MEG MYERS IN CONCERT:

Meg Myers is one passionate performer, and audiences can't help but feel what she's feeling at her emotionally charged live shows. The intensity in her recorded work is superbly amplified when she performs, resulting in a wildly satisfying concert experience for lucky ticket buyers. Her catalog is filled with gritty tunes about sex and heartbreak, from the yearning angst of "Desire" and the scream-filled aggression of "Head Head Heart" to the soft intimacy of "Morning After". Onstage Myers expertly communicates a huge range of emotions, delivering her songs with a raw voice that's wickedly fierce one minute and heart-wrenchingly vulnerable the next.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Singer-songwriter Meg Myers was born in Nashville and grew up in Tennessee's Smoky Mountains. As a teenager she discovered alternative bands like Nirvana and Alice in Chains and began writing her own songs and teaching herself to play the guitar, piano, and bass. At 19 she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a music career and spent the next few years playing local and working as a waitress. In 2012 she met producer Doctor Rosen Rosen, a prominent remixer who's worked on tracks by Lily Allen, Britney Spears, M.I.A., and Lady Gaga. He signed Myers to a production deal and the duo collaborated on her debut EP, 2012's Daughter In The Choir. After her song "Monster" gained traction online, she penned a deal with Atlantic Records and released sophomore EP Make A Shadow in 2014. Standout singles "Desire" and "Heart Heart Head" impressed critics with their fearless lyricism and dark themes, earning her comparisons to Fiona Apple, Alanis Morisette, and Patti Smith. Since then Myers has gained a stellar reputation on the live circuit with tours alongside Broods and The Pixies and show-stopping performances at Lollapalooza and the Governor's Ball.

Meg was fantastic! Lighting and venue were bad

by AudioMech on 5/27/23The Regent Theater - Los Angeles

Everything about Meg's performance was amazing. I loved her solo set. She's so expressive and commands your attention. The Regent is not the best venue. The lighting designer kept aiming the lights on the crowd and not Meg. She was backlit the whole time with barely any front light. Photos turned out bad. Since she was set up mid stage, she ended up getting buried in the background. Additionally, the sloped theater floor of The Regent makes it uncomfortable to stand for entire show. Granted there's no bad place to stand due to the slope. There were some technical issues with her wireless in ears /monitors. It didn't seem like there was a stagehand on hand to help. But instead, her own stagehand had to assist. But didn't solve the issue.

    Awesome!!

by Kiko on 5/26/23The Regent Theater - Los Angeles

It was Awesome to meet her again and hear her thoughts and feelings about how her new music really describes who she is and where she sees herself at this time in her life. It was Great to see her back on stage and performing once again after a personal reflection break. Can't wait for the next show.

Meg Myers, Band of Silver & Weathers

by kchip1 on 5/26/23The Regent Theater - Los Angeles

We didn’t know that there was going to be 2 opening bands! They were awesome! Meg was very good, but Band of Silver and Weathers stole the concert! We listened to their music during the drive back to Las Vegas…

    Great time!

by Anonymous on 5/16/23Culture Room - Ft Lauderdale

Small private venue so we were close to the stage. Started on time, good visuals, affordable price, excellent opening band Weathers, and surround sound immersive musical experience.

    unique experience

by cr on 5/15/23The Loft - Atlanta

Seeing Meg Myers at the Loft was a great intimate experience. I felt bad that she was so sad when performing, but appreciated her vulnerability and transparency that made her performance and the audience feel more connected with her and the music.

    Not good

by Sadie on 5/10/239:30 CLUB - Washington

Meg myers basically sang to a recording, lacked stage presence and had tons of tech difficulties. It wasn’t a good show and I think her label is stopping her from having a band and performing her best. Sad because she’s a good artist.

    Awesome venue and great show!

by Deo741 on 5/9/23The Wonder Bar - Asbury Park

The Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, NJ is a great place to watch a show. We stood at the bar in the back and still had a great view of the stage and the sound was plenty loud. We could also walk onto the dance floor near the stage for a closer view. The warm up Band of Silver got the crowd's energy going, then Weathers came on and took over the venue. They are awesome as a live band, even though their bass player got hurt that day and couldn't perform. Meg Myers had her usual energy and passion flowing, she is such a talented and spiritual performer. We will definitely be back to The Wonder Bar for future shows and will watch to see Weathers and Meg Myers perform again in the future.

    Meg Myers does karaoke

    by Lynn on 5/8/23

Let me start off by saying that the two opening acts, Band of Silver and Weathers, were amazing. Weathers, especially had an energizing stage presence and got the crowd amped up in anticipation of Meg hitting the stage. Then someone let the air out of the 9:30 Club. To say Meg Myers was a disappointment would be an understatement. Don’t get me wrong, her voice was spot on, but it was just her singing over recordings of her music. No band, just her. She did a few acoustic songs, which I would have been happier with than what essentially boiled down to Meg doing karaoke. She has zero stage presence and needed constant reassurance from the audience as she performed. People left in droves once they realized what was going on, and if I hadn’t driven two hours to get there, I would have done the same. There was only ~25% of the crowd left by the end. I am so angry and let down by this experience that I can’t even listen to her recorded music and wager that it’ll be a while before I’ll be able to again.

Felt bad for the artist. Again

    by D303 on 4/24/23Marquis Theater - Denver

The sound issues Marquis is known for reared their ugly heads for this show as well. Super disappointed in the way this went.

Go see her but be forewarned!

by Livestruck on 4/23/23Marquis Theater - Denver

Meg Myers is always super present and authentic - her singing was amazing. However, I wish I knew she was touring solo without a band. She plays a bunch of instruments, there is a full backing track (its not an acoustic set), and her new songs work great in this format. I was personally just really missing the full energy of a band.

    MEG MYERS IS HER

by Bradley on 4/23/23Marquis Theater - Denver

Despite some technical difficulties early on in the set, she still absolutely shined performing all by herself. Seeing her live only confirmed for me that what makes her music so good is her.

    Mad Respect!

by Echo on 4/23/23Marquis Theater - Denver

The Weathers absolutely killed it. After seeing them at the black sheep four years ago, I can say they’ve gotten even better and are still one of my favorite bands. Meg Myers was a total solo act. She plays guitar, bass, piano, and drum while singing. And she is still the one who triggers all of her backing tracks. When there were technical difficulties, she went acoustic and blew us all away with her unique sound. I have so much respect, admiration, and love for Meg Myers as a musician and a person. What an absolutely amazing show.

    Incredible show!!

by RockStar19992005 on 10/25/18House of Blues Chicago presented by Cricket Wireless - Chicago

First time seeing Meg. All I will say is, not ONE bad song the whole night!! I also admired the confidence it took to have 12 of the 16 total songs be off her NEW album. Pretty much all bands only maybe a few new songs off their "new album", but the fact is the album is great. I don't think she's capable of writing a band song honestly. My show was on her actual birthday (10/6), so we got to sing Happy Birthday for her during the show while she blew out candles on a cake. Was nice. Highly recommended!! I don't plan on EVER missing another one of her Chicago shows again! And neither should you!

Great Show at a Classic Venue!

by JensHappyPlace on 10/18/18House of Blues Chicago presented by Cricket Wireless - Chicago

This was my first show at House of Blues and it did not disappoint. I liked the smaller, more intimate concert, the price was great, and everything was clean, unlike a lot of concert venues. And Meg Myers has such a powerful voice in a such a tiny body! It was great to finally see her live. I love her 2nd album. Been listening to it nonstop!
