AMAZING, Maysa was AMAZING. I will see her again, I am just sorry I have not seen her before.
Gary taylor should have paid me to come too his show ! Maysa sung okay but didn't sing but two of what i thought was her :A" songs . I will continue to buy her cd's but not go to her concerts.
A true performer! I was blown away by her perfromance...Gary Taylor was good too! An exceptional jazz concert!
As usual it was a beautiful night under the stars at Chene Park. And as an added bonus Maysa & Gary Taylor really put on a fantastic show. I must say that the wife & I were pleased!
Maysa did a good job however, I would've preferred her to sing more of her own songs instead of other artists.
The ladies came out in force under under this big white tent in Chene Park. Must have been 6,000 people, and 5,000 of them were women, and they came to hear Gary Taylor. They knew all hs songs, sang along and didn't want to let the brother leave the stage. My first time hearing him in person. His band was tight. I was just there visiting my cousin. It was a great concert. Just being there in an atmosphere of love with brothers and sisters in Detroit. It was all love. It's what you love about Detroit and summertime.
Both were great. Didn't like artist being rushed off.
I have never seen Gary Taylor in concert, but he performed very well and would love to see him again. Maysa was in rare form as I expected she never disappoints you and her voice is so powerful and commanding. She song a lot of old school songs from different artist like Maze, Norman Connors and performed them very well. I just loved the whole concert.
Maysa finally captured the audience 10 minutes into the end of her performance. In addition to the performance the sound board people didn't realize that the snare drum on the trap set wasn't even turned up until the last two songs of the night. Very dissappointed.
She is so awesome in concert. Just gives her all to the audience and is appreciative of their support. Love her!! So undervalued. Pure talent!!
What can you say, it was Maysa?! It was fantastic.
It was my first time seeing Maysa in concert and I was not dissapointed! I stood in 4" heels the entire concert, which is no small feat!!
Kudos to Maysa and her band. I would pay to see Maysa anytime.
Maysa was AMAZING!!! Super voice, and great sense of humor. I would DEFINITELY pay again to see her. Someone in the audience mentioned Chastain as the next venue, but i say, "Forget THAT!! Center Stage is the perfect venue!"
Loved that there was no opening act and she came out and played for over 2 hours...the crowd was predominately mature and just wanted to sing and dance...it was great!! She talked in between the songs and she was hilarious......love her, it took too long to get her back to the ATL
Maysa was great her vioce is beautiful and smooth . The band was good also. Thought it was kind of tacky when she came out on the stsge with big white tennis shoes ,But she sounded good , wish she would have sung my favorite song
The theater itself was very historical and cool. Very Kansas City. Maysa was amazing. She is just so talented. Her style is very original (jazz, soul, skat) and she has maintained who she is as an artist for many years. Bilal, well he was another story. Most people I assume, were there to see him perform. He is also a very talented artist, but doesn't put on a very good show. His behavior on stage is very erratic and definitely unforgetable. Crowds were filing out by his 2nd song. His ability to sing in every octave doesn't always lend to the best renditions of his songs, and many people became bored and auditorically drained. However, he's definitely soulful, and if you're looking for a blues set, this is your man!
Maysa was great...bilal's performance was so poor that it took away from that greatness.
