Melanie Fiona is a bright, young R&B artist and Kanye West protégé from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Born Melanie Hall, the singer grew up in inner-city Toronto to Guayanese parents. Fiona developed a passion for music at an early age, influenced by groups and artists such as the Ronettes and Whitney Houston. It's no surprise, then, that she offers a throwback retro sound to complement her immaculate voice. Though she has been active in the music industry since 2002, her first recorded release came with Reggae Gold 2008, in the form of the track "Somebody Come Get Me." The track was instantly acclaimed as a highlight, as well as a fan favorite on the album, and it helped her get signed to Universal Motown. Fiona released her debut single, "Give It to Me Right," which samples "Time of the Season" by the Zombies. Fiona's melismatic and dynamic vocal propelled the single to the Top 20 on the Canadian Hot 100, in addition to charting on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart. Her debut album, The Bridge, was released in the fall of 2009, and was a Top 25 album on the Canadian Album Chart. The album which was spearheaded by Andrea Martin, and its lead single also charted in the U.K. and Italy. First I really love Melanie songs and style. However I take it personal when artist start the show 22 minutes late. This was my second time seeing her in the Washington area both times Late. The show as very short only 1 hour not happy with that
I am so glad Melanie Fiona is back! She is truly an amazing vocalist and a great performer. She really know how to connect with her audience. Her set was only a little over 1 hour, but the venue was intimate so it was okay. Would go see her again!

I attend this event for my 28th birthday and I am sooo glad I did. I never heard Black Alley before and instantly fell in a LOVE. Melanie truly did her thing too! Great to see that she is so down to earth!
The opening act seemed good, can't quite give a great stamp because they were so loud my ears are still ringing. Melonie however brought the soul and never skipped a best. Great singer great performer.

Vocally, she sounds just like her albums! She was very energetic, crowd pleasing and overall entertaining.
I am a big Melanie fan. She puts on a great show and her voice never cease to amaze. This show was a little more intimate type setting because of the venue. She was a crowd pleaser singing some requests from audience which included her youtube covers. The way that she sung her set was an "emotional rollercoaster"; going from falling in love to breaking up. LOVE HER!!
There was nothing disappointing about her or her team, she came through and delivered from start to finish! Will definite see her again.
This was my first time watching Melanie Fiona Live and I was glad to see her perform. She is so natural, and interacted with the audience very well. I loved her performance of the song "Fool for you" , Best one of the night. I also liked her rapping and when she sang the song "Started fro the bottom". The show was less than two hours long, I wish she could have stayed a bit longer. Definitely going to go see her again if she comes back to DC.
This was my first time seeing Melanie Fiona perform. I was more than pleased, I was mesmerized. Her music is full of emotion. We need more Melanie Fionas in the world. She doesn't just sing the song, she makes you feel it. I missed that. I will forever be a fan. She's uplifting and let's you know you aren't alone in your everyday struggles and you will be ok. I love her. I can't wait to see her again. She's the best.
