    Best show of the year!

by colover on 7/8/13Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

If you are at all a Michael Franti/Spearhead fan, you would have loved this show. I brought my 5 year old daughter because she loves dancing to his music. She didn't do much yoga, but we found a spot in the shade for her and she loved hearing the music live. We went up to the stage and danced our hearts out just like we do at home and she had a blast. The yoga part was fun...it was hot, so if you go to a yoga show make sure you bring a lot of water. I dumped mine out at the entrance thinking we weren't allowed to bring it in. Michael Franti is such an inspiring human being, and you can just feel the love at all his shows. We waited after the show because my daughter wanted to give him a hug, and she started crying afterwards because it was so short...for her to wait in the hot sun for 45minutes until he got to us, I'm thinking she could feel the love too. Such a fun day!

Warrior rockin' the rocks with Franti

by Mandelrey on 7/8/13Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

What could be better than a private concert with one of the best musicians around?! Getting a workout along with it! Everyone at this event was uninhibited and freely moving to the beat of their own drum. We were left empowered and rejuvenated. The only thing that could make this event better is having it earlier in the day as it was held at noon in sweltering heat. Starting at 10 would be perfect!

    A Blast

by Raethon on 7/8/13Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

It was the most amazing time! All the people out there that are stressed and unhappy should attend a show like this. It had so much energy and you couldn't help but smile, laugh and just feel great to be a live!! And just feel positive about everything! Thank you Michael!

Magical event--consistent with Red Rocks' rep

by PGuide on 7/8/13Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

Yoga, Red Rocks, Michael Franti--what more do I need to say? It is the perfect trio! As usual I was touched by the magic that IS Red Rocks. As a Colorado native I've seen shows all the way back to John Denver. Franti and his yogini friends did NOT disappoint. Loved every moment from the second I entered the Red Rocks Ampitheatre Road. I'll be coming to this event again, if offered.

    More of a dance party

by Anonymous on 7/7/13Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

It was a great way to spend a summer afternoon. However, it turned into more of a dance party and most people would have enjoyed a bit more actual yoga.

Music was legit, the yoga not so much

by YogiMusicLover on 7/7/13Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

As always, Michael Franti delivered. The entire event pretty much felt like a small private show at Red Rocks--AMAZING. On the other hand the yoga left much to be desired. The instructor had a kitschy, cheerleader take to her teaching style --not my cup of tea. There was no structure to the class, it seemed like she just picked any pose. There was no official ending to the class. My body felt out of whack all day. This event was phenomenal for the simple fact that I was able to hear Franti with an intimate crowd, I could've done without the obnoxious yoga "instructor".

One of the best hours of my life!

by MissDrevno on 7/7/13Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

Yoga on the Rocks was incredible. Michael Franti is a musical genius, invigorating his listeners with love and happy thoughts. I can't think of the last time I had as much fun as I did at this event. I wish it happened every week! I was literally jumping with joy the whole time (in between downward dogs of course). I will absolutely be there next year!

    Yoga on the Rocks R O C K E D!!!

by TruE56 on 7/6/13Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

What an incredible experience!! Although, at first, I felt overwhelmed (w/the heat, the parking, the hike up, my own timing-- arriving later than I would have liked, the pace of the yoga "class", etc.), the more I sit w/the experience, the more the FULL-ness and the many blessings of the event keep washing over me like waves!! There was just SO MUCH to take in!!!! The music, of course, was a m a z i n g!!! I would have loved if it could have been a longer session (of course, there's no such thing as too much of a good thing!-- music and yoga both!) (and, also, b/c it would have been nice to have more of a yoga "class" feel... a bit slower-paced with more active descriptions). Really appreciate Michael's generosity and loving spirit as he visited w/the crowd before and after the show!!!! But, all in all, it was an incredible gift!!!! I really hope you do this again!!!! Great success!!!!

Music was great, Yoga was not.

by AdventurousZ on 7/6/13Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison

I loved this concept. I was very excited about the outdoor setting to do yoga accompanied by live music. Michael Franti had a great mix of different tempo songs, and played super mellow stuff while the teacher was instructing. That part of it was perfect. The yoga instructor unfortunately was terrible! I cannot believe they brought some amateur to lead the first Yoga on the Rocks, what a bust! She asked if there were people who had never done yoga before in the audience, (and many hands raised) and then she blasted through a very quick sequence, even for some experienced yogis. She also provided very little form information. I bet a lot of people hurt themselves out there. Then after one cycle, she had us just do it on our own a few more times (as if we remembered the long sequence). I didn't like how she didn't start slow and warm up the body, she just blasted into it. Then once we were working on our own, she started a dance party. It was totally goofy. The whole yoga class was like a few stretches and then dance party, and a squat and then dance party. We didn't even rest in the final pose. Which would have been perfect to some mellow Franti tunes. The poses we did do were random and were some of the more injury prone ones, which was ridiculous because there was no one checking form. It was a mess. Totally not worth $33. Oh and who chose noon for the start time. The hottest, sun blaring time of the day? I'm surprised people weren't passing out.

My son and I had an amazing time. Just what we needed as an event to be enjoyed by both of us. My son is excited to go again and has a new respect for yoga and Franti.
