About

MARC BROUSSARD IN CONCERT:

Whether he's incorporating funk, blues, or R&B into his soulful pop sound, Marc Broussard always stays true to his Southern roots. Known for his unique brand of "Bayou soul" the singer-songwriter is a fiery performer, imbuing his tunes with enough passion and energy to make a river jump its banks.  From laid back renditions of classics like "Home" to unique live interpretations of newer material like "Only Everything," Broussard never fails to make fans feel right at home with the easy-going vibe of his intimate live shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born and raised in Louisiana, Marc Broussard's musical roots are closely linked to the state — his father Ted Broussard is a Louisiana Hall of Fame guitarist and former member of swamp pop group the Boogie Kings. After a stint with a Christian band in the early '00s, Broussard's solo career kicked off with several independent efforts that included 2002's Momentary Setback. In 2004, he released his major label debut Carencro on Island Records. The album, an homage to his childhood home of Carencro, produced several Top 40 hits on the US Adult Pop Songs chart, including "Where You Are." Since then Broussard has continued to release albums while touring extensively, including his participation in the 2007 Entertain the Troops tour in the Middle East. Back on the road, Broussard will treat fans to his signature good humor and extended sets of uplifting tunes on a string of upcoming tour dates.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Marc really is an incredible talent who pours his heart into his blue-eyed soul. While it comes through on his recorded music, it's really evident when you see him live."

"He sings with such conviction and soul - that I damn near cried during a couple of songs. It is a complete privilege to see Marc play live."

"...each time he gets better and better. As usual, his brand of rock, soul and bluesy jazz killed the house. Whether he is singing a grinding rock song or a soulful ballad, the listener can feel each and every emotion."

    AMAZING CONCERT!!!

by Kenobi on 10/25/09Center Stage Theatre - Atlanta

Absolutely amazing concert. It felt like we were right there listening to Broussard just play for us. With the new set up the band was really close and it was plenty loud enough and sounded great! He played for about 2 and a half hours so it was definitely a long concert. I highly recommend going to see him. He even played an unreleased track for us and the solos that were improved were unforgettable especially by the electric guitarist. Go see Broussard!

The show was great. The opening act was really good. "Charlie Mars" Talented and very funny! Marc Broussard is a great vocalist! His band rocked it! Overall great show..... Not too impressed with Center Stage staff or security...They were non existent! Problems with seating and people just having free reign to stand wherever they want! But the acts were great!

    Above and beyond

by Anonymous on 10/22/09The Concert Hall - New York

I have been following Marc Broussard's music for years and this was my first time hearing him live. He was truly incredible. His voice is as flawless as in his recordings and his personality jumps off of the stage. Come back to NY soon Marc!!

    Amazing Performance

by Murph23 on 10/20/09The Concert Hall - New York

This concert was all I expected and more. The opener Charlie Mars was a great addition to the show. He has a great voice and some down to earth and relateable lyrics. His acoustic performance really showed his vocal skills. Marc, of course, was a delight to see. Encorporating his life into the show makes for a personal touch and makes one feel at home in his living room. UNFORGETTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Marc Broussard was fantastic

by BMasterson on 10/19/09The Concert Hall - New York

We didn't know what to expect and we had a wonderful time. He and his band were very engaging and, other than a few minor issues here and there, the sound quality in the venue was great as well. This was our first time seeing him and will not be the last.

Marc Brousard is even better live

by MSMR on 10/18/09Birchmere - Alexandria

Few artists have the combination of raw talent, stage presence, charisma and star quality to be better live than on a produced recording. Marc Broussard is one of those few artists. We drove over 2 hours each way to see his performance and would do it again tomorrow if he was performing anywhere nearby.

What an amazing young man. He has the soul of an 80 year old veteran. In these days of flash but no talent celebrities, this guy is an ARTIST.

    A Southern MUST SEE!!!

by EMIA on 10/17/09The Concert Hall - New York

Marc Broussard by far is a must see. He had the whole room up on their feet singing and dancing. He gave some back stories to his songs which were hilarious and made the whole room laugh and interact with him. He even dances around and sometimes starts singing and dancing to his own IPOD on stage. If you would like an entertaining night out with good music and good laughs this is for you. The music isnt the same old same old and worth giving a try. I woulud describe him as Bluesy rock with some soul sprinkled on top.

    love me some marc broussard

by Anonymous on 10/17/09The Concert Hall - New York

as a girl from southeastern louisiana, i try to get my fix of soulful music up in NYC. marc broussard is a good old southern boy who knows how to rock it. his voice is incredible, and his lyrics are amazing. he's a true romantic, as evidenced not only in his compositions, but in the way he goes on about how much he loves and misses his wife and 3 kids (he's written a song for each of them, and played them all at the show). he ended the show with some ridiculously good blues (his electric guitar player, john, was out of control). he also played virtually every song from "carencro", his first album, which is the one i'm most familiar with, so i was happy =) can't wait to see him again soon!

    Broussard was Amazing!

by Anonymous on 10/15/09Birchmere - Alexandria

The Birchmere was just the right size for his event! Big enough for a good crowd but still had the intimate "living room" feel....like his tour is called. His voice was great and the sound was amazing considering it was only him and two other musicians. I especially enjoyed his solo time with no one on stage but him, his guitar and his amazing raspy voice. Marc Broussard is a great artist, writer, and musician!! Will definitely see him again when he comes back to town! Great new version of "Home"!!!

    Marc Broussard was AMAZING

by Anonymous on 10/14/09Birchmere - Alexandria

Marc Broussard put on a great show. He played his new songs, but he also played some of his older stuff. He played for at least an hour and 45 minutes. It was WONDERFUL. Easily one of the best concerts I've been to.

    Marc Broussard / Charlie Mars

by justonian on 10/14/09Birchmere - Alexandria

Marc Broussard is the consummate performer. He is funny, dynamic, and an amazing performer. He is even better live than he is recorded. You can hear his soul in his songs, many of which have very personal backstories, but are written so well that they can be enjoyed universally. I love Marc; this was my second concert, and it will not be the last! Charlie Mars was powerful in his own right, and he truly shone as a solo performer. I bought his CD (which is amazing!) and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for him in the future.
