Coolio & Tone Loc: great. MC Hammer: not so much.

by swirlbabysteph on 8/16/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - Clarkston

The Coolio and Tone Loc portions of the concert were awesome! It was so great to rock out to some old school music. Tons of fun! MC Hammer's portion was a little we. He performed some of his well-known stuff, but a few songs were cut short......especially Hammer Time. He performed less than half of the song before it just faded out! What a terrible way to end a concert! Overall, my friends and I had a blast.

    Mchammer was unbelieveable

by Cyoungdetroit on 8/15/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - Clarkston

Mchammer koolio and tone loc were great. It was worth every dime and more. Mchammer keeps reinventing himself plus helping the youth. He will continue to be blessed. His ability to dance is a gift and he should be a judge on that dance show. He is phenomenal. He is inspiration to all age groups. Those that missed the show. Missed a legend at his peak.

Hammer gave the bomb show last night. His dancers were great and he sang all his hits. If you didn't go, you missed it!

    Mc Hammer is the man!

by 1922Diva on 8/15/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - Clarkston

I enjoyed his show. It was clean and energetic. I'm glad the youth dancers were not doing derogatory moves as most youths do today. The best part of the show was that he took out the time and HONESTLY thanked God for all His blessings! His worship was truly genuine. The disappointing parts of the show was that Hammer did not dance much at all, hardly even. He let the background do it for him and DTE cut off the show in the middle of his performance.

    Mc Hammer

by Driven1 on 8/15/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - Clarkston

Incredible! We were 4 rows from the front, and Hammer still has got it! Coolio was a bit annoying, but Gangsta's Paradise was worth the wait. MC Hammer came into the audience several times, let people on stage, and we were able to dance on stage as well. It was simply a good time, with some of my old favorites, some new re-mixes of the old songs and some new songs. Mc Hammer also features a very good dance crew. The venue, DTE Energy theater was very nice, and could possibly be my favorite venue I have been to. There is a vast "courtyard" that is well maintained with plenty of drink and eating option. They even have a bar and grill with a club style atmosphere. The entire seating area is covered as well. Only the cheap lawn tickets, and maybe some of the seats on the edges would be open to the elements.

Coolio & Tone Loc rocked! Hammer a little let down

by Chrissylynn on 8/15/09DTE Energy Music Theatre - Clarkston

I was pretty excited to see Hammer, Tone Loc & Coolio. Tone Loc & Coolio were really good! I must say that I was a little disappointed that Hammer wasn't live. Hammer played "Can't Touch This" last & because of a noise ordinance, the song got cut off so we didn't get to hear the whole song. He had 2 guys break dance to "The Adams Groove" but he didn't rap it, it was just the music playing. I could have done with out that if we could have heard all of "Can't Touch This". It was a good show for the price & everyone seemed to have a good time.
