    Mariah Carey is the BEST!!!

by jaynflexx on 1/16/10The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - Mashantucket

She sang beautifully and was never off key! She kept the audience guessing with her many outfits she changed into. She sang some throwbacks, "My All," "Emotions," "Honey," and she also sang her newer songs. "Obsessed," Shake u Off." I would definately pay to see her again!!!

It SUCKED...worst show I ever saw

by dms5378 on 1/11/10Madison Square Garden - New York

My fiancé LOVES Mariah Carey so I wanted to make the night I propose to her extra special by getting floor seats to the show. First of all she did not go on until 11:07 and was done by 12:30. That's less than an hour and a half. She also had a couple costume changes and the countdown which did not incorporate any signing. I could have accepted a concert being less than 1 1/2 hours if she had done an encore, but that was not the case. $175 / ticket for New Year's Eve and the diva didn't do an encore. BOO, Booo. Metallica, 311, Slayer, G Love, Galatic and every other band I have seen has done an encore except for Mariah. She did look good though.

    Disappointing show

by bluemkrn on 1/11/10Madison Square Garden - New York

Mariah did too many ballads from the new album, not enough hits. Towards the end of the show all the dancers did their own thing & some chubby lady was dancing with Mariah. Not a great show for her. I've seen much better Mariah shows in the past. She also spent too much time NOT on stage.

    Below Expectations

by Dee2010 on 1/8/10Madison Square Garden - New York

Mariah Carey's concert at MSG was below my expectations. Her performance was weak. The concert t started at 9:00 and she came on stage at 11:00. Then she spent more time off stage changing costumes, go figure! She was less focused when her husband appeared on stage. She is not a concert artist.

    Mariah was forgettable

by MoMo21 on 1/8/10Madison Square Garden - New York

Mariah didnt come on stage until 11pm. The opening act was okay but it took forever in between acts and we had to wait around for a long time. Mariah can sing, but cant perform. She kept stopping between songs, there were several technical difficulties with her microphone and after the NYE countdown, everything went downhill. There were random people on stage and zero performance value.

    wished she had sang more

by disappointedNYC on 1/7/10Madison Square Garden - New York

i was really looking forward to seeing mariah carey for the first time in concert and was disappointed mostly in how little she sang. it was new years eve and yes, she needs to celebrate too, but having your fans there at 9pm with a weak opening act, a good DJ (thank goodness) and then not coming on stage until 11pm and ending around 12:30pm for $175 just wasn't worth it...especially since she didn't sing the whole time. she spent most of the time changing clothes, leaving the stage while the dancers danced to instrumental versions of her classics. i had heard her shows were fantastic, but i had more music to listen to at the bruce springsteen concert i went to a couple months earlier and i wasn't even a big fan of bruce. mariah could have done better. the balloon and confetti at midnight was great though!

Mariah Carey was a waste of time

by ju3lz on 1/7/10Madison Square Garden - New York

From the very beginning, it seemed as if the concert was not going to be as expected. Although Trey Songz's performance was amazing, Mariah's was horrible. She did not show any enthusiasm to be up there and she clearly looked like she was not enjoying herself. On top of that, the show ended way too early. Especially since we payed over $200 per seat to see her perform about 10 songs for a grand total of 2 hours. This was New Years Eve and this was not how I would have liked to spend my night. I was looking forward to seeing her play some of her old stuff, but she only played 10 of her songs and most of them were relatively new. On top of that, she was not moving around or dancing and engaging the crowd. She really looked like she did not want to be there. It was horrible. I do not reccomend anyone else going to any of her concerts if it is going to be like this. This was a rip off I could not believe she could do this to us. I was excited to go, but it turned out to be the biggest waste of $400 in my life. I should have spent the night with my family.

Mariah sounded great the whole time. I have been to 2 of her other concerts in the past and this show was a little bit short. She came out at 11 and ended at 1230.

    Not Mariah's Best

by KNA220 on 1/5/10Madison Square Garden - New York

Her vocals were top notch. Her teeth were the whitest I have ever seen them. The outfits were exactly what any Mariah maniac would expect. The show on a whole. though, was shotty at best. Having seen my favorite performer a half dozen times before, the show on a whole was one of the worst. Only because it was a special event concert do I rate it as one of the top shows I have seen her perform. Clearly, Mariah needs a new producer and show director. Anyone who goes to see Mariah goes for the glitz, glam and that incredible voice. There should have been way less dancing, way less periods of filler, and many, many more hits to be sung. The set was a fun throw back to a 50's band stand but it seemed to lack the intimacy and novelty that Mariah's former sets have had. Her infamous "Mimi" sign did not illuminate until two thirds of the show in. I went with a friend who had never seen the superstar before and she was blown away. I felt bad and embarassed but fortunately she didnt know the caliber the show could have been. I attribute the poor show to the fact that they had to time the countdown to midnight just so. I plan on seeing Mariah on two other stops on her tour and hope the show is at the caliber her lambs expect it to be.

Mariah Carey New Year's Eve concert

by JonA010 on 1/5/10Madison Square Garden - New York

Unfortunately I do not remember their name of the first act. What is memorable is that they did a great job hyping up the crowd. I would say they were a good choice to get "everything started" as the crowd waited for the other performers. As for Trey Songz, he does gives a good performance. Mariah Carey was especially a great preformer. I felt that she did a great job not only personalizing her performance. She made the crowd feel like we were apart of her life even if that was for that moment only. Yes the dancers as well as the choreographers did a phenominal job in making the performance look effortless and beautiful. All the artists performed very well, sounded better than their recorded songs, and were a good cast of charecters. Last but not least the DJs did an ok job only because I think I have heard their selection of mixed songs from the radio before hand. It isn't a bad compilation, but it is something I believe to have heard before hand. All in all it was a great concert and would not change a thing.

Bruce, Tina, Melissa, Cher, Bette, were way better

by fifipinky on 1/5/10Madison Square Garden - New York

She has a beautiful voice and a great stage presence, unfortunately she was not on the stage long enough to enjoy her talent. I did not feel like I was at a concert, more like a tease of a show. Doors to the garden opened at 8PM, she did not come on the stage until 11PM. Most opening performances play for an hour, this was about a 1/2 hour. When she finally did get on the stage she would sing three songs and then a costume change where we could listen to recordings of her music. Then when we approached midnight it seemed like nobody really knew what time it was. Then people appeared from everywhere who just jumped around the stage and took pictures of themselves. Then at 12:30 AM on the dot she finished her last song, waived goodbye and never came out for an encore performance, the lights came on and it was over.

    Mariah was overpaid

by TesG on 1/5/10Madison Square Garden - New York

We thought Mariah was great but expensive. We had to wait 2 hours to see her, the acts before were not great and the audio was often muffled. Then she only played for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

    A disppointed Concert after all...

by xpdirect on 1/5/10Madison Square Garden - New York

First of all, the concert time has changed from 8pm originally from the presale to 9pm to the ticket printed. So we figure it out they want to do New Year Countdown which is a good schedule change. Then, they add Trey Songz as special guest but it turns out they also have RydaznRtist to perform which it already took up the first 2 hrs all together. Mariah did not show up until 11pm and sang only an hr without encore. We paid $200 each ticket for nothing but several intermission so ppl can buy more food and drinks. What a waste of money concert !!!

    Mariah @MSG

by SaSa1919 on 1/5/10Madison Square Garden - New York

Mariah's vocals were phenomenal. Her stage performance needs work. MSG's sound system is horrible. At one point, Mariah had to stop singing in the middle of her song to have her microphone and earpiece adjusted. Mariah complained through out the concert that her earpiece was malfunctioning.
