About

For over fifteen years, Marc Maron has been writing and performing raw, honest and thought-provoking comedy for print, stage, radio and television.  A legend in the stand-up community, he has appeared on HBO, Conan, Letterman, his two Comedy Central Presents specials and almost every show that allows comics to perform. His book based on his solo show, The Jerusalem Syndrome: My Life as a Reluctant Messiah, is out of print and overpriced by vendors who think it might have some collectors value. His three CDs, "Not Sold Out', ‘Tickets Still Available' and ‘Final Engagement' are comedy cult classics. This year, Marc headlined an episode of Comedy Central's John Oliver's NY Stand-Up Show and was ranked #7 in Comedy Central's annual Stand-Up Showdown. His podcast "WTF with Marc Maron," featuring in-depth interviews with comedy icons like Robin Williams and Ben Stiller, averages 160,000 listeners per week.

Marc Maron wonderful and dark just like I like it

by Ladyomygod on 3/11/24Chevalier Theatre - Medford

Marc Maron is a fabulous stand up. His adlibs are perfect and the subjects he addresses are honest and many of them needed. We're adults! We can discuss serious subjects. We've seen him before and always look forward to seeing him again. The venue, Chevalier Theater in Medford MA, is perfect for capacity and seating design. It's perfect for the intimacy needed for comedy. However, we were on the right orchestra side near the exit doors and it was very cold. I almost went out to my car to get weather stripping and fix the dang thing. Come on, Chevalier... make the venue reasonably comfortable.

    A great experience

by Jess on 1/30/24The Observatory North Park - San Diego

Marc Maron is such a pro and puts on a great show. My fiance says he has heard some of the stories before but that didn't detract from the experience. I like his perspective on things and it's fun to watch the audience react, despite how drunk they were. His opening act was honestly painful, I was waiting for his part to be over. It kind of felt like people were laughing to put him at ease.

    Great evening!

by CKINBK on 12/12/22Town Hall - New York

Really enjoyed Marc Maron, having been a huge fan of his podcast! Brought my husband, and we both loved the fact that his stand up really reaches beyond an 'act' to share an engaging spectrum of personal experiences and observations that make you feel connected to this performer and humanity. Great show!

by Sara Walnut on 12/11/22Town Hall - New York

I've been a fan of Marc Maron for more than 10 years and had seen him live a couple of times, but this was definitely the best performance to date. Brutally funny and deep! Exceptional writing. Much love to this amazing man.

Great time at Hoyt Sherman Place!

by W. S. DesMoines on 8/24/22Hoyt Sherman Place - Des Moines

Marc never disappoints... and it was great that he did a show in Des Moines on this tour! Normally he plays college towns and bigger cities. We were very happy to see him here. Lara Beitz was new to me, but she's also very funny and original. Her tone was a perfect fit for an opener for Marc. Both of them were able to work in some new stuff from their trip here-- very fresh and fun. Don't know if he'll ever come back here, but If he does, I'll be there.

    A great time!

by Troll T Troll on 8/22/22Hoyt Sherman Place - Des Moines

As always, Marc is an insightful as well as perceptive comedian. He can take the bleakest situations and find the dark humor in them. It was a treat watching him work.

    Awesome

by Pete on 8/10/22Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Marc was fantastic! So insightful into current events, the mood of the country, and what we are afraid to admit to ourselves. Very enjoyable, would see him again… unless this really is the last time.

    One of the best!

by SteveL on 8/8/22Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Marc Maron is a national treasure at the top of his game. The venue would be more enjoyable with clearer signage throughout the building and less staff shouting at patrons. Entry was tense, to say the least. Also, such a historic venue deserves to be kept cleaner. Lack of care for the facility will lead to less respect and care by patrons. Yes, this costs money, as does proper staffing.

    Consistently Funny and Smart

by Mallan317 on 8/8/22Old National Centre - Indianapolis

I was a little tentative going in because the standup specials of his that I've seen have been hit and miss. But he was terrific throughout. He clearly knew what city and state he was in and engaged the audience accordingly. His bits about talking to his parents and his girlfriend Lynn's death (there's a dark but hilarious punchline at the end of that one) were high points for me.

    Relatable Wit

by Comedy Connoisseur on 8/8/22Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Sometimes he says what I'm thinking, anecdotal, relatable, endearing, not just one liners, but stories that could happen to anyone with a perspective of intelligence coupled with the perfectly jaded amount of frustration that anyone who cherishes freedom can validate. Candidly human humility that is refreshing coming from a celebrity. The "ballroom" was the ideal setting for the intimacy we want in a show. Worth the money and agenda rearrangement ten fold!

    Pure Mark

by Sam on 6/23/22The Charleston Music Hall - Charleston

Mark delivered exactly like I was hoping he would. He dove a little deep a few times but, we have all been there at some point in our lives. If you enjoy WTF you will not be disappointed seeing Mark live.
