Best known as the star and executive producer of the hit series, THE CARBONARO EFFECT which ran for over 100 episodes on truTV and can now be seen on HBOMax, Michael Carbonaro is once again entertaining audiences around the country with his brand-new tour CARBONARO: LIES ON STAGE. A performing magician since his youth, Carbonaro went on to study experimental theater at New York University with the aspirations of entertaining audiences through a variety of theatrical mediums, including hidden-camera magic, which he later showcased frequently on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."
Following Carbonaro's frequent late-night appearances, Michael was presented with the opportunity to launch his hit comedic series, "The Carbonaro Effect," which has run for over 100 episodes on truTV. In this series, Michael performs inventive tricks on unsuspecting members of the public who are unaware that he is a magician. Jaws drop when he causes a car to disappear from under a security guard's nose or makes alien crabs transform into kittens in a science lab. Whether posing as a coffee shop barista, museum curator, or seemingly unremarkable store clerk in the REAL world, Carbonaro's illusions - along with his absurd, matter-of-fact explanations - leave REAL people bewildered and families at home laughing out loud.
Starting in 2016 Michael embarked on an incredible run for his first theater tour with the widely acclaimed show "Michael Carbonaro Live!" Entertaining hundreds of thousands audience members over more than 200 shows the tour cemented Michael as one of the most dynamic pure entertainers of his generation. by RozH on 10/24/23Beau Rivage Theatre - BiloxiI loved his show. He is so funny. I laughed out loud quite a few times. The magic was not exciting but was entertaining. We sat in the upper level and saw everything perfectly. Only negative is the seats are very narrow. Not comfortable.

by Bowman on 10/6/23I love magic. I grew up practicing tricks. I go out of my way to see magic shows when they are in town. It's with a heavy heart to say that this was the worst magic show I've spent money on. It's not a theatrical show. You can make up for minimal staging with good magic. This is not the case for Carbonaro. He had a few good tricks, but the act is better suited for a performance at a college's student union. There's a 15 minute piece that isn't magic, and the closing trick is underwhelming. Even if you know how a trick is done, it's cool to see the skill of it--- multiple maneuvers mixed with showmanship. Carbonaro's act is reliant upon a vibrant personality. Who's put on great shows? Justin Wilman, David Blaine, and Mat Franco.

Attending "Lies on Stage"was my birthday outing with my kids and we will have fond memories of the experience. This man's delivery and creativity are second to none. Would totally pay to see this show again. It was so cool! We talked about it for days after and will relive the moment for years to come.

His magic show partially relies on participation and the right audience. We picked a good show, the people he picked were awesome and we had a blast. Saw him before, will see him again!!!

As a fan of the TV Show the Carbonaro Effect I just had to purchase a ticket right away. I purchased a second row seat and downloaded the ticket to my apple wallet. At check-in I felt secure due to metal detectors and security at taft theatre. The overall performance was excellent. Lots of fun magic tricks and audience participation. Great event for going solo, or spending time with family and friends. I highly recommend.
