The venue is a beautiful and historic building, but I think it's not really suited for stand up comedies. Some jokes, I think, were kind of inappropriate given that it was in the synagogue.

    Stand-Up at its absolute best.

by JamieLei on 12/3/11Sixth & I Historic Synagogue - Washington

Michael Ian Black rocked Sixth & I. I laughed the entire time. Not only did he keep the momentum, he managed to play to the audience, the odd venue and keep it intimate and hilarious. I had never seen him before, but several friends recommended the show. The style isn't slap-stick. He somehow makes you feel like you're at a party and the most hilarious person you've ever met is telling stories. Great jokes throughout the stories and then always with a thigh-slapping punch-line. I won't even get into my snorting laughter as he sang his way through an inspiring story about Creed. Highly recommend this amazing comic. He's a true talent.

I can't recomend him enough. His jokes were really funny. We were all laughing, even when he was joking about stuff like Penn State. It was the most I laughed all that week. The stories about his wife and kids were just to die for.

    Very Famous, Very Funny

by Cassiela on 11/13/11Trocadero - Philadelphia

Michael Ian Black was great. He told his jokes in the form of long stories, which I find more entertaining. He talked a lot about his family life, which was hilarious. He interacted well with the audience and seemed very comfortable on stage. He also had a good time relating to the audience, and brought in new jokes specific to the town.

It is a great show. We had not listened to his work in awhile so it was all new material to me. He interacts with the audience which is fun and ready a section from his book. I would see him again.
