It's a "Helluva" Show!
It’s 1944 and three American sailors hit the Big Apple in search of love, fun, and the beautiful “Miss Turnstiles!” This hysterical musical comedy features an unforgettable score by Leonard Bernstein, and a hilarious book by Comden and Green. In this whirlwind adventure, sailors Gabey, Ozzie and Chip only have 24 hours to see the famous sights and find romance before they report back to the ship. The explosion of song and dance that ensues proves that “New York, New York, it’s a helluva town!”

And there wasn't a missed step anytime during the performance, even on such a small stage.The only thing that was missing for us was a "wow" moment. We were actually a little more invested in the 2 buddies and the girls with them than Miss Turnstile and Gabey (I believe there was a substitute for Gabey the afternoon we saw the show).

This is performance not to be missed. As good as, if not better, than some of the big, musical productions we have seen on downtown Chicago stages. Definitely worth the trip to Lincolnshire. Highly recommend!

Maybe we expected too much after seeing seeing Smokey Joe's Cafe in New York. However, we felt the female singers voices were screechy and the acting and dancing left a lot to be desired. Too bad as we really liked it so much in New York that we bought the dvd.
