Miami Hurricanes at Watsco Center
Coral Gables, Florida, is home to one of the most competitive teams in ACC men's basketball. The Hurricanes play out of the on-campus Watsco Center, which first opened in 2003 as the University of Miami Convocation Center, and currently seats 8,000. They are coached by Jim Larrañaga, who previously led George Mason University to the 2006 Final Four before joining the Hurricanes in 2011.
Miami Hurricanes Men's Basketball History
Miami Hurricanes basketball has several distinct beginnings. The original University of Miami basketball team first took the court in 1926, but went dormant for the 1929-30 season, from 1932 to 1938, and from 1942 to 1945. In 1960, the Hurricanes made an incredible run to the Elite Eight under coach Bruce Hale. The legendary Rick Barry starred for the Hurricanes in the mid '60s, before a Hall of Fame career in the pros, and also before marrying coach Hale's daughter. However, the Hurricanes lacked a permanent on-campus arena, and had to play at the Miami Beach Convention Center 15 miles away. This contributed to low attendance and, in 1971, the "temporary" discontinuation of the men's program.
In 1983, a drive began to raise funds to restart the program, and on November 22, 1985, Miami defeated The Citadel 85-77 for their first victory in 14 years, en route to a .500 record against a tough schedule. Miami's second act included an initial three seasons at the James L. Knight Center, which was more of an auditorium than a field house, followed by a decade and a half at Miami Arena, before their first on-campus facility opened in 2003. In coach Leonard Hamilton's second season, in 1991, Miami joined the Big East, winning their first regular-season conference title during Hamilton's final season in 2000. In 2013, the Hurricanes won both the ACC regular season and conference tournament championship, on their way to a Sweet 16 appearance behind the play of sophomore guard and Lute Olson National Player of the Year recipient Shane Larkin.

Very will organized arena with free parking in nearby garage.
Nice little venue for basketball with good seating. Parking left alot to be desired hard to find a place for my bigger truck.
We had a great time at the event. It was our second time attending the game when Duke came into town. The stadium is clean, people friendly and helpful. We'll be back next year!
When I bought these tickets I didn't expect that the game would be for the ACC Championship. And it was senior game as well. What an awesome experience!
Great seats. Great atmosphere -- HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to the BUC and cheering on the CANES!
Why pay full price for a seat when you can buy one for $11 and then move down to the $50 seats? I paid full price and then was sandwichwed in between a bunch of cheap skates that were on their phones and talking the entire game. UM needs to stop this or they will lose the patrons that contribute the most.
Easy getting into the arena, love the game. The only problem was getting out of the parking garage. Utter chaos.
Amazing game and very nice place. It's ideal for kids who love basketball.
Great atmosphere, fantastic entertainment. Real nice arena.
A lot of fun. Nice venue for basketball. Crowd was electric.
Miami is a great place to go watch college basketball. The fans support and spirit was excellent.
Great seats! Loved the game minus the outcome. Our seats felt like we were playing in the game!
This was such a great experience for my grandson and me. The tickets were mailed to me in plenty of time and I was reminded via e-mail that the game was coming up. It was quite an afternoon of entertainment and I thank Ticketmaster for their part in making it so memorable.
BUC is kept up fairly well. The Canes Basketball team played great. It is a cozy atmosphere with good seats for everyone.
Let's put it like this: University of Miami Hurricanes playing basketball, at the BUC, walking ALL over Boston College. Done and done.
Great game, great time. They need to work on the food selection at the arena. They need some more healthy food options
Went with my son a Um grad had a really good time.
First time at BUC for me and my fiancé.had an awesome time, sellout crowd , beating FSU,atmosphere could'nt ask for anything better.
I had never been to a college basketball game so I did not have any expectations. The team is excellent and the BUC is a first rate facility. Very comfortable seats, excellent views, continual entertainment. I have season tix to the football games, with full confidence in Golden and Crew, but I wish I could say the same about the stadium.
