I was pleasantly surprised by O Brother. They were really good. I like The Features and they were awesome as well. Biffy Clyro is one of my favorite bands. I have seen them in all of their L.A. gigs. I have never seen them in a place this small. They were incredible on stage. We also got to meet them after the show and they were the coolest people ever. It was insane. I didn't stay for Manchester Orchestra.
The two opening acts were not good at all. I felt bad for Chris Staples, everybody was talking and not even listening to his set. Manchester Orchestera set was great. Andy Hull sounds beautiful live.
I discovered Manchester Orchestra through a solo project done by the lead singer. I thought his voice was unique so I really got into his side project, Right Away, Great Captain. They opened for Brand New a few months ago and I thought the singers voice sounded familiar so after a bit of web searching I discovered it was the same guy. They are going on tour with Thrice in a few weeks, and being that Thrice is my all time favorite band, I will definitely be going to as many of those shows as possible. Besides all of this, they put on a great show, full of energy, and sound like the cd, which I greatly appreciate.
The first act, O Brother, was ok. They played a short set, but definitely seemed to be playing as if they were headlining. Then Biffy Clyro played, and they blew me away. I had heard them before, but their live music was outrageous. Next, as most of you know, the Features played and were awesome as well. Manchester Orchestra was AMAZING live! They sounded much better than any recording i have heard from them. And, Andy is one funny bastard.
O brother and Chris (acoustic guy) were absolutely terrible openers. If you're going to see this line up just miss the first two. They had bad sound and terrible moodings for the next acts. The Features put on a great show and sounded great. Manchester Orchestra did an amazing job. The Brand New drummer didn't miss a beat and Andy Hull sounded amazing.
The Manchester Orchestra show was by far one of the best I've seen. The openers were really good. I particularly enjoyed The Features, they really know how to put on a great show. Manchester was awesome as well. After seeing their show I enjoy their music much more and have a greater appreciation for it.
Manchester Orchestra is a great band And I can' listen to them all the time and not get sick of them. They put on a great live show and it sounds way better live then on CD. Keep up the good work men of music
Sick. No other words. But it seems that I have to use more words so this is my space filler here.
YOU CANNOT MISS THIS SHOW! Andy performed with a phenomenal amount of intensity and intimacy, but with no fear of rocking out. Couple that with a truly epic track listing, and you can begin to understand that this band is going to go down in history as AMAZING. The dynamics were flawless. Get excited; get pumped; loose your mind; go see Manchester!
I went to see the Features, and they were amazing! I am not a fan of Manchester Orchestra. Too whiny. But those that like their music seemed to enjoy the show. I like the Palladium Ballroom.
The set list was amazing, they played most of the new cd. Shake it out was amazing to say the least, and the 50 cent song was...well hilarious and very entertaining. Too bad a drunken dallas guy kept messing Andy up...sorry Andy, some people can't hold their alcohol. Bottem line....this is the 3rd time i've seen Manchester and they just keep getting better. I can't wait until the next cd!!
Simply well done. anything you could ever want from a live show and from this band.
Manchester Orchestra was great! Wish The Features had a better set though.
The show was so great- i enjoyed every minute of it. I haven't seen a show with bands so into what they were doing like this in so long. I had a wonderful time-- and hope they come back again soon!
This was one of those events where I can honestly say every band was amazing and it was well worth the cost of admission. I'd seen Manchester before, but the smaller and more intimate setting Revolution allows for really favors the band. Their music is raw and emotional and fun and moving. The show was one of the best I've seen recently.
