About

Metallica was formed by drummer Lars Ulrich and singer/guitarist James Hetfield in Los Angeles in 1981; since then, their astonishing career milestones include winning eight Grammys and selling over 125 million albums worldwide, including the critically-acclaimed Master of Puppets (1986), often cited as one of the most important metal albums in history. They are also one of the most popular and commercially successful touring acts in history — according to Pollstar, as of 2019 Metallica had sold over 22 million tickets and grossed $1.4 billion in touring since 1982. Metallica’s fifth studio album, Metallica (1991), famously known as The Black Album, has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide and features some of the band’s biggest hits: “Nothing Else Matters,” “The Unforgiven” and “Enter Sandman.” On six consecutive genre-defining studio albums (from 1991’s Metallica through 2016’s Hardwired… to Self-Destruct), Metallica has consistently debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In support of their 2023 album 72 Seasons, Metallica’s M72 World Tour will see the band playing two nights in every city they visit throughout 2023-24.

    Invigorating!

by Metal Lica on 11/9/23The Dome at America's Center - St Louis

To experience a two night show (for the first time) with completely two different playlists was remarkable. The excitement for the first night with some of my favorites (Master of Puppets, Fuel) could not be quashed, but to then have the anticipation for night two just welled up with my newly purchased concert T ready to go. To spend the weekend around this Metallica lifestyle was well worth the trip!!

    A tale of two concerts.

by Concert Veteran on 11/9/23The Dome at America's Center - St Louis

Friday night was great. The crowd, vibe, bands, showmanship. Sunday night was terrible. I have never seen so many people kicked out of a show in the more than 200 concerts I have been to in my life. I was assaulted three times just trying to get back to my spot after using the bathroom and it was between opening acts. So it was not the venue or the musicians, but our fellow concert goers that truly garbaged so much of the experience. If I were allowed to vulgar here I would definitely label them far worse than ignorant, thug-like jerks.

    3rd times a charm

by Jeremy on 11/9/23The Dome at America's Center - St Louis

3rd time seeing Metallica. 1998 in Cincinnati, 2019 in Cincinnati where they set an attendance Record at Heritage Bank Arena, and this time we drove to St Louis. We got the Frantic Early Entry package. Waited in line outside from 9am. Worth every second of the wait. Even got to shake the hand of Lars! Perfect set. Perfect show. Truly the best metal act out there.

Great Seats, Showmanship, and Amazing Catalog of Songs

by Centrik on 11/9/23The Dome at America's Center - St Louis

Having two nights of Metallica made the likelihood of my favorites being played and they didn’t disappoint. Only a couple other songs that I would’ve liked to hear and they don’t play that often which didn’t really phase me but they played everything else I wanted to hear especially No Leaf Clover and Memory Remains. The intensity of all the songs from Creeping Death, Harvester of Sorrow, and when Ride the Lightning kicked in was so amazing. Everything was spot on and the show is amazing, only wish I could’ve met some of the guys and the book signing didn’t sell out to quick haha but they were interactive and great.

    Great time

by Jeff G on 11/9/23The Dome at America's Center - St Louis

I absolutely loved Metallica. I watched both shows Friday and Sunday. The mix of songs was perfect. The opening songs got the crowd rockin. The stage was great, they could play to the whole crowd. The lights, fire and giants flat screens made it look awesome. And most of all they sounded excellent. Great great job Metallica.

    Master of Shows!

by Metalbrat on 11/9/23The Dome at America's Center - St Louis

What can I say? It was Metallica! I've seen them 5 times over the years and this was probably one of my favorite concerts. We only went for the Sunday show, but it was an excellent mix of old and new songs. They opened with Whiplash and gave an amazing performance of Blackened!

    The gold standard

by Frankie G on 11/9/23The Dome at America's Center - St Louis

Metallica proves why they are the greatest metal band of all time. Both nights were packed with some of their greatest hits, in addition to new singles from 72 Seasons. The sound quality was impeccable. The atmosphere electric. It was a once of a lifetime experience; and one I could enjoy twice in one weekend.

    Great first concert

by Anonymous on 11/9/23The Dome at America's Center - St Louis

Night 1 I arrived late missing most of mammoth but he sounded good. The crowd went crazy for Pantera letting Metallica build off of that energy as they went, but it was a slow build after coming off the high energy of Pantera. Night 2 Ice Nine Kills was an interesting theatrical event with good vocals but he said St Louis 14 times in the hour without much crowd response. FFDP had the crowd going nuts and even had some fun crowd interaction. Metallica had a better set list this night and was high energy the whole time they were on stage My only complaint was metallic taking at least another hour and a half to get on stage after the second band but would only give the the opening acts an hour. The crowd got bored the second night during the wait for metallic and made fireflies with our phones I hope they change up which songs they play at each city to make it a unique experience.

    Amazing

by Matt on 11/9/23The Dome at America's Center - St Louis

The whole weekend was great! Pantera sounded amazing, and yes I have seen them in the true lineup. This was by far the BEST I've heard Metallica in a very long time. They played something from each era.

    Faces Melted!!

by MikeG on 11/9/23The Dome at America's Center - St Louis

A great show, both nights the band were on and sounded fantastic. A great selection of songs and the 72 Seasons material sounded awesome live. Only complaint was the in the round stage left a lot to be desired, the Death Magnetic stage in the round was much better.
