Kids had a blast, they put on a great show! Music was great
Awful -- this show was a total waste of money!! Skip it.
Overall the show is good for the toddler set. I went with 2 girls, 8 & 9, and while they enjoyed the show, they did get a little bored towards the end. I thought the show was too short for the money paid ($120.00 for 3 tickets). The show was 45 mins for the first half; 15 minute intermission, 20 minute ending. Therefore the show was just over an hour long. I could have stayed home and watched all releases on video and had a better time. The costumes were cute, the penguin characters and Gloria were our faves. Lastly, I wish the theaters would stop selling those annoying battery-operated light sabers and whirly-gigs!! We had annoying toddlers seated on both sides of us who kept turning on those ridiculous toys throughout the entire show. Needless to say it was disruptive and incredibly rude of the parents not to put them away. Note to parents - respect the other theater goers and control your obnoxious kids!
Well, I have taken my kids to see a few shows at radio city (Barney, Diego, Backyardagains, etc...) and the past shows were a hit with me and my kids. My kids and I were very excited and looking to have the same enchanting experience as in the past, however it stop short of ok. It was a nice show overall, however I felt they should have engaged the kids more into the show. cause most kids were rather like ok, like watching a movie. You sit and watch and then leave, no interaction / motivation with the audience (kids). They need to know who they created the show for, which is the kids they like to have that special feeling of being a part of the show and have those little moments in the show where they are able to participate and have that interaction with the character's. It's just not about telling the story, the movie does that well a live show for kids should be geared more to making them a part of it, but other than that it was a good show music and performance wise.
I took my six year old daughter and my 11 year old niece. We really enjoyed the show but we were expecting a little more. For example, the show's plot did not completely follow the movie which we were expecting. If they were not going to follow the movie script then they should have made the live show even better...more music, interaction with the audience, and eye-catching sets/costumes. also, more crowd control is needed. the audience was way too loud. it was hard to hear the actors over the audience.
The play was very nice. The costumes were amazing!! My daughter and I really had a great time! We are looking forward to more plays in the future. Great job to the cast and all who were involved in the play's production. Kudos to u all!!
This was a pretty good show. When it was time for intermission nobody really knew if it was over or if it was intermission. It was funny but overall I feel it could have been better, mabe more animated acting or better costumes since it was a depiction of a cartoon. Also the I like to move it move it song did not sound anything like the movie, you barely heard the song you only heard the voice part. It was hard to follow along.
The show was good for both adults and kids. They took the main parts of the movie and integrated them properly into the show. As always if you don't have to drive public transportation is best. Parking prices are outrageous!!!!!!!
Our 4 yr old seemed to like it however for a Broadway show we were very disappointed. We were at more impressive off Broadway shows at a 1/4 of the cost. Perhaps this is a lesson not to go for traveling shows. The costumes were underwhelming, the actor gestures were out of sync from the pre-recorded music. Overall very poor show.
The show was not what we expected. It was very juvenile.
Me and my son loved the show, it was packed with great songs that the children can sing to. All the children was dancing in their seats.
Very good and entertaining show which storyline follows the first animated Madagascar movie well.
I went to see this show with 11 family members and a friend with her family of 6. We ALL were extremely disappointed with the show. It did not live up to Radio City quality at all. We felt there should have been a larger cast and more use of that famous stage. It was a very low budget show. Again, very disappointed!
The show was just ok for me. I napped during the second half, but my son really enjoyed it. It's not a show for me, I felt the dancing could have been more enthused and the singing could have been a little louder. But I'm an adult and it's really for the children, so based on my son's reaction, I would recommend to a friend.
My grandson loves Madagascar so when I received notice it was coming to NY I had to take him and was not disappointed. He and I had a ball! Of course I had to buy the Alex light and Marty stuff zebra for him. Beautiful moment!
The acting was terrible, I could not beleave what I was hearing ,it was not appropriate for children.
MADAGASCAR WAS OK BUT A BIT BORING. THE SHOW TO ME WAS CATERED MORE TOWARDS ADULTS THAN KIDS. MY KIDS WERE WONDERING WHEN THE SHOW WOULD BE OVER BECAUSE THEY WERE GETTING SLEEPY.
intermission was short and the show was a lil confusing...
I saw two other show this last 6 months much more awesome for a few $ more. it's for very small kids.
