About

MARC BROUSSARD IN CONCERT:

Whether he's incorporating funk, blues, or R&B into his soulful pop sound, Marc Broussard always stays true to his Southern roots. Known for his unique brand of "Bayou soul" the singer-songwriter is a fiery performer, imbuing his tunes with enough passion and energy to make a river jump its banks.  From laid back renditions of classics like "Home" to unique live interpretations of newer material like "Only Everything," Broussard never fails to make fans feel right at home with the easy-going vibe of his intimate live shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born and raised in Louisiana, Marc Broussard's musical roots are closely linked to the state — his father Ted Broussard is a Louisiana Hall of Fame guitarist and former member of swamp pop group the Boogie Kings. After a stint with a Christian band in the early '00s, Broussard's solo career kicked off with several independent efforts that included 2002's Momentary Setback. In 2004, he released his major label debut Carencro on Island Records. The album, an homage to his childhood home of Carencro, produced several Top 40 hits on the US Adult Pop Songs chart, including "Where You Are." Since then Broussard has continued to release albums while touring extensively, including his participation in the 2007 Entertain the Troops tour in the Middle East. Back on the road, Broussard will treat fans to his signature good humor and extended sets of uplifting tunes on a string of upcoming tour dates.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Marc really is an incredible talent who pours his heart into his blue-eyed soul. While it comes through on his recorded music, it's really evident when you see him live."

"He sings with such conviction and soul - that I damn near cried during a couple of songs. It is a complete privilege to see Marc play live."

"...each time he gets better and better. As usual, his brand of rock, soul and bluesy jazz killed the house. Whether he is singing a grinding rock song or a soulful ballad, the listener can feel each and every emotion."

    Broussard Live is INSANE!

    by CathyP1967 on 10/14/09Birchmere - Alexandria

I absoutely LOVED this show. Introduced Broussard's music to my husband. He loved it! I have also become a fan of Charlie Mars, who opened for Broussard. I can't wait to see Broussard again. Absolutely phenominal!

    Amazing...

    by Shawnadancer25 on 10/14/09Birchmere - Alexandria

Marc Broussard always puts on a great concert. This was the 7th time I've seen him and he never disappoints. I recommend this show for any music lover. It's accoustic, real, and honest. You get to see another side of Marc that doesn't always come out in bigger venues.

    Marc Broussard was awsome!

    by CLONG1010 on 10/14/09Birchmere - Alexandria

Marc was better than ever. His most recent tour is titled "Welcome To My Living Room", which hints at an acoustic type show. The setting was relaxed and casual, and Marc played an amplified acoustic guitar, but he still rocked. He was accompanied by a bass/rythm player who was fantastic, and a scaled back drum set. I have seen Marc in concert 4 times, and each time, he plays "Home" a little bit different. Last night was the best one yet. A little more "blues-ey". Great show. Don't miss him!

Marc put on a great show! Laid back, chillin, and pouring out emotion in a GREAT jam session. Every song just bleeds out feeling. Marc sounds like he's been playing the blues for 50 years! This guy can belt em out! Don't EVER miss the opportunity to see this artist!

    Broussard is the man

by Musicinalexandria on 10/14/09Birchmere - Alexandria

This is the second time I've seen Marc. This was a more low key show as it was acoustic and a 3 peice band. The other show was at a club in LA witha bigger band and the crowd was younger. As soon as this guy opens his mouth and starts singing, you know he has some serious talent. He did a couple of songs solo with a guitar, and one in particular was mesmerizing. I would have preferred that he played some more of his uptempo songs, but it was still a great show.

Marc Broussard - full of rock & soul

by AZAZAZAZ on 10/14/09Birchmere - Alexandria

Marc Broussard rocked, wailed and grooved, and channeled blues and soul from musical forefathers. Marc's band is loose and fun, but also tight and together, both in their playing and singing. He played many of his original songs, but also paid homage to great songwriters with covers from James Taylor ("Never Die Young") and Van Morrison (Into The Nystic"). The opening act was Charlie Mars in an all acoustic set. Charlie's music is full of reality and passion. He engaged the audience with fun banter and asking us to sing along on specific choruses. This was a fantastic show, at the best listening room around - The Birchmere.

    Absolutely fantastic!

by megwatk on 8/3/09The Murat/Egyptian Room - Indianapolis

Marc and his band were opening for Sara Bareilles one night in Indy, IN. and I actually enjoyed them more than the main act, Sara. No offense to Sara Bareilles, she did a great job as well, but man were Marc and his band absolutely fantastic! The energy coming from his performance was contagious. I actually went home and bought two of his CD's the next day. If anybody likes jazzy/funk/pop music, this is the man you want to go see. It's great stuff!
