MARCUS MILLER IN CONCERT:
Bass guitar legend Marcus Miller has lent his fast-fingered session skills to everyone from Miles Davis to Michael Jackson, but lately it's his solo work that's been bringing the heat. Taking the stage with an unparalleled group of jazz musicians, Miller holds down the groove for the duration of his marathon sets, soloing in turn with his bandmates at shows that often top two hours. Just to give you an idea of how committed these guys are, their encores often extend for up to 45 minutes — a perk fans can expect as the band hits the road for their 2014 tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Brooklyn-born Marcus Miller was raised by a musical family that included his church organist father and jazz pianist cousin. By 13, he had mastered multiple instruments and begun penning his own tunes, becoming a sought-after session musician just a few years later. As a session player, he worked with a veritable laundry list of legendary artists, including Herbie Hancock, Mariah Carey, and Frank Sinatra, concurrently playing bass for Luther Vandross between 1981-2007. He formed his own band in the early '80s, making his solo debut with 1983's funk-inspired Suddenly and releasing a score of albums over the ensuing decades. Ever the multi-talent, Miller also acted as a producer on numerous Grammy-winning recordings for artists including Chaka Khan, David Sanborn, and Miles Davis. Back on the road in 2014, Miller and co. are sharper than ever, setting high expectations for their upcoming tour dates.

As usual, Marcus Miller put on a phenomenal show! What a superb artist! I am so disappointed that he does not perform in the states much; however, I had already planned a trip to Europe just to see him in concert. Yes, I just saw him; but, I cannot wait to see him again!!
Always enjoy his precision, his proficiency, and his immense talent across multiple instruments.
Marcus Miller and his fabulous band wowed the crowd in Philadelphia, PA last weekend for 2 solid hours. It was my first time catching him perform live but I pray it won't be my last.
It appears every seat was a good seat, the artist wasn't late the ushers were kind and helpful and the music was jammin.
First and foremost, we are Marcus Miller fans we have seen him more times than we can count all different places, cities, etc. But for some reason we just felt like this show was just over the top. Marcus is a genius. He’s awesome but this time I don’t know if it was the way he went into the funk thing & the audience got a chance to chime in. Or whatever it was just exceptional for us this time. Awesome show, just awesome!!!
Thé performance was excellent. Marcus Miller and his band played many favorite tunes as well as new ones. The venue seats were spaced a bit too tight but that did not from the performance.
Mr. MIller had a good band put together the drummer is from Philly , a nice concert He did miss some of my favorites by him!!!!
We had a Great time the music was awesome!!! And Marcus Miller is the best...
Absolutely one of the best performances i have witnessed in 63 years. One of the top concerts i have seen. Saw he years ago at the Capital Jazz Festival, been a fan every since. Didn't know if he still had it ? Soo glad i found out !!
Marcus Miller perform flawlessly if he made any mistakes I could not catch them, pretty big sound for five piece band, the sound in the auditorium was excellent, I was seated near the back and could see the whole band, and the chairs was very comfortable. As to the host Rivers casino great job
Marcus was amazing of course. And as you'd expect he was accompanied by extremely talented musicians. Just a great, great show! If you get the chance to see him, I highly recommend it! My only negative was that the venue, Rivers Casino, had the seating just a bit too tight. You couldn't sit against the backrest without being pressed on either side by other people. Just a little bit of personal space would have been nice.
This was my 3rd time seeing Marcus; which is why I ran to this show. I thought he and his band were fantastic. The band was tight in knowing each others next move, that is something that I look for at concerts. They were absolutely GREAT!
Wonderful Concert! If someone from Ticketmaster can e*mail my phone ticket to Jack Dejohnette show I would appreciate it! Thank You!
Marcus Miller alway puts on a great show! His musicians/ band were excellent!! 2 hours was not enough time to listen to his talent and library of music!! Guest singer Larry Braggs killed it, and the audience was itching to get up and dance when Marcus played a solo montage of old school RnB and Funk!! I hope to see him perform again soon!! Venue was tight but not bad l would go again.
Marcus Miller bass player extraordinaire performed at a high level and never stopped during the entire show. I was very impressed with his performance and would see again. Well worth the money!
Marcus is a living legend. Every time I see him it's a treat! Ludlow Garage is a great venue with perfect audio and acoustics.
Excellent venue, knowledgeable staff. Enjoyed it from beginning to end. Parking was easy and free on the street
Althea Rene was smokin' hot! Played the hell out of that flute! Marcus was Marcus. One of the best bass players ever! It was a jam fest!
