Luenell On Tour
No topic is off-limits when Luenell takes the mic. A bold and fearless performer who's not afraid to get a little nasty, she has been tearing it up on stages and screens for more than 25 years. The result is a uniquely eventful and totally wild comedy career that's included everything from playing Borat's girlfriend to being inducted into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame.
Luenell began her career in entertainment as a stand-up comedian at clubs in the Bay Area and as a TV host for the Oakland cable station Soul Beat. After relocating to Los Angeles, she hustled hard for spots at the city's foremost comedy clubs while scoring parts in film and TV.
She found an invaluable friend and mentor in Robin Harris, the beloved actor and comedian who died in 1990. His encouragement and Luenell's experiences as a remarkably resilient woman in a male-dominated world led to a brand of comedy that was distinctive, unpredictable, raunchy, and very much her own.
After years in the stand-up trenches, Luenell saw her career heat up in a big way when she became one of the only bona fide actors in Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. In the wake of her hilarious appearance in the 2006 comedy blockbuster as the prostitute girlfriend of Sacha Baron Cohen's title character, Luenell was in very high demand.
She appeared on TV shows like The Tony Rock Project and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. She had roles in movies like Think Like a Man and That's My Boy. She showed off her well-honed stand-up skills on Snoop Dogg Presents The Bad Girls of Comedy, Comics Unleashed, Katt Williams: Katthouse Comedy, and The Comedy Central Roast of Flavor Flav.
In 2009, Luenell starred in her debut solo comedy special, Hey Luenell. Recurring roles on Californication and Lopez introduced her talents to new audiences, too. Things can only get bigger and brighter for the Original Bad Girl of Comedy thanks to starring roles in such forthcoming films as Jamie Foxx's All-Star Weekend and the comedy Ballbuster. Of course, fans know that Luenell's live shows are where she really lets loose.
Great show both the headliner and opening act. I’ve recommended it to others.
Luenell was Great! The reason for the 4 stars was because of the non organization of line outside! How long we waited to get into the 930pm show on October 8th! They moved the line to let ppl out from the previous show! Once they did that ppl was just walking up to the door to get in. They were plenty of ppl that jumped the line while the real line was going to street. There were no employees at the door to let ppl know that they had to go to the end of line!
There was area where you can’t see stage at all updated seating well needed.
Luenell is an excellent storyteller. I laughed so hard and thoroughly enjoyed myself. She could tell a story of paint drying and make you laugh so hard you would be crying. Glad she has this residency in Vegas. I’ll be back!
So the show was great, I had a wonderful time. Thank you for putting such a great show. But I lost my wallet there and no one has turned it in that was my only bad part about that night
I enjoyed the comedy show it was very nice I enjoyed the crowd it was nice that it was clean as a pleasant
She is the realest and funniest female comedian out.
Kym and Luenell gave an awesome performance. I felt like they gave a great effort. You could feel the show. I laughed from start to finish, both shows.
I thought Luenell and Kim was super funny. My mom and I had a great time. Please have her back again.
The show was awesome. Both ladies were hilarious and had a lot of energy
LueNell and Kym were funny as HELL!! LOVED both of them! The Sound Board was excellent asusual!! No seat is a bad seat. Hope Luenell and Kym come back to Detroit.
This event was fantastic! The show started on time and the venue was wonderful as always with a great staff!
The show was good, felt it could of been a little longer. The way to go into the venue was not the best set up
So I bought the tickets for her 10 pm Bday show on March 8. I thought there was an extra fee to celebrate her bday. No, my friend and I got to meet her opener, Aaron Thompson as well as LUENELL! She is such a nice person, veey humble and that vibe of hers is infectious.
Both Luenell & her opening act Jay Reid were hilarious. It was our first time seeing her and the firs time at the Jimmy Kimmel venue. It’s was relaxing, clean and overall great experience.
The Jimmy Kimmel Comedy Club is amazing. The staff had amazing customer service. My husband and I definitely are excited to go back again.
This was a family affair, and enjoyed every single minute of it VIP seats, and a constant party after the show
Luenell’s New Year’s Eve show at Jimmy Kimmel Comedy Club was amazing!!! She’s gritty, funny, yet truthful. Nothing is left to the imagination. Luenell will have you laughing so hard that you choke! It was a great show to bring in the new year with.
She is hilarious and awesome !! Gut-busting laughter !!! Wonderful way to spend the New Year !!!
Luenell opened her act by saying that she was stoned and her performance indicated that maybe you shouldn’t attempt comedy while high. She had no jokes, no routine, no comedy. Just rambling, sometimes almost incoherent ranting. Her prepared video intro indicated that perhaps she could be somewhat funny but her stage act clearly involved no preparation. The warm up acts had some good jokes. Not one of the seven people in our group thought Luenell was funny. The venue was ok but the seating at the back (where we were) had no tables which we found odd for a comedy club that also serves food and drink. We ordered some food but not only was there no place to set the food but they turn all the house lights out so it’s very difficult to manage the eating and drinking just in your lap on a high bar-type chair as well.
