    Smooth groove like never before

    by FiFi323 on 3/22/10Boutwell Auditorium - Birmingham

I really enjoyed the Maze featuring Frankie Beverly and guests. K'Jon was good. He has a real natural sound. Baby Face was unforgettable and when El Debarge came out I almost passed out. It was great. Then came the finale. Frankie Beverly just gets better and better as the years go by. Such stamina for a man of his years. Without a doubt the best performances I have ever seen in a concert in the Ham. This was a chart topper.

Maze featuring Frankie Beverly with special guests

by AnthonyL on 3/22/10Boutwell Auditorium - Birmingham

Maze w/Frankie Beverly were fantastic, out of site, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and their performance. Baby Face was excellent. I loved his performance and appreciated his surprise guest "El Debarge". K'Jon should be embarassed. That was a nonprofessional performance. He sung for about 15 minutes. I'm sorry his band was left in Miami, FL, as he stated, but this show has been booked for more than 2 months, there's no excuse. I paid $211.00 for my tickets and K'Jon robbed me!

this concert was excellent! Babyface was great and his special guest of El DeBarge was fantastic! And of course, there are no words to describe Frankie Beverly and Maze. This was a terrific concert.

    FRANKIE B IS TIMELESS

by BAMANEZ on 3/22/10Boutwell Auditorium - Birmingham

Frankie Beverly is like going to a Baptist church. It is truly a revieval of spirit and of mind. That's the Golden Time of Day.

This was an amazing concert. It was more like a big party than a concert.

The concert was so amazing, I mean babyface, Frankie Beverly and maze put on a standing ovation type performance. I really enjoyed the show and probably can say the same for everyone there.

    Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly

    by Sandman1 on 3/22/10Boutwell Auditorium - Birmingham

I think Maze and Babyface gave a great perfomance. I was very disappointed a t K' Jon performance and would not see him again without his band. My wife and I bought tickets on the floor and could not see the performers because the country folks there stood up the entire time. If you ar going to host additional shows at the Boutwell I would suggest that big screens be use so people can the see the entertainers.

Maze Futuring Frankie Beverly, BabyFace, Kjon...

    by positive54 on 3/22/10Boutwell Auditorium - Birmingham

This event was excellent. I enjoyed all acts, however, if Kjon's band was there it would have been even better but overall high marks are given for this event. It was quite a show and I had a great time.

Frankie B & Babyface were the bomb!

by BirminghamDiva on 3/22/10Boutwell Auditorium - Birmingham

I originally hesitated about purchasing these tickets because they were $100 a piece, the concert was on a Sunday , and I had to work the following Monday. However, this was totally worth the exhaustion that I felt at work on Monday! This concert was the bomb! This was probably my fiftieth time seeing Frankie Beverly and Maze but was my first time seeing Babyface. I have always been fond of Babyface but I really purchased the tickets for Frankie Beverly and Maze. Babyface showed up and showed out! He rocked the house!!!!! I nearly stopped breathing when El Debarge showed up. Frankie Beverly was definitely "Back in Stride Again"! When I last saw him in concert, he appeared a bit frail and his voice wasn't at its best. However, Heeeeeee's back! I loved it...Loved it. I wish I had a rewind button so that I can see it all again!

by SexyyRed on 3/22/10Boutwell Auditorium - Birmingham

Debarge appeared unplanned and took this concert over the top. It was one of the best I've been too. Ladies, all the men, Frankie, Maze, Babyface, Kjon, and Debarge were on point live to listen too and FINAH to look at!

FRANKIE B AND MAZE WAS AWESOME

    by VHAYES01 on 3/22/10Boutwell Auditorium - Birmingham

Frankie Beverly and Maze were awesome, as usual. It was truly a workout for me and I enjoyed every min of it. If a 63 yr old man can jam without having any difficult, there is certainly no excuse for anyone not to get up and boogie on down and party with him and his crew. Me and my spouse go to Essence every year just for the closing act on Sunday nights. However, I believe Frankie announced that last year was their last year performing at Essence. I hope that is not true as they make the show! I have been going to see this goup since the 70's and yes I am only 47 but I would frequent the event with my sister and her boyfriend, LOL! Let me say, anytime I hear Frankie..... I say where and when and if near, I am there! I love the group and I love to see Frankie B put his heart and soul into his music... it just makes you feel what he feels as his unique vocals release such greatness! Keep doing what you do! Making beautiful music together. V

    Wonderful concert

    by dlibra66 on 3/22/10Boutwell Auditorium - Birmingham

I really enjoyed the opening act from Atlanta; K'Jon was ok but could have done without him singing over recorded tracks. Babyface was wonderful like seeing an old friend again after a long absence and when he brought El DeBarge to the stage OMG. As a child of the 70's and 80's it could not have been any better!! And what can I say about Frankie...Frankie is Frankie!!! Always gives a good show; never disappoints all while making 63 look very desirable. Good music good time!!!

by Sexyblack123 on 3/7/10Shreveport Municipal Memorial - Shreveport

I attended the Frankie Beverly and maze concert! And, I must say frankie was the best ever. Babyface was really great 2 and i enjoy his music. Yet, i'm a big time maze fan. My daugther took me for my 41st B-day 2 me that was the best ever. Mr. Frankie got it going on and he looks so handsome for an older guy.

    Maze featuring FrankieBeverly

    by exfan12 on 12/14/094th and B - San Diego

This was the worst event I have ever attended. We had to wait for hours before any one took the stage. The opening act was two hours late. When they finally took the stage, the micro phone and equipment did not work. This after the crew tested the equipment for two hours as we waited for someone to come on stage. No one had the decency to come to the stage and inform us why the long long waits. We just sit here as they played oldies. Once the GROUP, 'Impromptu" took the stage we saw that we were lucky the mic didn't work . They were awful!. I enjoyed the comedian, but we had another long wait after he finished. Again , this was the worse event that we have attended in San Diego ., This event was ghetto fabulous! Once I find out who organized this event, I will never attend another event sponsored by them!

The concert did not start on time, the time published was 7:00pm, the doors were not opened until 7:00pm, The show did not start until about 8:10-8:15pm and the sound was terrible so therefore another 20-30 minutes elapsed to perform sound checks. The comedian was interesting, But when he departed the stage he stated Frankie would be on in 5 minutes, it was more like 45 minutes to 1 hour 10:30pm to be exact before Frankie Beverly and Maze made their appearance. This was my first Maze concert, but Frankie is 63 years old; he shared this bit of information during a pause between sets. His voice has changed with age of course. The band was good so the audience could still remanice from the hits of long ago and are still favorites. But Frankie's voice has deteriorated with age.

I truely enjoyed the performance. I would suggest turning the lead singer's mic up a notch to make him stand out more. It seemed like he was straining to be heard at times.
