  • Great show - hot venue

by Cali Vic on 8/20/25Palace Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

The show was amazing. I’m taking stars away from for the venue. The venue had no air circulation. Doors were left open. But it was so hot inside. Also the signage to find the restrooms was non-existent. I appreciate you using these classic theaters, but you can’t have a venue full of people Sweltering.

Like I told Macy during the meeting and greet...AMAZING show. I listen to her while doing my dishes and she prevents me from "COMMITTING MURDER"instead I just wash away. Love you I hope to see you again very soon

  • Still good but…

by Darren on 8/19/25Palace Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 3 out of 5

Two pre show performances were really bad! She didn’t come Out for an hour as half. End in a good note but I don’t feel It was a most see show. Still loved her songs! She left the stage more than e she actually sings.

  • Could have been better

First off, Macy Gray is a goddess & I was very excited to see her. I saw her 25 years ago after her first album dropped & her music played a significant role in my life. I was also excited to finally be seeing a show a the historic Palace, in downtown LA. Although I love old buildings this one is a wreck, very hot, dark & really quite gross with broken windows etc. The opening act, Terra Renea was perhaps the worse act I’ve ever seen. She sung off key while her husband pretended to spin behind her. There was no band just 2 dancers with the usual stripper moves while Terra spoke of herself & positivity. Terra’s dance moves and stage presence looked like it was programmed by a robot. It felt like a high school talent show Why was she there opening for Macy Gray? Having to sit through that prior to the show wasn’t great. Macy started strong, and after several songs and a stirring cover of Creep, she did her entire first album skipping her iconic song, I Try, leaving it for the encore. Unfortunately, she had the audience sing a lot of it, which is not what I was there for. Her band was amazing, but Macy was a bit weak and at the end she stood on stage while a recording of new song played. Not sure why she didn’t just perform it.

  • Macy was fab not sure of the first warm up band though

by DollychopsUS on 8/19/25The Magnolia - El CajonRating: 5 out of 5

Macy Gray was fabulous. It just took a while to finally see her on stage. I was totally unsure with the 1st warm up band and literally thought I was watching a very bad talent show. I wish I had missed the 1st warm up and had just seen the 2nd warm up who was super talented. Macy came on at 9:30pm so by 8pm and an hour and a half of seeing warm up I was sooooo ready to see Macy Gray. Not sure who chose that 1st warm up band I cannot believe it was a Macy Gray choice. Macy Gray was amazing. Funny and talented. Loved her.

  • Macy Gray

by Karen on 8/18/25The Magnolia - El CajonRating: 5 out of 5

She was excellent from start to finish. We sat center row M and the seats were perfect. The opening show Faith Bell was really good too.

  • Disappointing show

by Showsgalore on 8/18/25The Magnolia - El CajonRating: 2 out of 5

Opening acts were difficult to watch They were a very poor choice as if at the last minute.I would not watch them in a pub even. Macy was in poor form very much supported by her band. There was no energy and she had trouble standing and walking with frequent breaks. Her lead guitarist did a slo number that was amazing and raised the roof..Would love to see more of her.Overall a very disappointing show.

  • Great Venue

by Mr Moore on 8/18/25The Magnolia - El CajonRating: 4 out of 5

The Magnolia is an excellent venue. There isn't a bad seat in the house. However, like most venues, the drink prices were stupidly expensive. We saw Macy Gray, and we thoroughly enjoyed her. We are not interested in country music. We almost walked out due to the opening act!

  • Really horrible.

by Marshall on 8/18/25The Magnolia - El CajonRating: 2 out of 5

I wish we had known that there was going to be too warm up Acts. The first was really horrible and the second not much better. Macy's Act was fine and entertaining but we were basically out of gas by the time she came on. I wish that venues would publicize concerts that had warm up group(s) and perhaps the reviews on those group(s). It really ruined the evening we were prepared for. Surprisingly we were astonished that Macy would employ or allow these groups to entertain the crowd. I believe Macy is famous enough and still an entertaining act that she wouldn't need groups to warm the crowd.
