The event itself was awesome, it was the parking that was troublesome, spent 45 minutes looking for parking, until finally found one that was about 6 blocks away,this type of event should be done in some other location with ample parking availability.
Worst experience ever! Unbeknownst to us multiple events that evening downtown...limited parking and unbearable traffic. Our tickets said the show was at 7:30pm...Mariachi Vargas didn’t actually perform until 9 pm. Apparently hundreds of teenagers were bused downtown from other places and were all over the place... I will think twice and get more information about the performance before I buy tickets again.
These guys are excellent, wonderful performers. We continue to go back to watch them year after year. They don’t disappoint, this makes for a great Christmas gift. Whether for yourself or someone else. Hold on because the music resonates in your heart.
Beautiful music!!! The concert was absolutely great!! All the mariachi groups that performed were great. Would definitely go again

This makes my 7th time attending the Mariachi extravaganza show. I felt like this time, the entire show was lacking preparation from all sides. The music was excellent but, the enthusiasm from all parties-minus the school children-was lacking. I saw that the mariachi Vargas was not all into it this time...
At the start of the second half,the sound was terrible.Could not understand speakers.When I complained,I was told that Mariachi Vargas had their own engineer.After 30-40 minutes,sound improved.
The concert was fabulous! The venue not so much. The sound system was bad, the ushers were awful! We had a total of 10 tickets however the ushers didn’t check tickets properly and had people in our seats for half the show!
My husband and I have been attending this performance for a few years now. It's our Christmas gift to one another. If you enjoy mariachi music, this is a must see. The group is spectacular, so very talented. Their music touches your heart. I am sad to see Arturo Vargas leave the group, again, an awesome performer with such a great voice. I see changes coming and I hope it's good for everyone involved. The first time we attended their show I had tears running down my face, their music simply touched my heart and soul.
This was the fourth year attending the performance and once again the music was un-believable. The opening performances by the Jr High and High School groups are always praise worthy. This year's performances by the dancers added to the evening - I can take them or leave them - not that impressive. The Master of Ceremonies was lots better last year. This year it seemed nothing had been rehearsed and did not go as smoothly. The screens are OK - can take them or leave them. The actual Mariachi Vargas did not have the same pep/zip as in years past and it seems like every year someone is leaving the group. I guess San Antonio is last on the tour for the calendar year. Overall - I still would like to attend next year - but if this would have been my first year to attend - I would not go back. Just didn't measure up to past years.
