by mikey0875 on 1/2/10Madison Square Garden - New York

The MC show was so awesome. From the beginning when she came down in a Santa slay to the middle when it was midnight, and the end when she sang Hero. Best way to spend New Years ever.

    It was a weird experience

by sornoff on 1/2/10Madison Square Garden - New York

Show was scheduled to start at 9 pm - we were hoping to ring in the New Year with Mariah - we got our wish. The pre-show was 2 hours long - boy band, guy band and a DJ - we almost walked out. MC came on at 11 pm and did her show - then it looked like she had a tiff with Hubby and stormed off - There was no encore AND she didn't sing Vision of Love - what is up with all of that???? Who doesn't do an encore? I'll tell you who - up and coming young singers - not a star like Mariah Carey - we'll never go to another of her concerts - we drove up to New York from Washington DC for that concert and a memorable New Year - Oh - it was memorable all right!

    Mariah was disappointing

by BlueLily on 1/2/10Madison Square Garden - New York

I went to see Mariah Carey for New Year's Eve at MSG. I had a fun time but I think it was because it was New Year's and I was in a great mood. Mariah didn't perform her favorites and was only on for an hour and a half!! I think that's ridiculous! She came on at 11pm and was off by 12:30am. I expected more of a show, more songs and a little more effort on her part in general. I guess she really is a diva. Not worth the money, was a let down.

    Mariah was at her best!

by hardcoreMCfan on 1/2/10Madison Square Garden - New York

Her voice was so strong, she was FUNNY and the show was simply Mariah through and through. It was a great way to spend New Years Eve and we may as well been in Times Square, there was pyro and ballons/confetti at midnight! The place become a PARTY! It was a blast.

    Show felt very rushed!!

by LinasReview on 1/2/10Madison Square Garden - New York

The performance by Mariah was great as usual but being that it was New Years, it was as if each song was cut down a bit so she can make it to her club appearance. Most songs were new and were to promote the upcoming album while I was there to hear the old stuff just like the folks in my section. Too much talking, not enough singing.

    Mariah Carey

by Naya01 on 1/2/10Madison Square Garden - New York

This concert was pretty good. It was new years and the show went past midnight and at midnight they had a countdown with confetti and balloons. It was cool. The only reason I don't give it amazing is I kinda wanted her to do some more of her older stuff.

    MC was worth the wait!

by jaya1210 on 1/1/10Madison Square Garden - New York

I was not informed that her act will start at 11pm. I thought, however, that maybe, they decided to push it a later time for the 201 0 countdown which was ok for me. Had I know, however, I would have come a little later. I was not that pleased with the two hour wait. The singers of the initial acts were good, however, I don't know their songs so I didn't enjoy it. The show ended well, however, I was expecting it to be a blast considering the ticket prices and it is Mariah. The stage was simple. I was expecting an excellent production and effects which may be compared to Beyonce and Celine. Perhaps, their production should not be compared considering the variety of songs they sing but I feel like the production needs improvement. Perhaps, it would have been better had the concert fell on a given day not a holiday since maybe it would have been a perfect show. I understand noone is expected to work hard on a holiday esp New Year's Eve but I feel like towards the end of the show, choreography turned out to be a mess, dancers and PAs dancing on their own steps which was like a chaos. I'm not sure if it was part of the drill but they appeared disorganized and seemed unprepared. The two white screens was like a mess.... there seemed to be a delay as the cameras were not in sync with Mariah (i.e. movt). There were a lot of instances where you'll see Mariah's head being cut on the screen esp when she was lifted by her dancers or when she was walking on the stage or dancing. It's like there was no timing. I loved the confetti and balloons which was a blast! I'm still and will always be a fan of Mariah. How I wish that it ended with a BIG BANG! Despite of the imperfectionist, it was worth to see. Must say, it's not something I will give up or be dismayed in the end. I'm glad I've spent my New Year's Eve with my friends and Mariah. =)

    still upset

by steph4281 on 1/1/10Madison Square Garden - New York

i am very disappointed about mariah's new yrs eve concert. I thought this was going to be a Big Event being that Mariah was playing at MSG which was 8 blocks from Times Square! Even though the show was scheduled for 9pm, i knew that it wouldn't start till at least 10, But she didnt come on until 11pm.....waiting was horrible because we had to listen to a DJ play music with the lights on which helped the crowd get more andmore intoxicated. When she finally came out, the crowd went nuts! But only for a short time because she played a few songs from her new album which no one knew and she had a outfit change breaks. Midnight came quick and she almost missed it because she was busy singing a bad song. Once 12am hit the concert seemed like one big high school dance on stage with the stage crew dancing the entire time. Nick Cannon looked like a loser swaying back and forth acting like a DJ once 2010 began. After the new yr i was really looking forward to her rocking the house with some classic Mariah #1's but to my disappointment she only sang 2 more songs, ending with Hero, and not even coming out for an encore! So i thought i was going to have an amazing time, but i didn't. i' ve seen mariah perform before and she has put on great concerts that i bragged about but this one was definitely not one of them. Dont get me wrong, it was much better than going to the same old house party or to the ratty old bar down the street, but it was not a concert that ill ever go to again on new yrs. I love Mariah but I know she let down a lot of her fans last night!

    Average show

by Summertime82 on 1/1/10Madison Square Garden - New York

I enjoy the intro groups perfomance more than the show itself because we waited to long before the main perfomer to start and we were getting bore in our chairs....she should have sing more of the old hits as well.

    What happened?

by sasha2010 on 1/1/10Madison Square Garden - New York

I'm going to start with something nice...I was looking forward to seeing Mariah in Concert. She is one of my favorite artist and my husbands dream girl...if you know what I mean - lol. She has an amazing voice and I love her music. Now, her concert SUCKED big time. She was in New York on New Year's Eve and she dropped the ball ;). Her show started at 9pm and her opening acts were completely done by 10:15pm. She came on at 11:15pm and was just a complete mess. It was more like an impromptu performance that people paid big money for. She put no effort in making it a wonderful New Year's Eve at MSG! She started out with her Christmas song which I enjoyed then she sang shake it off which I also liked. After another song she went backstage to change and heartbreaker came on. She didn't sing that she had dancers dancing to it and finally she came out and belted a few notes. She spent most of the night wondering if it was midnight, she half lipsynched/sang her songs and she seemed to be a bit tipsy! Right before midnight she went backstage and then came out and shouted "hey its 15 seconds away...10, 9, 8!" The confetti was the best part of the night. She pranced around on stage for another 15 minutes with a champagne glass in hand then her hubby came out and dragged her off stage. Oh and she did say "see you at the after party ya'll"! No encore nothing. It was bad! I am highly disappointed with the concert. I will continue to listen to her music but I lost some love - BOOHOO!
