About

LUDACRIS IN CONCERT:

As far as sonic recognizability goes, few rappers can top the unmistakable timbre of Ludacris' signature drawl. Luda has been an ubiquitous presence in rap music ever since his 1998 on-record debut, and with "Party Girls," the first preview single from eighth album Ludaversal, climbing charts in early 2014, he's showing no signs of slowing. Luda treated audiences at his 2013 shows to marathon sets of his greatest hits, and with a new album hitting shelves in 2014, fans are sure to get some special treatment on his upcoming tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born Christopher Brian Bridges in Illinois, Ludacris moved to Atlanta at age nine. After a stint as a radio DJ on Atlanta's legendary Hot 97.5, he scored his first mainstream exposure on the track "Phat Rabbit," a collaboration with Timbaland from the famed producer's 1998 album Tim's Bio: Life from da Basement. Ludacris  built on this success with his 2000 debut album Back for the First Time, which contained several huge singles, and in 2003 he topped the Billboard 200 with third album Chicken-n-Beer. His next two albums would also top the chart, spawning classic No. 1's "Stand Up" and "Money Maker" and establishing him as one of rap's biggest players. With seven Top 5 albums under his belt and eighth album Ludaverse due out in 2014, anticipation for Luda's upcoming tour dates is at fever pitch.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"I would see Ludacris again in a heartbeat. He is as good live as he is on every single one of his albums. He's funny, he's clever, he's entertaining and he's downright sexy."

"...Ludacris came up, and I was absolutely floored. A wonderful combination of his old number one hits and his new ones made me fall in love all over again with his artistry. He was very charismatic and able to keep the crowd going."

"Luda was awesome!!! I have never had that much fun at a concert ever. Luda is a pure entertainer!!!! Great selection!"

    "I LOVE THAT MAN!!" but...

by QUEEN71 on 12/29/09Apollo Theater - New York

I've been to many different events and loved them all, however, this was my first time seeing someone at the Apollo Theater. I brought a dear friend of mine and she was very excited because she has NEVER been to a concert. What I expected for her was not what I received at my first concert. Although she was happy and of course, "I LOVE THAT MAN!!," It was okay. Now, I'm just waiting for summer jam. THEN she'll experience the adrenaline I "ALWAYS" get whenever I go to any concert!

    Great Show

by drniege on 12/29/09Apollo Theater - New York

The show was amazing, Ludacris was great and the special appearances of other artist such as Jadakkis and Jim Jones made it even better!!! Downside was the location. Although the Apollo theater itself is a nice place, you are not allowed to take pictures and the staff is not so friendly.

Luda, u can still make it up to us ;)

by zeecity on 12/29/09Apollo Theater - New York

The only issue was, that we had some crapy seats where we couldnt see anything after everybody stood up...-that's a huge minus... But the concert it self was amazingly good.... Luda perfomed with Jim Jones, Ron Browz and Lil Flip. Older and newer songs.... The party was on!!! If you weren't there you def. missed out on a good concert!!

    Ludacris @ the Apollo

by LudaFan on 12/29/09Apollo Theater - New York

Overall the concert was amazing, only thing I can complain about is the theater itself they don't allow you to take any pictures and enforced it the entire concert. Otherwise it was a great concert with special appearances from Jim Jones, Jadakiss and Ron Browz.

    Loved Ludacris rest sucked!!

by Splash2 on 12/22/09George M Sullivan Sports Arena - Anchorage

Two and a half hours after Ludacris was supposed to start he finally came out on stage, he was awesome, but making us wait that long, we were a bit upset. He rocked the house when he did come out, the opening acts sucked all except for the very first person, he played an electric violin and it was incredible!!!! Next time Luda, please don't make us wait so long!!!

THe show started almost 2 hours late and the sound was not that great, It was hard to understand what they were saying, unless you knew the words to the songs.

    Had a great time

by snowflake10 on 12/21/09George M Sullivan Sports Arena - Anchorage

Luda put on a good show and sang all our favorites. Alaska needs a dedicated concert venue, but for what he had to work with , it was a GREAT night!

    Ludacris--Off the Chain

by Mich99508 on 12/21/09George M Sullivan Sports Arena - Anchorage

I would recommend him coming back & doing another show for those who didn't get to see him. We need more big names to come to Alaska.

    Luda is FINE!

by N8TV1 on 12/21/09George M Sullivan Sports Arena - Anchorage

So the seats were awesome-front and center baby! And he is sooo much more fine in person! :P I respected the fact that he came out right after the opening acts and played his hits and then took requests. In Alaska, you usually get three hours of 'opening acts' and maybe 20 minutes of a show, so I appreciate that he gave more-he definitely maintained the respect I have for him by not punking out after like 20 min. -Love ya Luda! :)

Luda took me back in time and into his future for what seemed only a few moments but turned out to be an hour and a half, which is serious for a hip hop artist. His ability to get the crowd of folks into the show was flawless and his energy was excellent. It was amazing to see how fast the words could escape his lips, live, in concert, no stopping, and out to kill it with his flow. I have been a fan of his for 10 years and plan to be as long as he's out there doin' his thing.

The concert seemed to be about half promotions and half entertainment. Since I paid more than $60 for my ticket, I expected a bit more.

    Ludacris was amazing!

by TaraAnn907 on 12/21/09George M Sullivan Sports Arena - Anchorage

He played for almost two hours, let us make requests, and was really into talking with the crowd. He mentioned Anchorage like four times in his songs, which really showed that he cared he was there. The opening acts were really good too.

by Missy25 on 12/21/09George M Sullivan Sports Arena - Anchorage

The perfromance was great, however we had to wait a good hour for him to actually start. Start time was 7:30, luda didnt start himselft till close to 9pm. Overall, it worth the wait i guess.

    Ludacris in Anchorage

by amergerm on 12/21/09George M Sullivan Sports Arena - Anchorage

VERY disappointed in his length of playing time - just about an hour and 10 minutes. No warning before he went off the stage at one hour, then he came back for one encore for 10 minutes. Like most artists who play live, he has a tendency to eat the microphone. No way to really understand him since he screamed into it from an inch away. Reserved seating was minimally enforced - people with tickets from different sections kept trying to sit where we were at.

I thought the show was awesome! However the time "he" was actually on stage considering it started late, late was too darn short!

    Luda was awesome!

by LilTlingitMama on 12/21/09George M Sullivan Sports Arena - Anchorage

I loved the concert even though he was late and the people there directed me to the wrong seat. Everyone seemed to have a really good time. I did. I would so go again if he ever comes back. Next time i'm getting back stage passes and going to the after party. Im only 20 so I couldn't.

    Loved Ludacris!!!

by Mallory00 on 12/21/09George M Sullivan Sports Arena - Anchorage

Ludacris performed well... we did have to wait for about two and a half hours for him to appear on stage after the concert was supposed to start, but that's pretty typical. He was on stage for about 40 minutes... which I wish would have been longer, but that's pretty typical as well. I did enjoy myself, I would definately see him again if the opportunity arises!
