About

Madness on Tour

Over 40 years since the release of their debut album, UK's ska survivors Madness remain committed to taking fans one step beyond. With six of their seven original members still reporting to active duty, Madness have retained their reputation as one of Britain's most joyful and energetic live bands, with a deep repertoire of over 20 UK Top 40 hits to pull from. Tellingly, the band capped their 2019 campaign with three nights at London's legendary Roundhouse venue, for an event they dubbed "Past Present Future" — which suggests this veteran crew still has much skanking left to do. Whether you catch them in a club or at a summer festival, an evening of nonstop dancing and pint-sloshing sing-alongs is guaranteed.

Madness in Concert

Though they emerged as part of the two-tone ska scene that flourished in late-'70s England, Madness eventually distanced themselves from their punkier peers by fashioning a more quintessentially British pop sensibility and maintaining a permanent presence near the top of the UK charts for much of the '80s. After party-crashing the mainstream with irreverent skanking classics like "One Step Beyond" and "Baggy Trousers," Madness revealed a more sanguine side with 1981's hit cover of the ‘70s pop confection "It Must Be Love" and the eternally anthemic "Our House," which became their one and only Top 10 single in the U.S. But while the hit parade had slowed down by the '90s, Madness' influence was filtering down to acts ranging from No Doubt to Blur to The Streets, setting the stage for Madness' 21st-century renaissance. In 2009, the band released their first album of original material in a decade, The Liberty of Norton Folgate, an ambitious song cycle that catapulted the group back into the UK Top 5 and proved this group was not about to recede into the oldies circuit.

  • Absolute Madness!

by reptyl4U on 5/22/25House of Blues Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Great venue with easy parking and there was enough space between people, despite being a sold-out show. The band went on very close to the designated time, which is appreciated. Throughout the show there were antics and banter which made it more intimate. Needless to say, every song was great with the crowd singing along. At the end of the night, there was a good feeling all around and a sense that I more than got my money's worth of fun and entertainment. The downsides - There could have been more air circulation in the venue for my liking, and the available band merch was meager (which was sad as I had a good number of ducats to spend).

  • The Best!

It was like Madness played a setlist just for me. Almost all of the music was from their first 3 or so albums. A lot of ska, pure fun!

  • Madness...could have been so much better!

by Madness fan! on 5/19/25House of Blues Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 3 out of 5

Suggs could have cared less it seemed. He said "was it really worth the flight [to Vegas]..."So many in the audience were devoted fans wearing Madness t-shirts from a bygone era. I'd think he'd bring it for that audience. We flew from Los Angeles for this rare Madness in America show. The show setlist also should have been the hits and a few from their recent album. There were way to many covers! The band was amazing! Horn section and percussion really brought the energy to the Ska & rock & roll.

  • Excellent

As always Madness was in excellent form. It stands to reason if you've been playing together for 45 years. Song choices were great. With such a large catalog of music how do you choose what to play? But of course they couldn't get away without playing the biggest known songs: Our House, It Must be Love, House of Fun, One Step Beyond adding the latest single, Mr Apples Thank God they don't cut out; Bed and Breakfast man which is my favorite live song. You can't go wrong seeing Madness. They don't come often so don't miss out

  • Good show, great songs

    by The Oracle on 5/18/25Channel 24 - SacramentoRating: 5 out of 5

Madness put on a great show with a lot of energy. They sounded great. They saved It Must be Love and Our House for last. The saxophone player stole the show.

  • Good times!!

Excellent show!! Great vibe! Only criticism is they opened with One Step Beyond but did not finish the opening verse "Hey you don't watch that watch dis"and then went straight to the music....what happened to the rest of the open?? That said had a fantastic time and will definitely go again if/when they come around. Side note I LOVE the Fox! Best venue in Oakland!

Madness was fantastic. I brought my daughter with me and she loved it. It was great to hear some of their newer songs as well as their classics. So much fun! And the Fox theater is beautiful! Every seat is a good seat and the staff was super helpful!
