Michael Franti is a musician, humanitarian, and filmmaker who is recognized as a pioneering force in the music industry. Franti believes in using music as a vehicle for positive change and is revered for his energetic live shows, inspiring music, worldwide philanthropy efforts and connection to his global fanbase. Once an outlier in his message of positivity minded political consciousness, Franti has found that message gaining momentum in the mainstream in recent years, a phenomenon that compelled him to push his artistry even further, stating "I feel a deeper sense of purpose in music today than I ever have in my career. My goal is to make the most inspiring music I possibly can for this intense, crazy and wonderful time we're all living in."
Michael Franti & Spearhead will be kicking off their "Stay Human" Tour at BottleRock Napa on May 26, 2018 and releasing their 10th studio album in June. This summer's tour features special guests, Dustin Thomas, HIRIE, AHI and Victoria Canal. Franti’s Stay Human full-length documentary, featuring songs from the new album, premieres at the Asbury Park Music + Film Festival on April 27 and will be screened at U.S. and International film festivals throughout 2018.
Great movie - very moving. I just wish we could carry the compassion and humanity out of the theatre with us after the show. We need constant reminders of this way to BE!
This event had opening video about his involvement and contribution to so many people in need, then s quick question and answer segment, then about 6 of his very uplifting songs that brought the audience into their feet. So good!
The Stay Human documentary was touching and inspirational. Michael's view on life and keeping a positive attitude and being able to portray that in his music and use his platform to promote positive change is something that every artist should do. The concert itself was filled with energy and positivity. Great event all around.
Michael Franti was amazing, accessible and a great story teller. His music is uplifting and full of positivity and love. Had dinner at the Canyon Club and the food is just awful and overpriced.
Michael Franti's concert at The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills was an intimate, inspiring event. I have been wanting to see him for many years, and it was worth the wait!!! The only nuisance was the server staff was continually confused before the concert. We were offered several meals that we had not ordered, much to the chagrin and frustration of the staff. But once the music started, it was all ok.
Everyone deserves Music, and Michael Franti is an ambassador of the human experience with a gleam in his eye, and a smile in his heart., and a beat to rock your soul. BUT FORGET THE CANYON CLUB - a more expensive, more uncomfortable venue does not exist. After paying the $60+ each to get in, we were forced to spend another $50+ per their rules on food/drinks to justify our seats. ( fine print said $25 minimum, but guess what? There were no $25 plates.) Food choices were meat meat and meat, and none of us could chew the low quality cuts. I should have just handed them my credit card and skipped the meal altogether. Really, I have seen Michael for Free, for $10, for $30 for $40. But that night cost the 3 of us over $400. I would gladly donate that to any of Michael's foundations and good works, but to a cavern like the Canyon Club, forget it. Never ever ever again will we go there. And we traveled from Tahoe just to see him after seeing him in our home town the week before.
Franti is such an amazing/inspiring human being. He takes the time to meet as many people as he can and includes everyone in his concerts! He is truly someone that knows what life is all about! Love, happiness and having relationships with ALL people. Highly recommend the song I'm Alive. It challenges you to be yourself and accept others for who they are as individuals. Makes me cry every time I hear it or even think about it. Such a beautiful message from a beautiful person!
Real. Fun. Great Energy to dance & inspiring lyrics.
Michael Franti & Spearhead were amazing!! I love the new songs! He is very personal and connects with the audience. It was a very fun show - had the best time!
These are two high energy, crowd friendly, powerfully talented performers. One of the best and most enjoyable shows I've seen in years.
This concert was absolutely amazing. The amount of giving from an artist had not been seen in quite some time. The entire atmosphere was filed with love and joy. I sang all the way home and I'm still Singing. Thank you Michael Franti and Spearhead for the Soul gift.
I have been a fan of Michael Franti for years and always wanted to see his live show because I knew he would put on a fun and excellent show. Wow, let me tell you it was beyond my expectations! Exhausting, energetic and exceptional! :)
The show was absolutely amazing. Franti has such great energy; he got the whole crowd dancing. The music was fantastic and the atmosphere was so positive. Can't wait to see them again!
This show rocked!! A must-go if Michael comes to your town.
Awesome show, great energy in one of my favorite venues.
It was awesome!!! Great music with a little bit of a workout - Perfect!!! Could have maybe done a little bit more yoga but loved all the opportunities to shake my booty!
Let me start by saying I have never had so much fun doing yoga! To start the atmosphere is absolutely stunning and who wouldn't enjoy being around so many people who dig yoga? Yoga on the rocks was great for everyone, I saw and know people of all skill level at the yoga show who had an absolute blast! Gina Caputo can lead an awesome yoga hour! I enjoyed every second of this hour of yoga!!
Good atmosphere and music, but I was hoping for a lot more yoga... I feel like it only lasted 10 minutes and the rest if the time they were trying to get us to dance. I know it was the first time but I feel like it could have been better prepped.
It took a while for Michael to finally get on stage but once he did as always a fabulous show. The Yoga at Red Rocks was great just hot
This was a one-of-a-kind experience! Red Rocks is a beautiful venue, it was a lovely, sunny day, Michael Franti and Jay sounded fantastic and were the perfect soundtrack to a fabulous yoga class led by Gina Caputo, an outstanding yoga teacher from Boulder, CO. There was a great turnout of yogis all ready for a fun practice on the rocks. The entire experience was AMAZING! I am so excited that I got to be a part of it!
