    Awesome show

by Oledog on 7/28/10Showcase Live - Foxboro

Got there early and got right to front row. Other than a few knuckleheads in the crowd it was an amazing place to see a show. Schenker was awesome. !!!!! Absolute 5 stars!

    Phenomenal guitarist!

by Anonymous on 7/28/10Showcase Live - Foxboro

My friend and I are huge Scorpions fans, especially the old RCA years when Michael Schenker was on guitar so we decided to go to Showcase Live in Foxborough to see the Michael Schenker Group with Carmine Appice on drums. We didn't recognize a single song as neither of us were familiar with UFO or MSG, but the guitar-play was absolutely AMAZING, venue was great (think it was at capacity on a Tuesday night), and we had a blast! Although the songs weren't familiar, the sound was definitely familiar. Michael played what had to be an 8 minute guitar solo during Rock Bottom that was one of the most incredible things I've ever seen.

    Top of his Game!

by Wazina on 7/19/10Galaxy Theatre - Santa Ana

Going to see MSG in the 80's was a real treat. After that it was like going to watch a car wreck. You know something really exciting is going to happen, you just don't know if it's going to be good or bad. This show and Michael were incredible. After all these years Michael seems to be back in top form. He was happy, very polite and humble, looking in very good health. I was so glad to see that maybe he's exercised his demons. BTW - he did shred, nearly perfect!

Schenker @ Angels Roadhouse - Yucaipa

by KarlB on 7/18/10Angels Roadhouse - Yucaipa

The small venue was great. The atmosphere was also great for this type of show. Got to meet some of the band members. During the show while he was playing one of his lead segments, he let me pick the strings on his flying V, a memory to be sure, being that he's one of my favorite guitarists. There were some opening acts, but one particularly stood out, The 9th circle. WOW !! Thats a band I'll be watching for. Great evening all the way around. I'll definately be watching their website to look for future upcomeing events that I may be interested in. We'll be going back just to spend the afternoon/evening there with my family and hang out for a game or two of pool.

    The mad axeman is back!!!

by digitaldaze on 7/17/10Galaxy Theatre - Santa Ana

If you are a UFO/MSG fan, and who isn't, the show is a must see. Michaels' playing has never been better, and his tone/stage presence are awesome as well. You get to see the legend, Carmine Appice on the drums, and Gary Barden returns on Vocals

    Michael is still a genius!

by killsing on 6/4/10Jaxx(springfield,Va- Baltimore,- Pennsylvania, -many different arena's - Springfield

I have followed this man throughout his entire long and fruitful career. From the Scorpions to UFO, to several different incarnations of MSG and he has rarely failed to amaze. He has gone through much in his life as he suffers from a Mental Health disorder(My opinion folks)and has lost his way several times but fortunately seems to levitate back to his comfort zone, the guitar. I am sure he feels at ease there. If you happen to be fortunate enough to get to see him, he IS known for NOT showing up on occasion and that is always a real drag but keep on trying to see him and you'll eventually get lucky and see an absolutely unforgettable show. He pours his heart and soul into his music and it shows! There is a very fine line between pure genius and outright insanity and he spends most of his life straddling that line. He has a new deal with boutique guitar maker "Dean" and they put out his signature model, the Dean USA Michael Shenker Signature Flying V" and it is a best seller, even at over $4000.00 plus due to its incredible quality, anyone that has ever been fortunate enough to own a Dean USA model of any kind knows what I am saying here, they are almost magical guitars, better by far than even the best Gibson "Custom Shop"pieces as well as Paul Reed Smith's many models and I do not say this lightly, but the truth is the truth. Go see Michael, and hopefully you will see one of guitars most mysterious performers and catch the magic he provides.
