Wouldn't have traded this experience for the world. Suede were honestly incredible, and Manics will forever be my favorite. I appreciated the whole evening so much.

    THB reunion tour

    by Elle on 9/1/20

Seeing MSP, even as a three piece, was truly the most amazing experience of my life! I’ve seen a lot of bands, and I can honestly say that the Manics gave the most professional and raw performance I’ve EVER seen. And after the show, they stayed for hours afterwards to make sure that every fan who wanted had a chance to talk to them and get a photo. What an amazing band!

    Exceptional as ever!

    by edawg13 on 4/27/15The Sinclair - Cambridge

The Manics put on one of the most inspired shows I've ever seen! Scaled down to just a three-piece it could not get much better than the remaining members of the band not missing a single beat the entire gig. It made you feel like you were hearing The Holy Bible for the first time, just like they are rehearsing it in front of you. You won't see a more raw and honest performance. Come back to the US soon!! GO SEE EM!!

    Great performance

by DanDumitrescu on 10/19/09Webster Hall - New York

Lst time I saw them at Bestival, and they didn't had the same vibe as in Webster Hall. It was tha fact that the concert was looking more like a private party with only a few hundred fans. Great night. Thanks

    Manics US return

    by ucb7 on 10/16/09Majestic Theatre - Detroit

A completely brilliant experience to see one of the best live bands in the world. Always wanted to see them live and the smaller venue (than European gigs) meant that all the crowd were right up at the stage. Great set, just loved every minute of it.

The Greatest Night Of My LIfe

by ManicChuck on 10/9/09Majestic Theatre - Detroit

DETROIT – MAJESTIC THEATRE – FRIDAY, OCT 2, 2009 Well, the dream is finally complete. For my wife and I, and I am sure many more of you, we can now say that we have seen the Manic Street Preachers. Some of us even got to meet and get photos and autographs with our musical heroes as well. They were true Welsh gentlemen as they shook hands, talked, and signed everything that was shoved in their faces. They wanted to know OUR names! I will treasure the photos and memories for a lifetime. When they carried out the classic white Les Paul belonging to the one and only James Dean Bradfield out to the stage, you could have knocked me down with a feather. The Manics took the stage, and faces were aglow, tears were shed, and so many of us sat in utter disbelief as “Motorcycle Emptiness” filled the building and our hearts at the same time. Some of us sang along so loudly, and with such a reckless abandon, that our vocal cords may never be heard from again. James and Nicky smiled through the entire performance, and they all played as though they were performing for a crowd of 70,000 in the UK on that chilly Detroit night. James’ militaristic jacket was way too cool for words, as was the feather-boa-covered mic stand of Nicky Wire. Sean played with machine-like precision. Nicky’s mid-air splits were plentiful, and James dazzled us all as he spun around like a pinwheel while nailing guitar leads at the same time…and that voice…oh, that voice...”You Stole The Sun From My Heart” pierced through us like a double-edged sword as we all jumped in place with the energy of a young army…You could so easily tell that the Manics themselves were so glad to be there, but believe me, the pleasure was all ours. The love that filled the Majestic Theatre that night was thicker that the very mortar that held the building together. “A Design For Life” never sounded more important to me, even after the many years that have passed by since “Everything Must Go” was unleashed upon an audience that had no idea how the guys would carry on without Ritchie James Edwards…We saw a band that night that has conquered the very mountains that they have been knocked down before… My wife and I met some very nice people at the show, and by the end of the night, it was like we had known each other our entire lives. In a strange way, maybe we actually have…we have all shared the same longing that The Manics would someday grace US shores again, and we all felt the same excitement when the US tour was announced. For all that enjoyed the show along with my wife and me that night, may God bless you, and thank you for being a part of the happiest night of my life. We will meet up at a gig next time they come to the US – and they WILL be back – Nicky promised me!! I will close with one more statement – I lost my Father around 2 months ago, making this one of the worst years of my life – however, this night has made my year worth living through. Nothing will ever top this experience, except maybe if James, Nicky and Sean play a show in our own backyard at our house. If that ever happens, you are ALL invited!! Thanks to everyone in that room that night. You will forever be in my heart and soul…

    MIND BLOWING

by KAtieface on 10/8/09Webster Hall - New York

I love the Manix but I couldn't possibly imagine how brilliant they would be live. The TV doesn't give them justice they are AMAZING! They might have talked serious trash about the USA in the past but I think they've repented. I love them even more now. Nicky Wire didn't say anything remotely offensive! BRILLIANT!

The energy was incredible - Guitartastic

by smithsd1 on 10/8/09Webster Hall - New York

Firstly - Websters has the best sound and feel over most venues of this size. I thought the Manics would be to BIG for the venue. I have never been to a Manics concert where I left short changed or disappointed. The guitar sound is awesome, James Dean Bradfield's voice is amazing. How does he do a 2 hour set with that level of voice. My voice was failing after singing almost every word of every song. Nicky and Richie's lyrics live on for ever "In the beginning when we were winning when are smiles were genuine" from Everlasting is a standard I live my life by. Until next time..............look forward to the next MSP gig

    MANIC WAS THE BEST

by Zille on 10/8/09Webster Hall - New York

I haven't gone to a concert since I was 15 and this was amazing and unforgettable. They were very cool, at the end of the concert they talked to the fans, autographed stuff and took pictures with everyone. It was worth every single minute and dollar spent.

Intimate show with lots of energy

by flor6768797 on 10/8/09Webster Hall - New York

and focus on their early material with some newer hits in the mix. Nothing from Life Blood though... the band had a great time and it certainly rubbed off on the audience. (The opposite of U2s New Jersey gig, where i felt the band where tired of singing their old songs over and over again.....)

After ten long years, The Manics return!

by jrmarr on 10/8/09Webster Hall - New York

I would like to start off by saying that the Manic Street Preachers are the only band that I have been almost obsessed with from the moment I heard their music. I and many other U.S. fans had virtually given up on them ever returning to the states so when they had announced a brief tour of America I had picked up tickets months in advance. I was unsure of the reaction they would recieve since the Manic Street Preachers have been virtually unrecognized here despite achieving incredible success everywhere else in the world. Well, the venue was packed with rabid fans such as myself who gave them a hero's welcome that they so richely deserved. The band responded by playing a transcendent set where they played all of their best known songs as well as a generous portion of tracks from their phenominal new album "Journal For Plague Lovers." The show could not have gone on long enough for me and several others in the audience, especially the individuals who had traveled cross-country and in some cases across the globe to have this chance to see them in one of the most renowed clubs in New York. If their is anyone reading this who is even remotely interested in The Manics I implore you to catch them during these last few dates of this tour and I can only hope that they return to these shores during their next album/tour cycle because it was truly an unforgettable experience that will be virtually impossible for any other band (other than the Manics themselves) to possibly "repeat".

    Manics rocked!

by AnthonyKidA on 10/8/09Webster Hall - New York

In what proved to be a triumphant return to the U.S., the Manic Street Preachers tore through an energetic set at Webster Hall Oct. 7 that included tracks from their new album and some of their greatest hits including Enola Alone, All Surface No Feeling and If You Tolerate This. It's been 10 years since the band last played in the U.S., with singer James Bradfield saying "Why, why, why did we wait 10 years." For fans who never had a chance to see the band live, it was a rare opportunity to see one of the world's best live acts, and the Manics lived up to their reputation. The group engaged the audience in a way that few bands do nowadays, and honored their former bandmate Richey Edwards, who went missing in 1995 and was officially declared dead last year. Bradfield explained that Edwards had written the songs for the new album, and then ripped through versions of Peeled Apples and Jackie Collins Existential Time. Nicky Wire bounced up and down throughout the performance (amazing how he still looks like a rock star after all these years) while Bradfield proved he is one the best rock vocalists of all time. Bottom line: One of the best live shows ever.

Manic Street Preachers - Webster Hall, NY

by ManicsFan on 10/8/09Webster Hall - New York

Wow, what a show! Manics played songs from nearly every album and some singles. They looked great in their sailor outfits, were very appreciative of the crowd excitement and talkative on the mic. Nicky Wire looked terrific in his sailor hat, sunglasses, with his feather boa on the mic stand and his constant bouncing. Even a brief acoustic set from James Dean Bradfield. Well worth the 10 year wait!

    deep, dark depression.

by xiaohouzi on 10/8/09Webster Hall - New York

I bought two tickets for the concert in NYC months ago and then immediately bought tickets for the concert at Sziget Festival in Budapest. Then i immediately bought a flight ticket to France and drove to Budapest to see the Manics where Klaxons opened and Placebo seemed to be the headliner. Best concert experience ever although i lost my camera bag in all the chaos up at the stage during Placebo. So the reason i'm in a funk is because i couldn't make it back to NYC to see my favorite band play at Webster Hall. Fortunately, i was able to make sure that two of my friends there could use my tickets. I'm hoping that they have been converted to Manicism as i have. Hope to see them in NYC some day.
