MATT MAHER IN CONCERT:

Singer and composer Matt Maher’s worshipful performances are infused with personal storytelling as much as they are with praise. His sweeping songs are pieces for reflection, but rather than get mired in introspection, they veer towards the energetic, encouraging passionate participation from audience members. While his meaningful and profound music appeals to contemporary Christians of all ages, it truly resonates with a new generation of believers in need of spiritual renewal.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Canadian born singer-songwriter Matt Maher found his musical calling upon relocating to Phoenix, Arizona, when he received a graduate jazz scholarship to study at the University of Arizona. He earned his way through school playing piano in hotel bars and fully developed the great breadth of his talent. He released three records on the small Spirit and Song label before inking a deal with Sony's Essential Records for his 2008 major label debut Empty and Beautiful. Since then he has performed for popes and mass revivals and released three more full-lengths that all charted as top ten Billboard Christian Albums.

    Thank you, Matt Maher, for coming to Davenport to lead us in a night of praise. This was not a flashy concert with all the lights - this was an intimate worship experience in the beautiful Adler Theater. Matt shared his deepest faith and experiences, while performing for over 2 hours, with just a small break in between. The last half of the concert pointed us all toward Easter - the songs and the testimony gave us hope that 'everything will be alright' and reminded us not to dwell on the past, or get caught up in the future, but that today is the 'first day of the rest of your life' and to make the most of it in our faith and commitment to God.

    I took my daughters and my sister to this amazing concert! We all loved it! Matt Maher and his backup singer are perfect together! So moving and inspirational! He speaks as well as he sings!

    Amazing concert! The contrast between Zach Williams southern rock feel and Matt Mahr's smooth clean style made for such a great experience! Then, them coming together and playing/singing together was the icing on the cake. So grateful to be able to get these awesome artist in our town at the Effingham Performance Center.

    This concert was so good. Matt played the piano so beautifully and his songs are still moving me days after the concert. My children loved the concert and were amazed at the sound of Natalie Grant. All of the singers were wonderful and the piano parts were just what my soul needed.

    Main reason I went to concert was for Matt Maher, did not get enough songs from him. Also did not really like how they jumped back and forth from artist to artist. No flow to concert.

    The Bible Tour with Matt Maher and musical guest was memorable because the songs and the Bible video brought the Bible to life and gave it a meaning and purpose. It encouraged me in my faith and reminded me of the truth and hope in the Bible, and that God is real, and has been for ages.

    Wow. That bass line was terrible. It was so loud! Besides completely dominating the songs (except the Andrew Peterson and brother/sister duo) , the loudness of the bass actually made a few in our group hurt and/or nauseous. I can't believe the sound guys in the back didn't adjust it. I think the actual playing of the bass was fine - the mix was just wretched. Also, the mic for Matt Maher especially was way too hot. Terrible, terrible job of mixing.

    I have been to a lot of Christian concerts, but none quite like this! I loved how they shared the Bible stories I had heard my whole life in video form, while sharing their music too!! And what I loved most, was if there was someone in the audience who had never heard the word, it was presented in a way they could see and understand. I loved it❤️
