About

This one-man fusion of theatre and stand-up is based on the New York Times #1 best-selling book of the last decade by John Gray. Moving swiftly through a series of vignettes, the show covers everything from dating and marriage to the bedroom but Men Are From Mars – Women Are From Venus LIVE! is more than just the book.

After beginning in Paris in 2007, Men are From Mars–Women are From Venus LIVE! has been seen by more than one million people around Europe. It debuted in the United States in February 2013 in Raleigh, North Carolina and will be playing to audiences around the United States and Canada throughout the year.

When Mars and Venus collide, the adventures are earth-shatteringly hysterical! This show will have couples elbowing each other all evening.

Sexy and fast paced, this show is definitely for adults. It’s a great recipe for a night out: a little storytelling blended with some comedy and a dash of sage wisdom from the book.

    Not the best

by Candy on 3/6/23Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - Indianapolis

I was disappointed because I was expecting more scenarios from the actual book. The show was mostly about his relationship with his wife, and very little reference to the book. I was expecting a few more laughs than what we got.

    Just Okay

by Just Okay on 3/6/23Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - Indianapolis

We enjoyed getting out but I would not recommend this show to anyone. Material is dated. If it was supposed to be just a comedian doing a bit, it wasn’t funny enough. If it was supposed to be marriage advice, it wasn’t good for that. It was very secular. Not complimentary to wives or husbands. The videos of author John Gray made it seem like a sales pitch for an old book. I understand this performance is not unique to one performer. Time to let this script go.

    Disappointing

by Lynn on 3/6/23Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - Indianapolis

There were three of us and we were not amused. The performer's jokes were lame and the voice that he used to quote his wife was annoying and mocking. Would have been much better with a man and woman representing their viewpoints.

    Funny but ....

by C. F. on 3/6/23Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - Indianapolis

.... it would have been much better with a man and a woman vs. only a man performing. I felt like it was one sided from the man's point of view. It did have some funny moments and the content has been updated somewhat. I don't think I'd seek it out to see again.

    Meh..

by Nicholas H on 3/6/23Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - Indianapolis

Venue was nice. Parking wasn’t inconvenient. Performance wasn’t that funny, clunky flow like it was new, yet stale in the delivery. Just my opinion.

    Hilarious

    by J. R. on 2/20/23

My wife and I got into a fight on the way to the play and literally every second we were poking each other saying “yes, this is you.” Brought everything into perspective and had a great evening after! Hilarious show and I would recommend every couple watch at least once.

    1. Not worth the ticket price to sit and hear relationship advice from 1 side of the relationship. It would have been better if there was a male and female on stage, not just a male. 2. He was funny but not all relationships are the same. What he was talking and doing works for him and his wife but other couples may not be like that and see things differently or are different people and have a different relationship and expectations. I took away nothing from this experience but a few laughs.

    EHH

by Terrie on 2/15/22Shea's 710 Theatre - Buffalo

It was just OK. Would have been much improved if there was a girl on stage as well as the guy giving scenarios and then how each gender reacts differently to the same situation instead of just having him perceive how a girl might react.

    Just OK

by Insanely Awesome on 2/14/22Capital One Hall - Tysons

Really not worth seeing the show. The venue and parking were very nice as well as location in Tysons corner. I will definitely return to the venue for other shows. This particular show is definitely not worth it. It’s basically a one-man show and very mildly engaging. I wonder how a aging guy (John Gray) can really talk about relationships. I’d love to see what his relationships are truly like. I’m also probably about 15 years older than the guy presenting the show and was wondering the whole time whether I should be giving him relationship advice or the other way around. It was basically more of a TED talk then and entertaining show. The point of the show however is entertainment. In my opinion it failed to do that. I left at the intermission.

    It was okay

    by E. G. on 2/14/22Capital One Hall - Tysons

It was fun, but I wouldn’t see him again. There were good jokes but not real funny. Or it was the funny that we always hear about men and women.

    For the older generation

by rai2020 on 2/14/22Capital One Hall - Tysons

My husband and I are in our thirties, and we were definitely not the target audience for this show. The references made, the sense of humor, the way jokes were told, was definitely for the older generation. Which is strange because the performer was in his 30s-40s, but target audience is probably 50s-60s. We still had fun as this made it funny in a different/unintended way, but it would be helpful if this was more clear in the marketing.

    Didn't do it for me

by Pamela on 2/14/22Capital One Hall - Tysons

Lots of people were laughing, but I didn't find it that funny. I appreciated the energy and skill of the performer but really found the films with John Gray the highlight.

    Great venue - ok show

by Anonymous on 2/14/22Capital One Hall - Tysons

Capital one hall is a beautiful venue with comfortable seating and lovely facilities. The show Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus was a bit dated and scripted- with video snippets from the book author many years ago and a live comedian that seemed more scripted than truly entertainment.

    Just ok

by Showgirl on 2/14/22Capital One Hall - Tysons

Wasn’t what I expected. It was a very ordinary story about relationships nothing new. Seemed like all the women forced their husbands to attend

    Men are definitely from Mars!

    by Pittsford2 on 2/26/20Shea's 710 Theatre - Buffalo

The actor was terrific and very good at being able to ad lib during the performance, depending on the audience's actions. The Theater was very comfortable with the most legroom I have ever experienced. The view was unobstructed because of the shape and slope of the theater. Highly recommend.

Good performer but overall lacking in engagement

    by S. B. on 2/17/20Ames Center - Burnsville

The actor was good, but ultimately the show fell flat and I left very early after intermission. It became predictable and bland with obvious references that were very cliche. Maybe more entertaining if you haven't read the book or understand relationships.

Disappointed, the material he has to work with... could have been so much funnier.

    One Man show?

    by babs592 on 2/16/20Shea's 710 Theatre - Buffalo

We would probably never have gone if we knew it was a one man show. We left during intermission. We could not identify with it. Too stereotypical.
