I just witnessed greatness on the Variety Playhouse stage, and her name is MACY GRAY!!! This was my first time seeing Macy live, and DEFINITELY will not be my last. She is an awesome chanteuse and entertainer. I'm tempted to follow her tour to New Orleans, but I've gotta go to work... :) See her and dance, dance, dance!!!
She was everything and more....I am really glad I had a chance to see her live :0)

This was my second time seeing her at the Carolina Theater. The set list was different than before, but she was just as engaging! Her presence, her performance, her band and her vocal style were all phenomenally unique. In this area, the venues usually discourage standing/dancing (so that no one's view is blocked I assume)--Macy took care of that. I didn't see anyone in their seat by the last third of the show and we weren't discouraged! It was great to be a part of that listening experience. I'll be back whenever she is!

Macy's sound is unlike any other! ...And she's STILL GOT IT! The Carolina Theater was the perfect venue for a close and personal experience with her music! Great Show and Great Sound!!!

My husband and I are major fans of Macy Gray and watching her live and up close was amazing. She got the crown going, her voice is as beautiful as ever, and a funny person as well. Service and food and the Birchmere were very good as well.
The band played too loud. Could not hear the lyrics. I like to hear a performance close to how it sounds on a recording or radio The warm up act was lousy. The show began too late. There was a long pause between the warm up act and the actual appearance of Macy Gray. Would not go to another future show of hers.
Macy Gray put on an awesome show! She engaged with the audience so much. I would see her again. Her new music was awesome as well. I would def recommend her to friends.
Macy Grey is a cross of Janis Joplin and Amy Winehouse. Her smoky, raspy voice may not hit many octaves, but she is as genuine and as real an artist as they come.She has her own style, wit and humor. She has a very talented band , as well. By today's standards of artists with sex, gimmicks and poor voices. Macy Grey is in a class of her own and should not be missed. You will enjoy her shows and if you are younger and not know who she is, you will learn something, music is not about gimmicks, it's about the passion you have in your soul and voice to express what you feel. Don't miss Macy Grey when she's around, you won't be sorry
I thought the show was on the 10th and it was on the 3rd. Imagine my extreme disappointment to miss Macy Gray :(
The voice. The charm. It was all there. I felt privileged to be in the audience. The new songs were great and I went home and preordered the cd. Her BAND....WOW....TALENTED.And she knows how to showcase them.
Macy Grey was incredible. She interacted with the audience. Also, the band was "off the hook". This was one of the best shows that I have seen in a long time.
I saw her in ridgefiled playhouse on 10/04. Unfortunately, the spectators didn’t show too much enthusiasm during her performance to the point that she has to encourage them to stand up and dance. It was like playing for the dead. I thought that she did put a great show. Perhaps, it would have been much more liveliness going on at a different venue with different crowd who understand her music well enough.
I kept getting different shades of awesome.I enjoyed the concert it had something for the young and the old. While the weather was rainy, windy and cold: The stage kept the weather from being an obstacle.
Freeida and her crew rocked the stage. There was nothing but high energy and plenty of bounce. Watch out when Freedia gets into her groove and show you how to bounce. I loved every minute of her show.
She rocked Pridefest in Milwaukee!!! Such style and class & really a cute, quirky personality.
