    Outstanding!

by Lavender91 on 6/18/12Paradise Rock Club - Boston

My husband and I attended the Marillion Concert at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston and it was an amazing night. Both upstairs and downstairs floors were filled with people singing to just about every song played and by looking around you could see the enjoyment ion everyone's face. I would however suggest that if you attend a concert here to get there as doors are opening and find your spot. As someone with Arthritic disability and nerve pain however I would have to say that I would have appreciated tables or benches to sit at in front of the screen on 2nd floor so that I could have enjoyed my time there. That is my only complaint. I think the club should be more accommodating to those with disabilities that prohibit them from standing too long or even to those who would like to take part in concerts there by making handicap accessible areas . Other than this it was an amazing time!! Club was located in the perfect area. Holiday Inn on 1200 Beacon Street was just a one mile walk in nice area ;o)

    Awesome!

by Anonymous on 6/18/12Paradise Rock Club - Boston

I last saw Marillion the last time they were in the states at the same venue (Paradise). They were energized and played for about 2 hours. They put together an exceptional set list culling material form their whole catalog. All musicians in this group are true professionals and seem to really enjoy playing music together. I do hope that they come aroung here again in the near future--they have such devoted fans!

    Lost

Well - lost in Boston for a few hours so I never did get to the show. I have gone to the Paradise before without a problem. This is really one of the greatest bands ever and they always get 5 stars so I am confidient that I would have given them 5 stars this time as well.

Marillion - It's Been 8 Years Too Long!

by Mojoman2 on 6/15/12Irving Plaza powered by Klipsch - New York

Marillion haven't toured the USA since the "Marbles' tour of 2004 but if the reaction to their Irving Plaza shows was anything to go by, it won't be too long before they are back in the States once more. Marillion are the biggest "cult" band in the world, having sold 14 million records, mostly without a record label. Their fan base is vast and international and they can play almost anywhere and get a great crowd. Irving Plaza was a perfect venue for them to play in New York and probably the last time you'll be able to see them that close up. The gig was heaving with rabid fans both nights of the two night stand and the band seemed a little stunned at the reaction. Their set, whilst meandering a little, comprised of music from the band's entire history, with just one or two songs each night from the Fish years, the rest being made up of their main body of work from the later albums and even some new songs from the album due to be released in September. Fans of this band buy their albums before a note has been recorded, allowing the band to have the resources to record, market and tour with complete creative integrity intact. From the opening Splintering Heart to the closing Three Minute Boy (made all the more endearing by a techy snafu (!) the band played their hearts our and the fans sang along, knowing every word. On the first night H (singer) quoted that some bands get adulation, Marillion get true affection and the warm and welcoming atmosphere and the band's complete connection to their audience is a testimony as to why. Marillion continue their world tour now but let's hope for an amazing New York return show very soon - both fans and the band deserve nothing less.
