It's a "Helluva" Show!
It’s 1944 and three American sailors hit the Big Apple in search of love, fun, and the beautiful “Miss Turnstiles!” This hysterical musical comedy features an unforgettable score by Leonard Bernstein, and a hilarious book by Comden and Green. In this whirlwind adventure, sailors Gabey, Ozzie and Chip only have 24 hours to see the famous sights and find romance before they report back to the ship. The explosion of song and dance that ensues proves that “New York, New York, it’s a helluva town!”

Beautiful dancing, exciting costumes and sets, boring story but not the Marriott's fault, just the nature of the musical. Enjoyable evening for our family
this was wonderful. such talent and energy, and of course there is not a bad seat in the house at the marriott theatre. it's a must see.....
We couldn't believe how smoothly the changing of scenery was managed. And there wasn't a missed step anytime during the performance, even on such a small stage. The only thing that was missing for us was a "wow" moment. We were actually a little more invested in the 2 buddies and the girls with them than Miss Turnstile and Gabey (I believe there was a substitute for Gabey the afternoon we saw the show).
Beyond my expectations. Impressed from the ballet and their costumes. Balanced music. Contemporary scenography.
Outstanding performance, elegant and energetic dancing, melodious vocals, tight and entertaining acting. This is performance not to be missed. As good as, if not better, than some of the big, musical productions we have seen on downtown Chicago stages. Definitely worth the trip to Lincolnshire. Highly recommend!
Have gone to many plays at the Lincolnsire over many years and have never been disappointed until now. Maybe we expected too much after seeing seeing Smokey Joe's Cafe in New York. However, we felt the female singers voices were screechy and the acting and dancing left a lot to be desired. Too bad as we really liked it so much in New York that we bought the dvd.
My husband and I enjoyed this production so much. The music, dancing, costumes, set (NY city street signage), acting, seating, sound, lighting, and everything were just great!
If you love good old fashioned musicals, you will love "On the Town"! Lots of music and dancing. Very entertaining with a very talented cast.
All the actors did a fantastic job. We thought Seth Danner (Chip) brought it all together to make it a very enjoyable afternoon.
