About

Maren Morris has always defied expectations -- and on her new album Dreamsicle, she does it again, with the kind of radical vulnerability that turns endings into beginnings. If the record had one unifying flavor, it might be lemonade: tart and sweet, nostalgic and fresh. The singer-songwriter's fourth album is a fearless exploration of heartbreak, healing, and the strange beauty of letting go. But rather than linger in grief, Dreamsicle is infused with warmth, wit, and hard-won optimism -- a sonic balm for anyone learning to live with both joy and pain in the same breath.

"The message that rang clear in titling this project Dreamsicle was about all of these fleeting things that I thought were very permanent in my life melting away," Morris explains. "It's about remembering that it's okay that they end. That can either be something you deflect or avoid, or you can find peace with. It felt like a sweet way to address something heavy and is a reminder not to mourn things before they're over - to look back at things with love and light, and not regret."

In the wake of seismic personal shifts, writing and recording Dreamsicle became a lifeline. Collaborating with an eclectic lineup of producers -- including Greg Kurstin, Jack Antonoff, Joel Little, Naomi McPherson of MUNA, and the Monsters & Strangerz -- Morris rediscovered herself through sound and songwriting. The result is a genre-fluid, emotionally rich collection that finds her in rare and radiant form.

The Kurstin-produced lead single, "carry me through," is a stripped-back ballad laced with gospel and soul -- a poignant reintroduction and a quiet revelation. "It was very therapeutic creating that song," Morris says. "It was actually written before the big storm of changes in my life. Maybe it was my subconscious talking, but I came back to it later and it felt like this was the perfect moment to release it. This song is a little bit like an exhale. It brings me peace listening back to it, and I hope it will for other people too."

"bed no breakfast" completes the one-two punch showcasing two of Maren's saving graces in creating this album - vulnerability, and humor. The song is a cheeky, R&B-kissed anthem about dipping a toe back into dating -- and setting boundaries with a grin. "It's a nice way of saying, 'You can stay for a couple of hours, but won't you sleep better at your place?'" she laughs. "Reminding myself that I'm allowed to be funny has been a good tonic."

Elsewhere, Morris ventures into new sonic terrain with "holy smoke," a sweeping, string-laced closer that she likens lyrically to R.E.M.'s "Losing My Religion." On "cry in the car," produced by McPherson, she veers into bold, synth-driven territory, reinforcing the sense that Dreamsicle is both a sonic and spiritual evolution. Each track stands on its own, yet the album's message remains consistent, cohesive, and unmistakably hers.

Dreamsicle isn't just about heartbreak; it's about transformation, growth, and finding beauty in what's left behind. "Loss ultimately shines a light on parts of your life that open up after something like that happens to you," Morris reflects. Rather than clinging to the past, she's making room for joy. "It's been a heavy few years for me -- and for the world -- and I want to keep laughing. I don't want to hold onto things so tightly that I end up sacrificing my own happiness and not even realizing that I'm living my dream."

With Dreamsicle, Maren Morris turns the page -- embracing the messy, beautiful process of healing and rebuilding. As the hurt drips away and a new chapter takes shape, her voice feels lighter, wiser, and sweeter than ever.

  • Concert was great venue not so much

by Stephie on 8/12/25Ilani Cowlitz Ballroom - RidgefieldRating: 1 out of 5

Maren was fantastic, however it would have been better if staff would have done their job and vetted people better. I like my $62 dollar an hour job and it’s a no tolerance job that means zero drugs and people were smoking pot all over the place in there and they weren’t supposed to be and the security were just allowing it. They really need to do better. I expect things like this in an open venue like an amphitheater but not here and it was quite suffocating. Furthermore I was being smacked in the face repeatedly by a drunk woman’s hair who was dancing wildly and she kept flinging her chair back into my lap it was quite annoying. I don’t think I will ever come to an event at this venue again.

  • Incredible..what.a.show!

by Sademariej on 8/12/25Ilani Cowlitz Ballroom - RidgefieldRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time seeing her in concert after being a fan for several years, and I was not disappointed. Her set list was perfection, vocals were incredible and her band brought the house down. It was also just so joyous....I have never seen a more diverse crowd at a concert which I think is a testament to her character and gift as an artist. I would see her live a million times again. Don't miss this show! Ps her opening act, Trousdale, was also amazing. Their vocals are magic!

  • Incredible show. Intimate venue.

I was disappointed when I saw that the venue was being relocated to an indoor location, but I was pleasantly surprised at what a great space it was. I would be happy to attend another event at Channel 24. Maren Morris always puts on a great show. I was there for the show last year, and will definitely see her again!

Love the show Maren put on! Venue had great acoustics.

  • Fantastic performance/ but seating problems

by Concert girly on 8/5/25The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

Maren Morris was spectacular as always. It is incredible how much better her new album sounds live. I was disappointed in the venue. We had bought specific seats in a balcony section as I don't like dealing with GA, paid more for them too to get a better seat. But then when we got there, they changed the balcony to GA with no notice.

  • Go see her

by JFP on 8/5/25The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent show! Go see her! The venue was great and catered to her style.

  • Good but meh and bad

by Grip Logic on 8/4/25The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park - San DiegoRating: 2 out of 5

Maren's performance was solid, the venue was nice, but for the price, these front-row seats were...disappointing. Why, you may ask? Because the pit was not a pit, but a standing section directly in front of us...so, since they had to stand the whole time, we had to stand the entire time to see anything.

  • Very Disappointed

by Dana on 8/3/25The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park - San DiegoRating: 2 out of 5

Upon arrival at our bistro table someone was sitting in our seats. The person seating us and the people in our seats said there weren't specific assigned seats at a bistro table just a seat at the table. I disagreed and said but I specifically picked seats 5 and 6 so we could face forward with the table in front of us. We were basically told not to worry about it. Then about 15 minutes later another couple came to the table. It turned out the original 2 people in our seats were at the wrong table and knew it. So not off to a good start. We were also very disappointed in Maren Morris. I was familiar with her older music which is good but all her new stuff was filled with angst and anti men. I know she went through a break up but wow she really lets you know how she feels. It was very negative and not a fun vibe. We ended up leaving early which I've never done in all my 50 years of going to concerts.

  • Not the worst

by Pleb on 8/3/25The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

VIP experience could have been better. The venue was fine but the coordination for VIP guests was poor. The photo was a backdrop and they have endless possibilities of better lighting and scenery for a photo. I’m not a fan of her but the music was great and she sounded great. There could have been better selections of tickets for the VIP too. The pit is nice but if I’m a VIP I’d like to be treated like one. Basically just spent money for a photo, which would have been worth it if the photo was taken by someone of a professional and in a better setting. Oh well it wasn’t the most expensive ticket and she is really nice in person. Would give the other all rating a 6.5/10 but rounding down.

  • Wonderful Performances & Venue!

by Beth on 8/3/25The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Maren Morris put on a beautiful performance! Her voice, lyrics and stage presence are amazing. The Rady Shell is a great venue. The open act, Trousdale, was incredible as well. I hadn’t heard of them but wow, performance and voices!!

  • Amazing show!! She played all of my favorite songs

by Niki92126 on 8/3/25The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great show!! She played all of my favorite songs and she sounds ever better in live. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and I would definitely see her again.

  • Great Venue, Terrible Front Row Seats!

by MamaBear on 8/3/25The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park - San DiegoRating: 4 out of 5

It was a really great venue, very easy for parking, plenty of quality food options which were ready very fast, and the restrooms were spotless. Also the venue staff was nice and helpful. The concert itself was good, although not entirely appropriate for youth&kids. HUGE disappointment were our very expensive Front Row Middle Center Seats! We were right behind the "pit"and we could not see anything unless we stood up. And Extra hard for me, as I had to also either carry my eight year old or hold her up to stand on our seats to see the show. I will NEVER do that again or pay that price again for such a terrible view.

  • Maren Amazing at Rady Shell

by Michimoibelle on 8/3/25The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Great show. Great venue. Maren’s vocals are insane. She is such an amazing live performance. And love all her commentary!

  • Maren Morris

by Ro on 10/8/24Casino Rama Resort - RamaRating: 5 out of 5

Maren Morris was amazing. The energy in the room was electric. She worked the crowd and did a fabulous job.. Wish she had played longer this seems to be a casino thing they want you to go out and gamble. I get that but she didn’t do an encore and she only was out there for an hour and a half give or take should’ve been longer.

  • Small venue in London
