Melanie Fiona is a bright, young R&B artist and Kanye West protégé from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Born Melanie Hall, the singer grew up in inner-city Toronto to Guayanese parents. Fiona developed a passion for music at an early age, influenced by groups and artists such as the Ronettes and Whitney Houston. It's no surprise, then, that she offers a throwback retro sound to complement her immaculate voice. Though she has been active in the music industry since 2002, her first recorded release came with Reggae Gold 2008, in the form of the track "Somebody Come Get Me." The track was instantly acclaimed as a highlight, as well as a fan favorite on the album, and it helped her get signed to Universal Motown. Fiona released her debut single, "Give It to Me Right," which samples "Time of the Season" by the Zombies. Fiona's melismatic and dynamic vocal propelled the single to the Top 20 on the Canadian Hot 100, in addition to charting on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart. Her debut album, The Bridge, was released in the fall of 2009, and was a Top 25 album on the Canadian Album Chart. The album which was spearheaded by Andrea Martin, and its lead single also charted in the U.K. and Italy. Melanie sounded amazing singing live, she took control of the staged and owned it. Her sound wasn’t right, she stopped the song. When the music was louder, she was able to her herself it sounded amazing. She sounded just like the album. Melanie was a definite treat. Congratulations on the new baby

Missed her performance several times before in the Washington, DC area and this was the fist time I got to see her in person. Spell Binding and just one of the BEST. We saw her at Howard Threatre. Small enough venue to get that up close and personal experience. Everything about the show was #GREAT. I hope to see her again before her next album drops. And yes, she treated us to new music. Looking forward to her new album. She is a must see! Her vocals are great and she has a peaceful energy.She was also on time.

Melanie Fiona left everything on the floor. She gave 110%. She is a consummate performer and a natural songstress and not to mention beautiful. She is raw, authentic and full of passion and heart. One of the best shows ever! You can't help but fall in love with her style of delivery. Her voice is angelic but yet still powerful and authoritative. You take notice when she sings. She is sultry and draws you in when she sings about love with all it has to offer, the good and the bad. She has a long, prosperous career ahead of her. Would love to see her again!
Melanie was on her game Saturday night, she was amazing from start to finish, sang all of her hits, and a couple of new songs. It was a party in the Birchmere!
The voice on this woman is AHHHMAZING! She came out and gave a dynamite performance. Her heart, soul and emotions were all balled up into 1 on each song she sang. She doesn't have a ton of material out and since The Birchmere is but so big, she only had a 3 piece band and limited songs, but boy did she wow the crowd with the songs she sang. She came back for an encore performance and did some acapella songs and they were fabulous! I would highly recommend you going to see one of the few TRUE SINGERS out there preforming, if she ever comes to your town. A genuine person, with a beautiful talent! I HEART HER!

Melanie Fiona is pure talent. She has a silky, soulful, voice that relaxes the mind, warms the heart, and lifts the spirit. She went off script and took song requests from the audience which was refreshing and cute. She sounds just like her recordings and better. And she is visually as beautifull as her voice. There is no doubt that GOD created her to bless the world with her amazing talent!!! What a treat!!!
