    Maze is a-mazing!

by Caroljo on 7/15/09House of Blues Myrtle Beach - Myrtle Beach

Maze featuring Frankie Beverly is more than a concert, it is an experience! This is one of the few performances in which the audience is just as much a part of the act as the talented musicians and singers that grace the stage. Beverly at 62 was electric, booming out familiar lyrics (and jamming) for almost two hours. The audience stood, swayed and danced along with him from the opening song until the last verse. Beverly, in his soothing voice sang of joy and pain, the golden time of day, life, living, and the strength of good relationships. The mutual love and respect visually demonstrated between the original band members on stage flowed out to the hundreds of people in the audience who have followed the group year and after year (This is probably my 8th or 9th concert). I made a promise to take my children to the next concert within driving range. Frankie Beverly and Maze are a cultural treasure that I don't want them to miss.. Their lives as has mine, will be richer for the experience.

    Maze & frankie simply amazing

by CAB05 on 7/14/09House of Blues Myrtle Beach - Myrtle Beach

The show was amazing. It felt like you were there just you with frankie beverly and maze. They have been around for a lot of years and have some age on them but you couldn't tell it . They were just as good if not better then a lot of artist today in concert. Being at the house of blues made it even better. It was an intimate setting. Great lighting, little sound problems. Atmosphere was great. Felt like one big family reunion enjoying the great music of Frankie Beverly & Maze.

Maze featuring Frankie Beverly was AWESOME

by Scilla on 7/14/09House of Blues Myrtle Beach - Myrtle Beach

Bring Frankie Beverly back again and again and I will come to see them every time. I love the fact that there were no reserved seating and it was opened because you don't go to Frankie Beverly show to sit down. Everyone at the House of Blues were very nice. The show was the baum. He gave me his towel and a bottle of water.

MAZE feat. Frankie Beverly were AWESOME!!

by BigSexyLes on 7/14/09House of Blues Myrtle Beach - Myrtle Beach

This was the best concert I"ve ever been to in my life. I'd heard over the years that they put on an amazing show, but I never allowed myself the opportunity to see them. It was absolutely magical; I was in a state of euphoria. This is one awesome band. Mr. Beverly is 62 years old, and I tell you what; he can STILL throw down!! They sung so many of their hits from the 70's, 80's and 90's as well. True artistry; beautiful singing and awesome instrumentation - no lip synching and synthesizers here pal!! If you love great R&B and haven't had the opportunity to see them in concert, please go; you won't be disappointed!

    Too much too soon

by Jamaycafan on 7/14/09Newark Symphony Hall - Newark

I am a huge fan of Frankie Beverly and Maze and I hate to say that this show was NOT his best. I personally believe, from looking at his tour date schedule, after I saw this show, that this event should have been planned for a later date so that his vocal chords could rest. He was obviously hoarse from the past two nights of performing and should have given himself some time in between dates to rest from shows on July 10th & July 11th. July 12th should not have even appeared on his schedule. Not to be forgotten was the fact that he just did the Essence Music Festival the beginning of July. As for his band, MAZE, they were FANTASTIC, especially his guitarist (young guy from NJ)! I've seen Frankie Beverly and Maze in the past and never sat down from the first song to the last. But not this time. However, I'm not giving up on him, but please note that the next time I pay for tix to see Frankie Beverly, I will check out his tour date schedule FIRST and FOREMOST to see if I am going to get a quality performance or not! And trust me, I'm sure Frankie recognized it himself. I was in the front row and the audience was quiet and watching him struggling with his voice. He couldn't even lip-sync. Yikes!

    My Maze Experience

by Simp on 7/14/09House of Blues Myrtle Beach - Myrtle Beach

I have always wanted to see Maze and Frankie Beverly since my teenage years. I'm now 47 years young and just got to see one of the best groups that has ever performed in life. That was the best darn concert I've ever been to....EVER. The group sounded just like their records. Everyone there was singing along and they gave us some extra stuff too. I came expecting to be so far away because I had general admission tickets and was about an hour late, but the way House of Blues, Myrtle Beach, SC is set up, EVERYONE had a bird's eye view no matter where you were in the theater. I was so close I could touch the stage. There was room to dance and a bars on each side of me to get cooled down. Not only did Maze NOT disappointment me, but HOB had a lot to do with my having such a good time. I can't wait for my next favorite group to be there. I'm Ol'Skool.

This was my second time seeing Maze, the first time was three years ago and they were exceptional then. This show however surpassed my expectation and I can't wait to see them again in the near future. Louvenia

    Great Show!

by funkdame on 7/14/09Atlantic One Amphitheater At Carolina Crossroads - Roanoke Rapids

While I couldn't really get with Calvin Richardson constantly apologizing for being late (which nobody knew about until he mentioned it b/c the show started on time), Wayna was outstanding. Hadn't heard of her, but will be picking up an album or two. Frankie and Maze were amazing as usual! He talked more about the history of the band than I had ever heard which was very interesting. Great music, great venue, great crowd!
