About

For over fifteen years, Marc Maron has been writing and performing raw, honest and thought-provoking comedy for print, stage, radio and television.  A legend in the stand-up community, he has appeared on HBO, Conan, Letterman, his two Comedy Central Presents specials and almost every show that allows comics to perform. His book based on his solo show, The Jerusalem Syndrome: My Life as a Reluctant Messiah, is out of print and overpriced by vendors who think it might have some collectors value. His three CDs, "Not Sold Out', ‘Tickets Still Available' and ‘Final Engagement' are comedy cult classics. This year, Marc headlined an episode of Comedy Central's John Oliver's NY Stand-Up Show and was ranked #7 in Comedy Central's annual Stand-Up Showdown. His podcast "WTF with Marc Maron," featuring in-depth interviews with comedy icons like Robin Williams and Ben Stiller, averages 160,000 listeners per week.

    Maron the Master

    by A. R. on 6/20/22Carolina Theatre - Durham

Marc Maron is a master storyteller. He takes you on a walk in his shoes to face the neurotic nature that lives inside him. He is honest and compelling, albeit a tad cranky, but a joy to listen to as he shares vulnerable slices of his life. So glad I was finally able to see him perform live.

    Marc Maron Barrymore bust!

by SE on 4/30/22Barrymore Theatre - Madison

I've always loved the Barrymore. It's classic, clean and has a very friendly staff. The show however was a different story. I was grateful to score good seats up front but that's where my enjoyment ended. I have been a BIG fan of Marc's podcast, acting roles and even his guitar playing. The show itself was a downright 2 hour bummer. Most of the stories and jokes fell flat, had no laughable impact / delivery and some were just depressing. I had HIGH expectations since I bought my tickets last fall but was majorly let down by this performance. Again, this is just my opinion and might not be for other's. I'm still a fan of Marc but I probably will never pay to see him perform live again.

    He made me laugh

by Bruins Girl 23 on 4/25/22The Wilbur - Boston

Got there about 30-45 mins before the show started. No line outside, had to show proof of vaccination card. It wasn't until we got through the doors that we were asked to wear a mask. Easily had my tickets readily available to go inside. We were told what direction to go in. Had to walk up a lot of stairs for the balcony. The bar had one side beer, the other spirits/wine. It was easily blocked off, but just very tight space. Seats were older, but good distance view from Marc. Some of the curtains could use a major cleaning. Very dusty. Old cool building, the light in the middle does look like it's gonna fall.

Marc Maron was awesome! My neighbors not so much…

    by AD10612 on 4/24/22State Theatre - Portland

Marc Maron was hilarious! I am a big fan of his and the show was exactly what I was expecting and I laughed a lot. The issues I had with the show was not Marc Maron’s fault. I was seated in the ninth row in the orchestra section of the State Theater. The show was supposed to start at 7:30 and at least 50+ people who were sitting in our section had not arrived at their seats yet. Maron finally came out at 7:45 and started heckling the numerous stragglers so we could get the show going. My 2nd issue was my neighbor who sat 6 seats down from me, but was in row 10 was clearly really drunk and she projectile vomited onto people in my row and the row in front of us. I was luckily just outside of the splash zone, so I didn’t get hit. I am an extreme emetophobe and the fact that I didn’t vomit in response to what she did is a miracle. I did quickly put my mask on to block out that nasty scent. I seriously hope someone is held accountable for over serving this person. Marc Maron gets five stars. My neighbors and the State theater get two stars, and I am being generous after what had happened.

    Love Marc!

by Chrissy on 4/21/22State Theatre - Portland

Had a wonderful time at Marc's show, he is super funny, pertinent, often crass, brutally honest, and opinionated but we laughed laughed laughed! I wish he was my friend because in this world, laughter truly is medicine, thankfully we have his podcasts and if he comes to Portland ME again, we will be there! Thank you Marc and thank you State Theater for a delightfully fun and happy evening out!

    Worth the drive!

by Bridget on 4/20/22State Theatre - Portland

We loved that it was just him, no opener. He was on stage just about 2 hours and he was great. Worth the 2+ hour drive each way to see him!

If you grew up with emotionally immature parents...

by Schwenmn on 4/19/22The Wilbur - Boston

This special is for you! Jokes about aging parents, dealing with the "quirks" your parents instilled in you, and the ever present existential dread that comes from living through these weird times were extra relatable. Hopefully this isn't the last time, as the name might suggest, but I can't begrudge a man for wanting to retire.

Best Maron performance I've seen so far!

by MB on 4/19/22The Wilbur - Boston

This is my second or third time seeing Maron at The Wilbur and this was his best set so far! Hilarious the whole way through. He played well against the crowd too. If you're a comedy fan, go see Maron, and if you're a Maron fan, this tour might be his best one. Go see it!

by KellyH on 4/19/22The Wilbur - Boston

First time seeing Mar Maron and he did not disappoint. My husband and I listen to him in WTF. We had great seats in the mezzanine and enjoyed a 24oz cider during the show. Will definitely be back!

Great show everything a Maron fan want

by Mike on 4/5/22Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

Funny, incisive, and some wonderful cringe worthy commentary. The only negative to me was the crowd showing up late and not getting settled.

    Darkly funny

by Gonzo on 4/5/22Buckhead Theatre - Atlanta

Marc was hilarious as always this is the second time I've seen him live and I got to say this time was probably better than the last time while he had a routine somewhat you could tell he was riffing playing with the audience a little bit I think the show was like an hour 45 and it wasn't just a comedy show it was theater

    Loved it.

by Sean on 2/22/22Palace of Fine Arts - San Francisco

I wasn’t able to attend the original date and I randomly found seats a couple a days before the rescheduled event. Location was the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco and it was his second show. I first watched Marc in the series easy and I enjoyed his character/craft. I then watched two Netflix specials with his stand up and he was fantastic. His live show did not disappoint.
