The Marriott Theater production of Ragtime is wonderful. The creative staging of the musical in the round is amazing. The cast are at the same level of any you would see in New York (many have significant Broadway credits) and the voices are outstanding.
While this show takes place in the early part of the 20th century the themes of the musical resonate with today (unfortunately). There are the themes of white vs black, rich vs poor, immigration, workers rights, women's rights... all playing out with the same messages needed today.
The show is a long one, be prepared for the 90 minute first act, and has serious themes but is a wonderful theatre experience. There are no bad seats in this intimate setting and prices are reasonable.
