Really great music. Really fun time. I would definitely see him again.
The show was really good and MC played everything I wanted to hear. Everest was also very awesome. I was, however, REALLY surprised how few people were there, but it made for easy mobility!
Matt was great! He started the show singing Ms. Magnolia from the audience then went onto the stage. He is very personal and sounded fantastic live. The Varsity Theater is a great place, small & intimate. Won't forget this show!!
The Varsity Theater is now the venue I'd like to see all my shows at! What a cool theater and layout. My friend and I caught the tail of Everest's set and they sounded really good. We wandered the theater and as funny as it sounds, checked out the coolest bathroom ever with a view of the stage from the unisex wash area. While waiting for Matt to take the stage, we saw him hanging out by the soundboard and I was able to say hi, shake his hand and thank him for coming to play for us. He was very gracious and thanked us for coming out too. When the house lights went down, Matt and the band came to the stage from the back of the venue, playing through the audience like a processional. Once they got on stage, the show just went! The energy levels were great and the sound was great too. At some points, the show was hushed as Matt played alone or with one other person from the band. We were all along with him for the journey. I'll go see Matt anytime he comes to town. He always puts on a great show.
Matt Costa had a great mix of new and old songs! He had an amazing performance! I will never forget when he sang Astair and the whole house went silent!
This was a well orchestrated show. Hurrah for the stage hands who made it run smoothly!
This is the second time I've seen a show at the Bluebird Theater, and I just LOVE it there. The show was so amazing....Matt & Company put on a stellar performance. Before the show even started, we were all facing the stage, waiting for Matt to come out. All of a sudden, he's walking into the crowd from the back of the theater, playing his harmonica and guitar. He plays in the audience for a minute or so, and then heads to the stage to continue. Great way to start! He was really interactive with the audience, and came down into the audience a second time to play again, later in the show. After the show, he came outside to meet the few fans that waited long enough (that's me!). He was really nice. I got his autograph, and a picture with him. We chatted about the tour, his new cd, plans for another new albume, and much more. He was really down to earth. I've never met an artist who was as appreciative of his fans as he was. It makes me love him even more!
Matt Costa and Threes &Nines put on a great show! Matt Costa was so involved with the crowd, had great energy and played for quite awhile. Anyone would enjoy his show!
