LUDACRIS IN CONCERT:
As far as sonic recognizability goes, few rappers can top the unmistakable timbre of Ludacris' signature drawl. Luda has been an ubiquitous presence in rap music ever since his 1998 on-record debut, and with "Party Girls," the first preview single from eighth album Ludaversal, climbing charts in early 2014, he's showing no signs of slowing. Luda treated audiences at his 2013 shows to marathon sets of his greatest hits, and with a new album hitting shelves in 2014, fans are sure to get some special treatment on his upcoming tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born Christopher Brian Bridges in Illinois, Ludacris moved to Atlanta at age nine. After a stint as a radio DJ on Atlanta's legendary Hot 97.5, he scored his first mainstream exposure on the track "Phat Rabbit," a collaboration with Timbaland from the famed producer's 1998 album Tim's Bio: Life from da Basement. Ludacris built on this success with his 2000 debut album Back for the First Time, which contained several huge singles, and in 2003 he topped the Billboard 200 with third album Chicken-n-Beer. His next two albums would also top the chart, spawning classic No. 1's "Stand Up" and "Money Maker" and establishing him as one of rap's biggest players. With seven Top 5 albums under his belt and eighth album Ludaverse due out in 2014, anticipation for Luda's upcoming tour dates is at fever pitch.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"I would see Ludacris again in a heartbeat. He is as good live as he is on every single one of his albums. He's funny, he's clever, he's entertaining and he's downright sexy."
"...Ludacris came up, and I was absolutely floored. A wonderful combination of his old number one hits and his new ones made me fall in love all over again with his artistry. He was very charismatic and able to keep the crowd going."
"Luda was awesome!!! I have never had that much fun at a concert ever. Luda is a pure entertainer!!!! Great selection!"
Great show a little on the short side though......
I really enjoyed this event, not often a rapper of his caliber and history comes up the Anchorage, AK Area. Did not realize that every album he has ever put out went Platium, a fan there told me this. He kept the crowded engaged and participated with us, just didn't sing to us. He sang all his popular songs. Would go to it again any day.
For some reason luda came out an hour later than he was supposed to!!! When ludacris finally came out it was awesome, but his predacessors werent that great and the music was way too loud!! I understand that it is a concert, but when the volume is so high that you cant even understand what the performers are saying, it is a bit ridiculous!
Ludacris was a total rip off! He was on stage for an hour, played less than that hour, and only sang half the songs himself while he had the audience sing the other half. I think he totally took advatage of Anchorage's hospitality and desire to see good talent. What a let down! The look of disbelief by those of us who paid good money for our floor seats said it all! I guess Luda didn't feel like us Alaskan's were worth the effort.
Only postponed for a day which is not as bad as it could've been; promised to make it up although appeared to be the standard 2 hour show, sound improved as the event progressed, would've love to hear more than one verse of some of Luda's hits (Strawberry yum-yum, Move, etc..), certainly spendy for a rap show... DJs from 92.9 we're wobbly at best.
The show was great! Ludacris gave it his all and hit the groove consistantly. For only a three man crew the sound was amazing.
This concert was awesome, Anchorage needs to get more of this kind of show here. It wakes us up and makes us feel tht we are not forgotten
He was late, and played pretty short (about an hour and a half) but it was an unreal hour and a half.... he ran through his hits, clowned with the crowd and I danced the entire time
I was cool he preformed a lot of good songs but the sound quality was bad on some of the tracks you could not hear the beat
Fine as wine and just my kind....Thanks Luda for coming to Alaska. Hope you come back again. :o)
he was amazing and he sang all his good songs except one.
The concert was sweet Ludacris came out with a ton of songs.
The concert started @ 7:30. He finally was on stage about 9:05 and then only played for an hour. He promised a longer show for changing dates but I was disappointed that he didn't go for longer. A lot of money for a short concert.
Great performance, Crowd was made up of REAL Luda Fans!!! Really got everyone into the show. Performed songs from Luda's entire catalog!
Not the best idea to schedule two large acts together that appeal to the same crowd back to back nights. This results in low attendance on both nights. That is poor planning. Moreover, numerous other great hip-hop acts are performing in Madison within a months time. This poor planning and coordination results in lower attendance for all the venus, is less fun for those attending, and likely the artists will not return. The waiting period between the last opening act and Ludacris was too long. The crowd hypsters were ultimately annoying because they had to go on so long. Better to throw on some jams and let us dance and then hype the crowd in the last three minutes. The music kept skipping for the opening acts. That is not fun to listen to and certainly frustrating for the artists as well. The mic also went out for the last opening act so only the main guy had a mic, which makes for a weak showing. Ludacris' show was too short
Ludacris was good but late. Other performers were okay. They were obviously wasting time since he was late and he only performed a short time before he just got off the stage....no encore, no applause, VERY weird ending
i loved luda's performance but when the tickets say the show is going to start at 7:30 it should actually start somewhere near that time. the fact that luda didn't come out until 10:05 really ticked me off. the pre-show performers were fine, there was just way too much. an hour of pre-show is fine but 2.5 hours is just ridiculous. i didn’t come to see them for 2.5 hours and luda for an hour or less. i came to see luda. so there should have been more luda and less of the other performers. i was rather disappointed. luda’s performance itself was great.
I was disappointed that Ludacris didn't start his performace until 10:00 pm. There were too many acts before his which were fillers. Plus the sound from the speakers was too loud during the opening act plus for Ludacris act. I also feel Ludacris should had performed longer then60 minutes or started his show earlier.
First of all, the show started about 2 hours late and Ludacris was only on stage for about an hour. Complete waste of money....
The Luda concert was amazing if he ever comes this way again i am going for sure he is the best rapper of all time it was just incredible. His perfromance could not have been any better. I wish it didn't end i could listen to him all day every day. LUDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DTP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
