Miami HEAT History

Founded in 1988 as an expansion franchise, the Miami HEAT has since reigned as one of the NBA's premier organizations, laying claim to 16 Southeast Division titles, seven Eastern Conference titles, and three NBA Championships. After hiring renowned NBA coach Pat Riley in 1995, the team won its first Championship in 2006, led by Hall of Famers Shaquille O'Neal, Dwyane Wade, Alonzo Mourning, and Gary Payton. The HEAT then captured back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013 behind their league-altering trio, “The Big Three,” headlined by Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh. Today, the HEAT continue to build on that legacy, with All-Stars Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro leading a new era of competitive excellence.

  • Delay-free experience at AA Arena to watch amazing Heat!

    by M. P. on 6/2/21AmericanAirlines Arena - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

While the game 3 loss was disappointing, the staff at AA arena did an amazing post-covid job getting people into the venue and making the experience positive. My seat was great! I loved that everyone had a neatly folded blackout playoff t-shirt on their seat back! Many staff welcomed me and thanked me for coming to watch the HEAT! No long queues to enter or leave! Thank you!

Though our team did not do well we had a great time! The venue and the restrooms were clean. There was a bit of issue with food ordering they definitely need to get that under control

  • Best Experience ever!! First time going to a NBA Game!

by Mildred Vega on 3/5/20AmericanAirlines Arena - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time going to an event of this magnitude. I always watch it on tv and it’s not the same. The feeling of being there is just amazing. This is something that everybody has to do one time at least in their lives. I was so exited and i had a lot of fun during the game.

  • The Game is not the Feature Event

by ChillyN on 2/29/20AmericanAirlines Arena - MiamiRating: 2 out of 5

Don’t get me wrong, I like pro basketball a lot! Great game. The problem is the arenas are turning it into a spectacle. Fire, throwing t-shirts, useless dancers, 1000 attendants standing around doing nothing, and painfully LOUD. I’ll reconsider going to another NBA game. It’s a serious issue. PS. Great game, the Wolves won 129-126

  • L3gacy documentary

by 20th Century Heat Fan on 2/26/20AmericanAirlines Arena - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Took my mother, a mature 80+ Miami Heat fan, to this event as a birthday present. I was glad the event was affordably priced (tickets AND parking) and that the AAArena opened up the vendors for the full fan experience. Glad to see DWade at the screening - it hit the right note. AAArena staff was very welcoming (they always are) and made my Mom feel like royalty. Very helpful to my husband as well, who is disabled. My brother, a Portland Trailblazers fan, had only positive things to say about the Heat and the event and the atmosphere.(That usually never happens!) Only issue was that the sound was set for a full stadium- there weren't enough bodies to absorb the sound, so the sound was distorted and sometimes hard to understand. We are Heat fans from the early days. My Mom still lives in Miami Gardens and even though I live in Palm Beach county now, I will always look for more opportunities for my family to be a part of HeatNation events.

  • Awesome Experience

Loved learning more about my favorite player's early life and struggles in detail. Super inspiring and shows the kind of person he is.

  • astronomical

by Midi on 2/26/20AmericanAirlines Arena - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

A very emotional documentary. There is nothing like a true human story to move and motivate people. Specially when is coming from someone like Dwayne Wade. Showing his true life to the word proves that he is just as human as all of us. Its great to have such an important figure portray his true feelings, his tears, his thoughts, and the truth about what he has gone through. All of us that have gone through something like that can relate to his story. He is a true hero that came out of a dark place and into the light. With a strong mind and soul there is nothing you can't do. Being a child in any bad situation is heart breaking. Today I'm a strong woman with two wonderful sons. One is serving in the US Marines. But I too did not have a good childhood so I know what it is to go through that. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your story.

  • It was phenomenal

    by A. W. on 2/26/20AmericanAirlines Arena - MiamiRating: 5 out of 5

Watching the Documentary in the company with Dwayne Wade himself in audience. Gave his fans a better understanding of his decisions in life. It was a job well done. Flash thank you for inviting your fans into your world.

  • I loved the event!!!

by Angie on 2/26/20AmericanAirlines Arena - MiamiRating: 4 out of 5

This was so much more than I expected it to be... being able to experience the rollercoaster of emotions and memories that Wade has given to me as a fan was great, but being able to experience it alongside so many other fans in HIS house was immeasurable. When the lights would strobe during the accomplishments highlighted in the documentary, everyone went crazy! And that environment is the environment that we as Heat fans will always create. The only complaint is that the line was cut off too quickly to take photos with his jersey banner. Everything else was perfect!

  • It was amazing will never forget
