bottom, and Doctor Doctor. Mr. Schenker doesn't seem to be slowing down, so if you get a chance to see the legend on this anniversary tour, i would highly recommend it.

    Thank God for the HOB

by SchenkerFan on 8/4/10House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

I saw the tour last week agt the Altar bar in Pittsburgh. It was a disaster, the sound was terrible. Lynch Mob actually berated the sound engineer during the show. This week in Cleveland the show was perfect. George Lynch was truly amazing, Michael brought his "A" game. If you are reading this review you know who these guys are, and should already have your tickets. This was an amazing metal show.

    Schenker and Lynch kicked it

    by c6man on 8/2/10Jaxx Nightclub - Springfield

The show was absulutely great. Both played a great sets of their own music and also included some of their old music from Dokken and UFO. The venue could have used better air conditioning and much colder beer

    Awesome show

by webhype on 8/2/10Jaxx Nightclub - Springfield

Schenker was on and sober life is agreeing with him, his band was tight and Gary Barden sounded pretty good. Played alot from the first two MSG albums and some UFO. George Lynch was equally good and played a snippet of Dokken and a bunch of LynchMob with the original singer Oni Logon. Only problem with the venue is the stage is not raised enough so you see the performers from only about the waist up.

    Good show

Good show all around, quality bands, docking a star because the venue is standing only with expensive beer and minimal food

    Shenker In great form

by TShred on 8/1/10Jaxx Nightclub - Springfield

Schenker was very hot this show... I think having an opener the caliber of Lynch made him up his game. They played nearly every song recorded with Gary Barden (who sang great and looked good). The highlight for me was Lost Horizons. Was great to see Carmine Appice (a living legend) on drums. Lynch was very good also and was great to hear the original hits featuring singer Oni Logan. They opened with She's Evil--very unexpected and cool for an opening song. Drummer Brian Tichy was insane. The venue (Jaxx) left much to be desired... it was about 110 degrees no a/c, no ventilation, no smoking (understandable) no re-entry!!! (a real problem for my friends). Tiny men's room with troth for urinal. Old school PA w/ massive mains on each side-entirely too loud and blocked view. Stage was about 5 ft too low--very hard to see anything below the bands shoulders. If they raised the stage about 5ft, hung the PA from the ceiling, got a decent AC, expanded the bathroom and roped off a smoking section outside, it would be a nice place to see a show. I doubt if I will go there again. But even with all of that, This show was worth it. One of the best I've seen. A must for any fan of great guitar!

    Michael's best

by Anonymous on 8/1/10Irving Plaza - New York

Did not see the two opening bands and my friends said I did not miss anything. It was clearly a Michael Schenker crowd for the most part since the viewing area was packed when he took the stage. Prior to MSG, the Lynch Mob played a short 40 minute set mixing between Dokken and George's solo work. George Lynch can still play with the best of them but I think he has lost a little since I saw him over 20 years ago. To the contrary, I think the last two tours I saw Michael Schenker play with Gary Barden has proven the clean and sober lifestyle for MS has kept him way ahead of any past or present contenders for the Axeman title. The set consisted of Barden/Schenker work form the first album right up to the most recent release. Too bad much of the audience did not seem to recognize the newer material since it is just as good as the classics. One down note was the loss of Gary Barden's voice. He had it a year ago and maybe the touring requires a needed rest

    Schenker Rules

by jumpingforjoy on 8/1/10Jaxx Nightclub - Springfield

Hard to see even close. Stage too low. I was hoping on fewer bands and mor Axe Men. Hard to believe Schenker can still shred like that after all these years.

    Incredible Tone!

by GFitz on 8/1/10Jaxx Nightclub - Springfield

George Lynch is without a doubt, one of the top five electric guitarists in the world, no question! That being established, i also have to say that Michael Schenker has the best tone of ANY electric players, bar none! Hats off to Jay Nedry for keeping rock and roll alive in the D.C. area, almost singlehandidly, for sixteen years!!!!! Everybody give Jay his props!

Opening bands were 80's cover type. Good if that's what makes you happy. Awesome for the owner to welcome everyone to the 16th anniversary show. Lady bartenders were professional and courtious ( & pretty ) George Lynch & Lynch Mob had a great show by my observations. I would have liked to hear some Lynch / Plison mixed in with the Dokken. Michael Shenker is still ( after 30 years ) the beastmaster of the flying V and his way of making it talk from the heart. Many thanks to the owner and staff at Jaxx. I will make the drive from Hagerstown, Md. much more often.
