MARIAN HILL IN CONCERT:
Philadelphia-based electronic pop duo Marian Hill are quickly climbing the ranks with their futuristic blend of pop, R&B, and electronica. In concert producer Jeremy Lloyd’s skittering beats and pitch-shifted samples provide an ethereal sonic foundation for singer Samantha Gongol, whose sultry vocals soar and swirl above the mix like a kaleidoscopic fever dream. In concert the pair is joined by bassist and saxophonist Steve Davit, who adds dimension to already-nuanced cuts like “One Time” with his arpeggiated sax squelches. Whether they’re mesmerizing with the minimal rhythms of “Whisky” or getting fans bouncing with the funky beat and layered vocals of “Got It”, Marian Hill takes ticket buyers on an otherworldly trip into the sonic future every time they take the stage.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Jeremy Lloyd and Samantha Gongol attended middle school together in Philadelphia, and it was there that Lloyd first heard Gongol’s incredible voice during a school talent show. After high school their paths diverged -- Lloyd studied music composition in college while Gongol cut her teeth as a songwriter in New York -- but their creative chemistry soon reunited them. After writing several tracks in Lloyd’s bedroom studio, they christened themselves Marian Hill and released their first song “Whisky”. The track was an online sensation, garnering a flurry of attention from blogs and cracking the Top 10 on Hype Machine. Their debut EP play followed a few months later, once again generating significant buzz and leading to their first live shows. With their acclaimed sophomore EP Sway generating even more excitement in 2015, Marian Hill has fans dying to catch futuristic cuts like “One Time” and “Lips” in concert.

Marian Hill and Rozes both electrified the crowd and put on some of the best live sets I’ve seen in such a small setting. Everything about the event was fantastic apart from the $20 beers charged by the venue.
Hands down one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. The sound and the effects were on point. If you have the chance to see these guys live do it!
This was a great performance! They were so great! Very engaging to the audience and the music was fantastic. The group really knows how to perform without being so overbearing! Very involving.
Left me speechless! What a beautiful, intimate venue for such a phenomenal performance
Do not miss them when they tour near you, dance all night.
Marian Hill was absolutely incredible! My friend and I were in the very front of the stage since there were no barricades set up. We arrived four hours early to the venue and were first in line. The opening act, OPIA, was also incredible. They were a rare few of opening acts that are actually good and you want to hear more of. Marian Hill themselves were fantastic!! She is such a good performer live. Her voice sounds incredible and she has real stage presence that keeps you engaged with the show. On the keyboard, Jeremy was also fantastic. It was mesmerizing to watch him play. Even though my friend and I had to early leave to catch a ferry, the hour of Marian Hill's set we saw was absolutely amazing!! It was hands down one of the best concerts I've been to.
Danced the whole show what a performance thanks again @marianhill
Saint Andrews was unexpectedly packed for this show, so comfort and mobility weren't too available. The duo opened with Down and had a cool silhouette behind curtains. They played a ton of songs, even some new ones which were sweet. The saxophonist was good, sometimes sounded nuts though. Marian Hill will be awesome after another album release I feel.
They were amazzzzzzing! Not only them but their opener- OPIA, was awesome as well. Def a teeny bopper audience but the jams were fire!!!
