About

Maren Morris in Concert

Maren Morris makes it clear that she isn't overly concerned with country music convention — she freely flouts the "rules" all the time. Her onstage image screams out "pop star" more than it evokes a traditional country persona, and her hits like "80s Mercedes," "I Could Use a Love Song," and "The Middle" have as much to do with Morris' pop and rock influences as they do with her lifelong obsession with country music. The electricity she projects onstage transcends genre, though, and so does her audience, making Morris a true crossover artist. Just as she started off her career with a couple of indie releases, she spent her first couple of tours as a supporting act, first on Keith Urban's Ripcord World Tour in 2016 and then Sam Hunt's 15 in a 30 Tour the following year. But after her Grammy, CMA, and ACM award wins in 2017 she emerged as a full-blown star in her own right, and that year she celebrated by embarking on her first-ever headlining road trip, The Hero Tour.

Maren Morris Background

Born in Arlington, Texas, Morris started playing music when she was 12 years old, and by the time she was 15 the precocious country singer/songwriter had her own indie album out. After a couple more records released on her own, Morris was picked up by Columbia Nashville, who released her self-titled debut EP in 2015. The next year, her ‘Hero' album arrived with the force of a hurricane, containing the Platinum-selling "My Church" and the Gold singles "80s Mercedes" and "I Could Use a Love Song," all of which parlayed her pop savvy perfectly into a country context. Not only did the album hit the top spot on the country charts, its surplus of pop hooks made it a No. 5 pop album, too. A 2018 collaboration with producer Zedd and the duo Grey on the single "The Middle" pushed Morris' profile further beyond country, giving her a smash pop single. Along the way, Morris has found success as a songwriter for others, too, contributing compositions to albums by hitmakers like Tim McGraw, Kelly Clarkson, and The Brothers Osborne.

Maren Morris on Tour

Grammy-winning artist Maren Morris embarks on "RSVP: The Tour" in 2020 throughout North America, including festival dates at Governors Ball Music Festival and Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Experience and headline stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Colorado's storied Red Rocks Amphitheatre and many more. Supporting acts James Arthur, Ryan Hurd and Caitlyn Smith are confirmed for select dates. The tour kicks off in June following Maren's headlining appearance at the Houston Rodeo on March 7, 2020, her biggest show to date.

She has had consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart for Maren's song "The Bones," making it the first solo female back-to-back #1 since 2012 and her fourth #1 single to date. It also marks the first solo female Billboard country #1 since her single "GIRL" topped the chart last summer. In addition, Morris recently appeared on the 50th season of "Sesame Street" in an episode titled "Let's Draw"—watch here.

2019 was a monumental year for the singer songwriter who took home Album of the Year at the 53rd Annual Country Music Association Awards, where she was the most nominated artist. Her record shattering album GIRL continues to receive widespread critical praise—Variety hailed it as "the best as well as most important mainstream country-star album of the year." GIRL was also featured amongst the Best of 2019 by Rolling Stone, Billboard, Esquire, GQ, People, Vice, Paste, Stereogum and Uproxx.

Over the course of her career, Maren Morris has played venues such as the Arizona Federal Theatre in Phoenix, Radio City Music Hall in NYC, and the Budweiser Stage in Toronto.

Came for Lone Bellow but enjoyed Maren

by Steve on 9/19/22Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at SDSU - San Diego

It is a great venue first off. My wife needs help walking and they arranged to wheel us straight to a handicap area. Many places to park which is different than most venues where it takes you an hour to leave. Actually came to see the opening act - Lone Bellow - had never heard of Maren Morris. She was really good - great connection with the younger folks in the crowd that knew her songs.

    Music is My Church!

by Mrs.P on 9/19/22Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at SDSU - San Diego

My daughter and I went to see Maren Morris at one of my favorite venues. The night was magical! Her sound was perfect, her guitars too big for her petite frame and the stage sets IG ready. Loved her short skirt and tennis shoes too! Thanks for coming to see San Diego and share all the fabulous hits. Love you!

by Benziegreen on 9/19/22Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre at SDSU - San Diego

The show was more than I expected. Maren is a beautiful, kindhearted person with a hell of a voice and oh what a treat it was to see her live! She went old school and new school as far as her song choice went and we all sang and danced the entire show! The whole place was engaged the entire time and it was an unforgettable night!

This concert was fantastic! The venue was great: the process to get in went smoothly, and the food and beverages options inside were great. You can sit or stand wherever you liked which I loved because I could get really close. Maren put on an amazing show, would totally see her again!

    sound system was awful

by Monica on 8/29/22Hayden Homes Amphitheater - Bend

We saw Maren Morris a few months ago and loved her. We also listen to her music and think she's a terrific entertainer. We've been to many concerts this summer at Hayden Homes and really enjoyed them. The sound was awful where we were, almost tinny and we ended up leaving early. It's like the amplifiers were turned up too loud, distorting the sound quality. The tinny part went away the further away from the music we got as we walked away. We noted several people around us also left early (just after 9:00).

Waited for drinks, missed the show.

by ParchedMusicFan on 8/29/22Outlaw Field at the Idaho Botanical Garden - Boise

The process to obtain a cold drink at Outlaw Field left a bad taste in all our mouths. Spent nearly a third of the show waiting in line to get a beer. Paying $10 per drink is bad enough, but waiting in the first line to buy drink tokens (this one went fairly quickly) but then standing in the next line for over 40 minutes was a joke. Only to choose between a 12 oz can or a warm draft beer. The bartender was having to fill 4-5 glasses full of beer foam and then attempting to pour them into one to get each beer, which resulted in a glass of warm, flat IPA. She said they had to choose between chilling the cans or chilling the kegs. Not enough ice for both. For $10 a drink, you’d think they could invest in enough ice to provide cold refreshments. The music was good though, what we were able to actually sit down and enjoy, after the wait. Won’t be coming back any time soon.

    Terrible experience for member

by Cindyluwho on 8/24/22Outlaw Field at the Idaho Botanical Garden - Boise

We paid for a suite in hopes of having an exceptional experience. We were ensured we didn’t need to bring person hydration as we would have wait staff who would serve our area - no need to even go wait in line. This was supposed to be a VIP experience. Temps were around 100 degrees at show start. We waited an hour after the start of the show before we had to chase down a wait person to get an order in. We did have an empty water bottle to fill at the advertised filling station - this turned out to be a hose faucet. Warm soda and water were eventually brought. Hydration selection was very limited and staff only returned twice during the entire show. Our metal tables and chair legs sunk into the mud as were were on a grass surface. The location was so far back we needed binoculars to see the performance. There were no trash cans available. I will be cancelling my membership with the Boise Botanical Gardens. Terrible experience. The show was a disappointment as the lights were frequently turned on very bright and shining into the audience. Perhaps this was so Maren Morris could see the audience but I paid to see her - not for her to see me! We drove an hour and a half for a major and expensive disappointment.
