What 36-year old comedian stars in the Comedy Central series, "The Comedians of Comedy Tour" (as well as in the independent film of the same title out on NETFLIX), is in Variety's TOP TEN COMICS TO WATCH, has been the talk of Montreal, Edinburgh, Aspen, Kilkenny and Melbourne Comedy Festivals and was voted by Comedy Central viewers as one of their Top Ten Favorite Comics? ME! MARIA BAMFORD! That's who, sweetpeas!
Loved Maria's performance, and Jackie Kashian opened the show with a great set as well. I hope to see Maria performing in the NYC area again soon!
I had a wonderful time at the Maria Bamford show. She is a very talented woman, and seeing her in person was inspirational to me, as a woman and mother of daughters.
If you've ever caught a glimpse of Maria Bamford's comedy you know there is no one like her - her insane character work, her voices and physicality AND THE CONSTANT STREAM OF JOKES - all super funny and unique and brain stimulating! Don't miss a chance to catch some of Maria's energy live!! NJPAC where she performed is a lovely venue.
We really liked the warm-up act, Jackie somebody from Wisconsin. Usually warm-up acts are not good, but she was excellent, and made the whole show great. Maria is absolutely unique, a stand-up artist of the first caliber like Robin Williams, may he rest in peace.
Loved the show, her friend Jackie Kashian opened and she's wonderful, reminds me of Kathleen Madigan in that she's so informal and friendly, you feel like you're sitting with friends at a bar and she's the friend that has everyone laughing. Maria was fantastic too. She's so smart, so funny and so creative. The voices, the perspective on life, her amazing gift for reading people/holding that mirror up without being mean or vindictive, just magically observational. Loved the show, highly recommend both ladies.
Show was not funny She kept eating the mic so you couldn't understand her. It might be me but I didn't think she was funny. Her opening act was better but not by much. Won't got again.
Great show! Can’t wait to see her again. Her warm up was stellar, too.
I really enjoyed Maria. Her act is very different but once I caught on I was glued to every word. I would recommend her to anyone who wants a big intelligent laugh. The Warner Theater is so cramped that I have to have an end of row seat (especially in the balcony) in order to be able to be comfortable.
Try and catch Maria Bamford if you can - she's unique, smart and hilarious!
I expected Maria Bamford to be a great and unexpected entertainer and she did not disappoint. Everyone around me seemed very happy with the evening. All new material. I would have bought the ticket just to see Jackie Kashian — the warm-up entertainer, who did a wonderful set. The Warner is a lovely old theater, the sound was good, and I found on-street parking two blocks away ten minutes before the show. Dinner was good, too, but that's another story.
Maria Bamford was, as always, amazing. I especially appreciated that she talked about mental health. It's important to be open about it and reduce the stigma.
I absolutely adore Maria Bamford. Her comedy style is so quirky!! We love seeing her perform!! We also love that she brings her own mental illness issues into the show!! Putting that out there for people to see is so brave!
wept with laughter. Can't recommend her highly enough. Weird and wonderful
Maria Bamford is funny, wise, and refreshingly unique. I've been a fan for years and was happy to see that she would come to Portland Maine, as not many big name entertainers come this far. I was happy to see the venue sold out for this show.
Bamford was engaging and at a few times funny. Her opening was a little pandering, which I would not expect from such an eccentric comedian. Her material was more of a downer than an upper, which makes sense because only one or two jokes were good enough to be memorable. Overall disappointed.
Maria is brilliant, brutally honest, cute as a bug, and takes the listener on a wild ride of surprising and delightful left turns. She has this incredible ability to make you feel like you’re her very best friend. An artist of comedy.
Maria Bamford is so amazing. Love her comedy. And her opener, Jackie Kashian is equally hilarious. What a fun night.
Maria Bamford is just as amazing live as she is recorded. It was well worth the hour drive to see her.
Maria Bamford is my new favorite comedian. The voices in her head came alive on stage. Her vignettes were like watching a live version of Spike and Mike’s Festival of Sick and Twisted Cartoons. She is a comedic genius!
Maria Bamford was hilarious. Great set! The Wilbur really needs to bring their mezz and balcony seating into the 21st century.
