MARC BROUSSARD IN CONCERT:
Whether he's incorporating funk, blues, or R&B into his soulful pop sound, Marc Broussard always stays true to his Southern roots. Known for his unique brand of "Bayou soul" the singer-songwriter is a fiery performer, imbuing his tunes with enough passion and energy to make a river jump its banks. From laid back renditions of classics like "Home" to unique live interpretations of newer material like "Only Everything," Broussard never fails to make fans feel right at home with the easy-going vibe of his intimate live shows.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born and raised in Louisiana, Marc Broussard's musical roots are closely linked to the state — his father Ted Broussard is a Louisiana Hall of Fame guitarist and former member of swamp pop group the Boogie Kings. After a stint with a Christian band in the early '00s, Broussard's solo career kicked off with several independent efforts that included 2002's Momentary Setback. In 2004, he released his major label debut Carencro on Island Records. The album, an homage to his childhood home of Carencro, produced several Top 40 hits on the US Adult Pop Songs chart, including "Where You Are." Since then Broussard has continued to release albums while touring extensively, including his participation in the 2007 Entertain the Troops tour in the Middle East. Back on the road, Broussard will treat fans to his signature good humor and extended sets of uplifting tunes on a string of upcoming tour dates.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Marc really is an incredible talent who pours his heart into his blue-eyed soul. While it comes through on his recorded music, it's really evident when you see him live."
"He sings with such conviction and soul - that I damn near cried during a couple of songs. It is a complete privilege to see Marc play live."
"...each time he gets better and better. As usual, his brand of rock, soul and bluesy jazz killed the house. Whether he is singing a grinding rock song or a soulful ballad, the listener can feel each and every emotion."
I have seen Marc 3 times at this venue and each time is better! What a voice and such a showman. Hope he returns!!
First time at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall and it was great. Intimate setting and opener Seth Walker and Mark put on a great show.
It was perfect. I’ve had that album on repeat for 20 years and seeing him do it all live was just *chef’s kiss*
Fantastic! I just learned of him last year and I'm so disappointed I didn't know about him earlier. I love just about everything about his music. He reminds me a little bit of Johnny lang. He was really in sync with his band who are also excellent musicians. The only downside is that I wish he had played longer. Can't wait to see him again.
Marc Broussard is great live. He seems to have as much fun as his audience! Great vocal tone and range. Loved dancing to his music!
I had never heard of Marc Broussard, but I do now! Authentic groove that kept me & my ladies dancing all night. I will definitely look for his return! He captured Al Green & Johnny Taylor to a tee;I also enjoyed his original songs too.
I had never heard of MB, but now that I have, I will continue to enjoy his soulful sound. He captured Johnny Taylor and Al Green, along with his original songs like he was sitting on the Bayou. The musicians rocked it! I never stopped dancing, and looking forward to his return
Marc and his band blew it out of the park, a true auditory delight. I don’t think the man could try to sing a bad note, and the band was so tight, as well as each of them contributing to amazing four-part harmonies.
If Marc is performing in or near your city I highly recommend you get tickets for you and your friends. This lovely gentleman with the gritty soul voice is phenomenal. Did I mention that his band is also awesome musicians and singers as well? Love the harmony. Pick up his latest CD. You will not be disappointed.
Had a great time. Opening songs by Field Guide were terrific. Humble young performer w/unique sound. Broussard played a great set with his backup band. Sax player was phenomenal. Venue (Neptune Theater) was perfect size and felt intimate. Wish that Broussard would have bantered with the crowd. Friendly staff and lots of local craft beers! My guests had a great time and so did I.
Had a great time. Really enjoyed the concert. Shout out to the friendly and helpful staff. Overall great experience!!
Marc never dissappoints. Great concert. I have seen him a few times. Long time fan. The opener Nicotine Dolls were great also. New fan of them!
Marc and his band put on a great performance in a fantastic venue. Would definitely see them again.
Great place to see a concert. Most of the seats are situated to see the stage and it's a small intimate venue. However we purchased the last available tickets for the concert which said "obstructed view". They should change obstructed view to "no view". We basically watched the concert on a screen. I would return to see another performance but I would not purchase any obstructed view tickets. The tickets were over- priced to watch the performance on a screen but I would have paid more for an unobstructed view. I didn't want to give it 3 stars because with the right seats, it's a great place to see a concert and the food was great. However I would have given it 5 stars if I had any type of view so settled for 4 stars!
Marc and his band put on a great show. The keyboard / singer / sax player was amazing, I don’t know how he plays sax and keyboards at the SAME TIME!! Nicotine Dolls were great as well!!!!
As usual what a wonderful show! The venue was perfect for his performance. Such a amazing talent and one of my favorite artists. So glad to see him when he comes back to my city.
Nicotene Dolls were a great opening band, and Marc Broussard and his crew were incredible. The venue was spectacular. My friends and I had the best time and didn't want the show to end!
Marc Broussard is my favorite musician to see live, and he was as good as always. Sony Hall is a lovely venue with great service. Food was only okay.
Marc Broussard and his band were certainly at the top of their game. Despite the efforts of the servers Sony Hall was pure chaos. GA seating is far too crowded. I understand the need to create revenue but there is a point where the comfort of the ticket purchasers needs to be taken into consideration We went to BB Kings on 42nd for years and they found a way to balance the need for revenue vs seating comfort and the ability of servers to efficiently serve food. I cannot tell you how many items we saw go back into the kitchen because the server couldn’t find a way to get the food to the customer
Marc's performance was awsome. The nicotine dolls was good but the sound of the instruments drounded out the licrics.
