MANNHEIM STEAMROLLER: CHRISTMAS IN CONCERT:
Mannheim Steamroller have been innovators of the neo-classical genre for over 40 years, blending the finest orchestral sections with electronic elements and a hint of rock to arrive at their remarkably unique sound. Not only are their live performances sonically robust, but they're visually stimulating as well, featuring an incredible light show and illustrations that dance across giant projection screens. Whether they're playing originals like "Catching Snowflakes on Your Tongue" or classics like "Joy to the World," Mannheim Steamroller will have fans in the holiday spirit this season on their 2014 Christmas tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Mannheim Steamroller is the alias of composer Chip Davis, who created the moniker from "Mannheim roller", a musical technique that was popular in Germany during the 1700s. Davis initially sought a record label to release his music, but the lack of interest led to the creation of his own label American Gramophone for his 1975 debut album Fresh Aire. He went on to release seven more albums in the Fresh Aire series, six of which were certified gold by the RIAA. His biggest success, however, came in 1984 with the release of Mannheim Steamroller Christmas, a massive hit and enduring classic of contemporary holiday music. Since then, his Christmas catalog has grown to include thirteen records, containing some of Steamroller's biggest hits and holding the distinction of being some of the most requested Christmas music of all time. With more than 28 million albums sold in the US, Mannheim Steamroller will carry their musical enthusiasm with them throughout their 2014 shows.

This is an annual Christmas tradition for me and Manheim Steamroller never fails in their performances. Love the music and praise the band and orchestra members as they perform their form of music.
Event was NOTHING like prior Mannheim Steamrollers concerts attended. Bored me. Bored the HECK out of my teenage grandchildren. Sorry I spent the money.
The music and visual experiences were awesome. However, our tickets were on the floor and we were squished together like sardines. That took away from the experience.
Although the light show was giving my mother a migraine, we both enjoyed the show! Excellent seating for those with wheelchairs but, the venue should have incorporated more than 1 small elevator.
Again - we totally enjoyed the performance. Becoming seasonal tradition. Worth the drive! Will attend next holiday season if they return. Thanks!
Had a great night enjoying the music with my son. Would definitely see them again.
The show itself was great. The seats were good too. BUT about half an hour into the show an usher asked to see our two tickets in the ADA section. Behind her were two people, neither of which using any type of aid to walk. The usher then came back and told us that the other two people had tickets for our seats. I told her that we did too. She then asked us if we minded moving down so the other people could take the seats that we had tickets for. My wife uses a walker to get around. I told her that we were not moving and that we were in the seats first. She then told me again that the other couple had tickets for our seats. I told her that we did too and that we were not moving. The three of them then left.
The Mannheim Steamroller performance was outstanding. The music was wonderful.
They still are as great as they always have been. A great night of wonderful music and memories

Mannheim Steamroller is as good as ever. The musicians were engaging and talented. They sounded fantastic!
The parking was good. The help in finding our seats was off by a section. The lights from the stage sometimes were to bright.
Great show with well rounded musicians of all ages. Some of the background video to the music was definitely a flashback from the past but it made the show more personal. Really liked the mix of classical and modern music blended together to make well composed music. Great show but the only downside was the seats. We had floor seating for our venue and the seats were too close to each other and very uncomfortable. Other than that, they started on time, music was wonderful and highly recommended!
The orchestra was good. The videos were not good. They are young ladies singing Greensleeves. Not a very moving rendition. After they'd played 55 minutes the lights came on and the orchestra members all walked off the stage. Some people left and some stayed. We went and asked a girl at concessions if this was an intermission. She said I don't think they have an intermission, but they never tell us anything. After 20 minutes, we left. I wanted to hear the Christmas Carol song I came to hear. Not sure they played it or not.
Outstanding musicians. Their video and special effects are a little cheesy. They take a break at the one hour mark, and just walk off the stage. They don't make an announcement that they are going on break, though. The song finishes, the lights come on, and they just walk off stage. There is no announcement that they are on break, nothing. The audience just looks around at each other and tries to figure out whats happening. Is the concert over, are they taking a break, what's going on? But the music overcomes all the other short comings, so 5 stars.
The concert was wonderful. I have always enjoyed Manheim Steamrollers Christmas music and they certainly did not disappoint. The music was great as was the acoustics and video, however, the venue only had one way in unless you were VIP and the line was very long which causes a lot of walking. Although we were early the venue made us late to the concert which was disappointing. Otherwise had a wonderful time and a great concert
I enjoy the music of Mannheim Steamroller but the live experience was less than expected. It starts with the Orleans Arena and the narrow folding chairs crammed too close for comfort. My neck and back are still sore several days later. Then there is the music, where I was expecting live performance but they included far too much canned music and all vocals were canned. Left at intermission.
The music talent of Mannheim Steamroller was great. A couple technical issues made the concert good. I had tickets close to the stage in the stage R stand. There was a large ceiling to stage cable hanging cutting my view in half. The speakers were also facing forward so the full sound was not able to be heard. I guess if you go to a lot of concerts women know to leave their purses in the car. I’m a senior and this was my first concert in many years. I had to walk back to the car to leave my purse! Pretty unexceptable.
My Aunt and I had a wonderful time at our recent Manheim Steamroller concert. The Orchestra was amazing and it was nice to revisit an old family tradition. The venue would have been better if they had aisle lighting on the stairs as people were trying to find their seats.
