About

Maren Morris in Concert

Maren Morris makes it clear that she isn't overly concerned with country music convention — she freely flouts the "rules" all the time. Her onstage image screams out "pop star" more than it evokes a traditional country persona, and her hits like "80s Mercedes," "I Could Use a Love Song," and "The Middle" have as much to do with Morris' pop and rock influences as they do with her lifelong obsession with country music. The electricity she projects onstage transcends genre, though, and so does her audience, making Morris a true crossover artist. Just as she started off her career with a couple of indie releases, she spent her first couple of tours as a supporting act, first on Keith Urban's Ripcord World Tour in 2016 and then Sam Hunt's 15 in a 30 Tour the following year. But after her Grammy, CMA, and ACM award wins in 2017 she emerged as a full-blown star in her own right, and that year she celebrated by embarking on her first-ever headlining road trip, The Hero Tour.

Maren Morris Background

Born in Arlington, Texas, Morris started playing music when she was 12 years old, and by the time she was 15 the precocious country singer/songwriter had her own indie album out. After a couple more records released on her own, Morris was picked up by Columbia Nashville, who released her self-titled debut EP in 2015. The next year, her ‘Hero' album arrived with the force of a hurricane, containing the Platinum-selling "My Church" and the Gold singles "80s Mercedes" and "I Could Use a Love Song," all of which parlayed her pop savvy perfectly into a country context. Not only did the album hit the top spot on the country charts, its surplus of pop hooks made it a No. 5 pop album, too. A 2018 collaboration with producer Zedd and the duo Grey on the single "The Middle" pushed Morris' profile further beyond country, giving her a smash pop single. Along the way, Morris has found success as a songwriter for others, too, contributing compositions to albums by hitmakers like Tim McGraw, Kelly Clarkson, and The Brothers Osborne.

Maren Morris on Tour

Grammy-winning artist Maren Morris embarks on "RSVP: The Tour" in 2020 throughout North America, including festival dates at Governors Ball Music Festival and Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Experience and headline stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Colorado's storied Red Rocks Amphitheatre and many more. Supporting acts James Arthur, Ryan Hurd and Caitlyn Smith are confirmed for select dates. The tour kicks off in June following Maren's headlining appearance at the Houston Rodeo on March 7, 2020, her biggest show to date.

She has had consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart for Maren's song "The Bones," making it the first solo female back-to-back #1 since 2012 and her fourth #1 single to date. It also marks the first solo female Billboard country #1 since her single "GIRL" topped the chart last summer. In addition, Morris recently appeared on the 50th season of "Sesame Street" in an episode titled "Let's Draw"—watch here.

2019 was a monumental year for the singer songwriter who took home Album of the Year at the 53rd Annual Country Music Association Awards, where she was the most nominated artist. Her record shattering album GIRL continues to receive widespread critical praise—Variety hailed it as "the best as well as most important mainstream country-star album of the year." GIRL was also featured amongst the Best of 2019 by Rolling Stone, Billboard, Esquire, GQ, People, Vice, Paste, Stereogum and Uproxx.

Over the course of her career, Maren Morris has played venues such as the Arizona Federal Theatre in Phoenix, Radio City Music Hall in NYC, and the Budweiser Stage in Toronto.

    Clear bag policy

by Sy on 9/26/22Arizona Financial Theatre - Phoenix

Hello - I attended the Maren Morris event in PHX this weekend. I went to the website for the venue 3 times and read in Arizona Financial Theater website bags policy which indicated 12x12 and smaller purses were allows. I brought a small purse 8x8. The lady checks bags was over the top wanting to argue and couldn’t wait to pull up the live nation website. It wasn’t until I paid the $10 to check my bag I realize I went to the buildings website. I don’t go to concerts often, so I wouldn’t know Live Nation has their own rules. Why wouldn’t someone google the theatre for the rules? Could this be a little more clear when purchasing tickets or in the reminders you send out? And simmer the bag check lady down. I’m a nice person and wasn’t arguing. I walked away, she was over the top. On a positive note, The guys at the lockers were very nice.

    Marvelous Maren

by Melody on 9/26/22Arizona Financial Theatre - Phoenix

The concert was wonderful she sounded fabulous as usual! My only wish is that she had done more of her older songs. The size of the venue made it seem like a much more intimate environment. I wish I could go all over again right now!

    Bay Area Country

by Autumn on 9/24/22Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

My first time seeing Maren Morris and she was amazing! Beautiful voice and positive energy for the crowd that cheered her on. I was so happy and blessed to see my favorite artist perform live and remind me that life is great. Getting to the concert was easy, but only because I took Uber. The ticketing process to was easy and buying merchandise was a breeze. I like that the seating area was easy to follow and my seat was perfect viewing of the stage. Maren performed her heart out and appreciated us fans being there to support her music. A great night for country music in the bay area.

    Maren amazing; assigned seating meh

by girl on 9/22/22Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

Maren Morris is amazing live. She connected with the crowd, was engaging and fun! Loved hearing some background to a couple of her songs and how her genuine nature came through. She had everyone singing along at the top of their lungs and loved seeing such a diverse crowd of different ages and people. This was my first time attending the Greek however with assigned seating to my surprise. That is simply a detail about the Greek that makes it special - the liberty to choose your own seat when you get there. Not a fan of this detail for this particular event and unclear why the event organizers opted to enforce this.

    great experience

    by Bill T on 9/21/22Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

The opening act was a great surprise. They were great. Each member was very skilled and the band sounded great. Maren Morris was good and performed a lot of her songs. Overall the show was a very enjoyable performance. One detraction was that our original seats were behind the tents for the sound people and we were relocated to seats along the walkway where people were constantly walking in front of us. In situations like this, the original seats should not have been sold or we should have been reassigned to better seats.

    Beautiful venue, needs updated concessions

by Babbs on 9/20/22Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

The venue is absolutely spectacular! The acoustics phenomenal! The show and seating were amazing! My critique is with the selection of beverages at the concession. They need to broaden the choices from two types of beer, couple wine choices, and a seltzer. Not even sparkling water available, not to mention whiskey or any type of hard liquor. The bathroom availability was also scarce unless you were willing to trek from front row if stage up around to added portables up in the grass seating area. Those two aspects very mediocre. They could make more money with an expanded cocktail menu.

    Great Venue

by JG on 9/20/22Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

This venue is highly recommended for concerts and live events, not a bad seat in the house. The venue was extremely clean with crews cleaning throughout the evening. Parking was close by, only a 5 minute walk to the venue and the campus was very secure with additional Police resources onsite after the show was over.
